Pros: Works with all media, plays anything, lightscribe works great. Working perfectly until today. Probably going to buy another Plextor

Cons: ...just broke a cd into 1000 tiny pieces...had it for about 5 months. It ruined the drive

Pros: Works with any blank media that I have tried.
Quiet operation.
Seems to be dependable.

Cons: None yet. All of mine just work, and work well.
For the guy who has had three fail, I feel your pain,....I had the same problems with LiteOn burners.

Other Thoughts: I now have five of these drives. I have replaced almost all of my DVD Burners with this model.
All of them are quiet and reliable.

Pros: High quality, fair/reasonable cost for the product that you get

Cons: None really. A little more expensive than the others but with that comes better quality so I do not consider this to be a con.

Other Thoughts: If you are no concerned about quality and just need something to fill the slot, go with the cheaper one.

Pros: At this time there is no pros to this drive. I'm on the third RMA

Cons: I've written one review already. Now I'm writing about the drive I was RMA'd. The second time. The first one failed within 30 days. The second within five months and this one within 45 days of recieving it. This is the 3rd one since November. Not sure what's happened to Plextor but their drives are not as good as they once were. I have always been a Plextor person but after this experience I have to switch drives. I had a similar problem with a 16X drive they made and hoped it was just isolated to that model but after this drive failed 3 different times, I have to say plextors quality has gone done. That's a shame too considering their drives are more expensive then most and they use to be the best.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this drive. It has a serious fail rate

Pros: Fast, stable, pretty quiet read and write speeds. Like the glossy black finish.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

Pros: Wasn't DOA, runs smooth, plenty of free software (that's actually really useful), compatible with pretty much anything I've stuck in there

Pros: Nice, fast and quiet. It is easily identified in my sons computer which has a finicky ASRock 770DE M/B. The Lite-On counterpart would not detect so I bought this to get his windows installation going, Then I'm getting one for myself after using it because it's so quiet.

Cons: Well, it can't teach you the waltz.....

Other Thoughts: Plextor use to be the top dog of the block when it came to their optical drives. Now they are a minor image of what they once were. Plextor use to be worth the extra money you would have to spend to own one. Now it's more of a rip off.

Pros: great plextor drive i highly recommend the OEM version if you dont need the software etc just a bare drive and it works fine
