Pros: I bought this for the sole purpose of installing windows 7. Thats it. i had gone months without a cd drive in my pc and i realized that i didnt really need one for much else
Cons: good thing i didnt need it for much, because it gave me problems right out of the box. it wouldnt cooperate with my power supply, and i switch cables around for a good 2 hours before it found the cables it "liked"
then i booted up mass effect...the game was crashing constantly. i took this cd drive out, and it worked flawlessly.....go figure.
Other Thoughts: my under $600 rig asus m4a78 plus amd athlon X 7850 black edition kuma 2.8ghz WD caviar blue 320gb ocz sl-ready edition 4gb (2 X 2GB) evga geforce 9800 gtx+ corsair 750w psu

Pros: This drive works really well, runs fairly quiet. Door opens at a normal speed, not right after you press the button, but 1-2 seconds after.

Pros: Easy, plug and go, smaller than the other drive in this computer. Good Price :)
Cons: After tax/shipping was 27.xx , wish i had seen the 20 dollar one with free shipping.

Pros: Attractive, easty to install, not too loud. Just your basic OEM drive.
Cons: The drive reads DVD's fine when watching a movie or installing software. When using the drive to copy DVD's for backup purposes, the drive gives intermitant data reading errors.

Pros: Works fast, fairly quiet I guess, reads CD/DVDs that my older emachine dvd rom drive couldn't that it said were too scratched.
Cons: None.
