2 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Big squishy top. Decent sound. Sturdy build.

Cons: This headset was a very tight fit for my head even at max extension. It felt like a suction cup pulling on my ear drums. Had to return unfortunately.

4 out of 5 eggsnot as bad as people make it

Pros: They sound really good, and have a lot of deep base (due to closed ear design tho).
The mic works very well. it is pretty clear and is plenty loud.

for the price they are pretty good.

Cons: REQUIRES A SOUND CARD!
this headset is unusable unless it has a headphone/mic amp. most motherboard do not. ESPECIALLY laptop motherboards. (connected to a laptop mic port, the mic is completely in-audable even when boosting it to the max.

for a laptop you can use a usb sound card like the creative xfi go pro. This will get you good use out of it.
on a desktop i have an asus dgx sound card, and it sounds really good, and the mic is very clear and loud.

Now the -1 egg is for comfort. They are WAY too tight on your head. I have a average size head, maybe alittle on the smaller side.
These things put A LOT of pressure on the sides of your head.
i was hoping after using them for like 5 months that it would adjust better, and they really havent.

Other Thoughts: in the product description it says the word "sound card" like 8 times >.>

i upgraded to a sennheiser headset, and its truly amazing. very good sound and crystal clear mic.
but i payed $60 for this headset with a $10 mail in rebate making it $50.
i payed $180 for the sennheiser so.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair headset

Pros: Soft comfortable feel with nice size adjustment. Great sound and noise cancelling. Perfect for use with upgraded audio cards.

Cons: Volume adjustment placement means it tends to get caught on things. Not sure if i would prefer a alternative though.

3 out of 5 eggsGood if you got them on sale...

Pros: I got these headphones on sale for $49

Overall build of the headphones is pretty solid
Microphone is very clear for the most part
Haven't had any technical problems or damage/something breaking

Cons: Sound could be MUCH better, having used only them for a few weeks straight I've gotten used to the quality, but for an over ear headset you would expect some pretty low frequencies which are pretty non-existent in these.

The size adjusters don't go small enough. Perhaps I have a small head, but the ear cups sit almost on my ear pressing them downward which gets very very sore after about 2 or so hours

Other Thoughts: For $49? sure i'd buy em. $80? I recommended something with better sound.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Standard ear comfort, can last for a long time without providing headaches. Distorts outside sounds effectively.

Cons: What in Hellall mighty were they thinking? Upon purchase, everyone I Skyped reported massive feedback at seemingly random points of every conversation I had. The microphone contacter did go bad quickly, but not before everyone I knew demanded I switch to my old headset built by Plantronics.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand how this much of a publicized headset could be so worthless. Poor sound quality accompanied by the worst voice isolation possible.

4 out of 5 eggsComfortable and Functional

Pros: Comfortable cushion surrounding the ears, along with the padding atop the head, the only reason I bought a new headset and it has fulfilled its purpose.

Cons: The sound quality isn't as great as I'm used to, but it was also fairly cheap, I didn't expect too much.

Other Thoughts: Comfortability and durability for me outweighs the not so superior quality of the sound.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat - while it lasts

Pros: Noticeably better sound quality than my other headsets. Note - this is running them off a Xonar DX, see the other reviews below re: running them off underpowered sound.

Plug them into a receiver or a decent sound card, and they sound amazing ... while they last at least.

Cons: After sending in my old Corsair HS1A, which broke about 6 months in ... right where the wire meets the volume adjustment/mute button piece (poor soldering) ... these broke in 5 months ... guess where?

Exact same place. It's a shame, other than the shoddy wires on these headsets, they'd be easily my top choice. But the first time cost me half what the headset cost in shipping to get them replaced, I don't think I'm up for getting burned yet again.

I am very gentle on my equipment, I have a set of cans that cost less than these, which have lasted 8 years ...

I've been a fan of Corsair from their memory + power supplies, never had a problem. But would recommend avoiding these headsets until they figure out how to make them not SO fragile.

Pros: Comfortable, light, good audio quality.

Cons: Lost complete sound on left side after 15 months. Terrible overall quality.

Other Thoughts: Skip them. Look elsewhere.
