Pentax redefines the entry-level DSLR category with the K-x. This new model combines solid photographic performance with a wide array of advanced features, including Live View function and high-quality movie recording, extending high-quality digital SLR photography to all users. Its compact, lightweight body also enhances portability and maneuverability, making it ideal for many different photographic occasions.
The K-x design is based on the Pentax K-m, an entry-class digital SLR camera launched in October 2008 that early on gained popularity for its compact, lightweight body and simple, user-friendly operations. Pros: I am a Pentaxian since the day the first *ist D came out and I had every model they made ever since. I bought this one as a lightweight small alternative to my K20D. It is a reliable camera with great battery life. I use Sanyo Eneloops in mine and I don't even remember when I charged them last. AA batteries are a nice feature to have! The camera is fast and has a very low noise imaging. Great for higher ISO shots. Also this one has the best automatic white balance of every digital camera I have owned. I can highly recommend this product.
Cons: Mine has the tendency to overexpose a little under certain situations, so I just compensate most shots by a 1/3 stop just to avoid blown highlights.
Other Thoughts: I wish Pentax would be more recognized. It's such a great brand. They just don't spend money for ads like the other 2 brands do.

Pros: Great control and speed shots with shake reduction. Using the PENTAX smc P-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED Lens with it and has amazing results just in jpeg format! Raw format, even better. Good computer software that goes with it. The camera runs on AA batteries which make a fast power recovery.
Cons: None!!!
