4 out of 5 eggsWin 7

Pros: Transition from XP to Win 7, Wow ! I truly am enjoying Windows 7 interface.

Cons: A few day's after installing Win 7, system would not boot up due to win root system32.hal.dll missing. Appears to be a common Win 7 glitch.

5 out of 5 eggsPSA: if you are receiving a BSOD, check this:

Pros: Windows, not apple, not mac

Cons: Specific BSOD event.

Other Thoughts: If you are receiving the BSOD error "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and have some tech knowledge, look in your update history and see if an optional system update "KB2670838" is installed.

If it is, there is a high chance that update is your BSOD causing culprit. Seeing as my system has sped up after taking that update off, it is likely it was my problem.

Happy cleaning!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat as always.

Pros: SP1 integral, so no need to slipstream. Speeds up the install greatly.

A very refined and stable OS that may become the next long lived Windows XP.

Cons: Product key stickers are made of very poor quality material and print type. If left in direct sunlight, will fade. If anything bumps the sticker, the ink will come off very easy.

Other Thoughts: Although I have owned this copy just a few days, I have been using Windows 7 of all versions since its release. It is in my opinion one of Microsoft's best & refined operating systems. Planning to skip Windows 8.x altogether and hope Windows 9 will be just as good.

4 out of 5 eggsFlawless instal on late 2011 MBP

Pros: Pretty easy. Popped in a thumb drive and followed Apple's online Boot Camp instructions and got the drivers. I fired up Boot Camp Assistant from the search bar from the desktop and plugged my thumb drive in. Then when prompted by Boot Camp, I inserted the Win 7 Pro OEM disc. Once Boot Camp partitioned the space I selected, it rebooted and ran Windows install like any other computer. One catch that slightly confused me was that Windows didn't want to use my selected partition "Disc 0 Partition 4". After clicking the extra options and clicking on "Format" it ran and installed in less than 30 minutes. The "Expanding Windows Files" part of the instal made me nervous because it stayed at 0% for about 5 minutes but then it started trucking along. Win7 Pro runs stupid fast and stable on my MBP using a 2.4 Intel i7 quad core processor, 1gb AMD Radeon 6750m video card, and 16gb Crucial RAM

Cons: OEM disc EULA is lame. One time use ONLY. Don't mistake that. If you intend on using it for future computers, buy the full version which is much more expensive.

For Apple users: the trackpad/magic pad will lose most of its functionality. This includes swiping and multi-finger gestures. There is a program called Trackpad++. Google it and you'll be set.

Other Thoughts: If you were wondering, I use OSX Mavericks. No problems here.

5 out of 5 eggsStable

Pros: I have reservations about using windows 8 and 8.1...I think microsoft is trying to do a one size fits all and I would prefer the PC to use windows 7 64 bit and tablets/phones can use that touch screen/windows 8.1 tech. I will keep using windows 7 until they come up with a new PC (none touch screen) operating system.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsBest OS so far!

Pros: One of the main reasons I got it instead of home premium was the RAM capacity. This allows up to 64GB i believe and Home Premium only 16GB.

Fairly quick, efficient, and customizable.
There are actually some nice programs that can stand up to third party ones and some that are even better.

Cons: With all the openness and customizability, there are errors and some minor drawbacks. However, I haven't encountered anything so bad it was memorable.

Other Thoughts: Best OS for anyone without a touchscreen.
