1 out of 5 eggsnot for indoor shooting

Pros: Cheap zoom camera that is small and can almost fit in your pocket.

Uses rechargeable AA batteries (I suggest Eneloop, as the older NiMh that I had would only give much less than 50 shots before being 'dead'.) I cannot stress how important it is to use good batteries, or you will be come frustrated with the battery life.

Cons: Horrible low light and flash performance. Do not believe the 1600 ISO performance, the camera can barley do 400 to 800 ISO. Image noise starts to become a significant problem.

I have to send my camera back to Canon, as the backup battery failed in under 2 months (30 day return policy at Best Buy, 1 year warranty from Canon). The camera now resets the date and time when ever it is power cycled. This is very inconvenient, and I will now lose the camera for at least a week or two to get it fixed.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my S2-IS (black screen of death). I should have saved up for an SX40 or a DSLR.

I had battery issues until I went with good rechargeables (Eneloop work great!).

Indoor shooting is horrible, the auto mode is worthless (shutter speed too slow for my shaky hands). Flash does not go very far.

Manual controls are not easy to use.

Slow between shots, especially when using the flash.

As with the S2-IS, I like that the flash activiation is 'manual', and you have to flip it up to use it. It means that I can control when it is used. The bad part is that it does not throw much light, so it is kind of useless.

Auto-white balance does not seem to work well in the camera.

Bottom line is that it is a good basic, outdoor, zoom camera, but if you want to do indoor shooting, choose something else.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Picture quality is very good. Video quality is very good. Easy to use. Using Energizer Lithium on this, keeps going and going. Worth the price of the battery.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsI will keep it

Pros: Image stabilization works. Good pictures

Cons: This camera goes through batteries at a fantastic rate. Cannot use Li because of high voltage. NiMH ok. I bought a charger and use NiMH.

4 out of 5 eggsGood and Bad

Pros: Close ups

Cons: Battery usage

Other Thoughts: I bought this for work where I need to take extremely close pictures of very small electronic components and circuits. You can actually touch the lens to your subject, pull the trigger, and you get a perfect picture most of the time. This is an awesome camera for that. That being said, this the limits of my usage of this camera so I am not aware of the quality of faces, outdoor shots, indoor shots, or anything. The last thing you should know is you’d better have a lot of batteries. By ‘a lot of batteries’ I mean ‘A LOT OF BATTERIES’. This thing goes thru batteries like child goes thru chocolate.

3 out of 5 eggsOK, but I'm disappointed

Pros: Can take a good picture
Uses AA batteries, which can be bought anywhere

Cons: If you use the flash, battery life is very disappointing. Part of this is because this unit only uses two AA batteries. But I think the flash and display on this camera aren't designed with battery life as a consideration. Also, the coarse display can make it very hard to judge whether a closeup subject is in correct focus.

Other Thoughts: I use this camera for work. I take a lot of close up images and use the flash a lot. I found this camera annoying for this type of work. I suppose it would be OK for normal images. But the battery life is truly abysmal.

4 out of 5 eggsProtect the lcd display

Pros: Nice camera, good quality pictures, easy to use

Cons: The screen on my display got badly scratched. I would be sure to use a protective film on it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat camera

Pros: Price, Number of functions, Quality of pictures, AA batteries

Cons: SIZE,

Other Thoughts: It's odd to me why nearly every review says this camera is "Slow" i find it just right. Now to be fair i find the flash a bit slow on the recharge, but that aside it takes great pictures and video's in 720p.

5 out of 5 eggsGood features

Pros: We really like the features offered, and quality of pictures from this camera. Has a lot of features that you'd normally see in an SLR.

Cons: Slight learning curve navigating the menu if you're not tech savvy.

Other Thoughts: Iron Egg is sweet. As always, super fast standard shipping. Ordered it Monday morning, was at the office Tuesday at 1:00PM.
