Installs any OS from scratch ( XP, Vista, Seven, Kubuntu, PCLinux, etc.). Cons: A bit louder than expected, but that's OK. Also I realize this is my fault for not checking but I just figured out that it's not a burner. Its also kinda loud but I don't really care to much about that. Cons: This drive was keeping me from doing a fresh install of win 7. Windows 7 install "could not communicate a device". So I popped a sony drive in and good to go. I took me a bit to figure out it was the drive and not my new ssd, gfx card, ect.
