Rosewill USB 2.0 Slim8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive for PC Model ROD-EX003 Gloss Black

Pros: Rosewill has never let me down, their products have so much quality for little cost.

Every Rosewill product I have bought has always come neatly packed without ever having any problems. A lot of times I reuse the package it comes in to store the item when not in use because the packaging is so low profile.

This DVD drive works great, very low profile design, and quiet.

Cons: Wasn't free?

NONE.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill = Quality and Low cost.

Pros: Easy to use. This is very nice DVD writer and small to carry.

Cons: Nice DVD Writer for laptop.

Pros: Always delivered expected time

Cons: Nothing particular

Pros: This DVD burner works very well.

Cons: Perfect for copy and burn DVD or CD.

Pros: Works on an Imac Mini using a powered USB hub, I then needed only one of the USB connectors hooked up. To eject, needed to go to Finder and eject it from there, it would not eject using the button on the front of the DVD-RW.

Cons: Wouldn't open using button, Software is not Mac based, so no player. Didn't try playing a DVD yet, but it would read data CDs and DVDs.

Other Thoughts: Haven't used for long, just wanted to note that it does work for Imac Mini even though it only lists PC and Linux.

Pros: Very easy to use. Plug and play.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you are currently using a netbook like me, this is a great product for installing programs or burning files.

Pros: -Plug and play
-No hiccups

Cons: -Wants to use 2 USB ports

Other Thoughts: This thing works just fine, I purchased it as a hold-over until I find the BD Burner drive I want. I've used it for both long and short sessions, it operates exactly as advertised, no problems whatsoever.

Pros: it works without any extry software

Cons: it uses up two usb ports

Pros: Cheap and installs easily.

Cons: Cable is too short and the split cable is annoying. The device is not recognized by most applications as a writable device. W7 will attempt to write to it but it just opens and says load a disk, when there was one in there. So bottom line is I can't write to it at all. About half of the time it will not read either. But If I keep trying it finally will work.

Other Thoughts: Don't wast your money on this. Spend a little more and get one that works. I would say don't buy anything from Rosewill. Every Rosewill product is cheap junk. I have not been happy with any of their products. This is the last.

Pros: Decent price if it worked

Cons: Doesn't work

Other Thoughts: Connected to 3 different PC's, a netbook and a laptop. Used different cd's/DVD's and movies.

Would not work on any system with any optical disk. Drive is recognized just fine. Lights up for a 3 seconds, spins then does nothing.

Shows there is something in the drive, says 0 out of xxxx free but doesn't show contents.

Systems were AMD and Intel and other drives work fine.

Now I have to go through the process of returning it. Should have read the comments more and seen that many others have the same problem.
