4 out of 5 eggsGreat mid/high range headset

Pros: This headset has held up great over a year. From packing and storing abuse, all works well still. The sound is great, In fps you can really tell which direction footsteps are coming from.

Cons: Its heavy. After a 6 hour gamathon you might start getting a headache.

5 out of 5 eggsUnder-valued gaming headset

Pros: It has individual 8mm jacks for your surround sound outputs on your high-end audio card. There are individual speakers inside the cup for each surround element. Sounds decent overall. The surround quality in games is far superior to virtual surround on stereo headphones. Music sounds good too. Definitely a good value at $100.

Cons: First pair broke where the hinge is after a few months. Free replacement though. Kind of heavy to and not that comfortable to wear.

Other Thoughts: An interesting headset on the market. There are probably better options, but this one works well for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headset

Pros: 5.1 sound and very good sound quality. I have had them over a year now and still working great. has a nice long cord.

Cons: I have had 2 problems with them.... since I wear them a lot I had to add padding to the headband because my head would get a red square on it ( I do have a large head so that may have something to do with it). The other problem was with the in line volume control, at random times the sound would keep getting louder and louder without me adjusting it. I fixed this by opening up the in line device and ripping out the volume control inside, so now I just use the volume control on my keyboard.

Other Thoughts: They have held up for over a long time and I believe I got my moneys worth.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware of the warranty

Pros: Pretty upset with Roccat. Can't say anything good about them right now.

Cons: These things are heavy! They are built like a tank and weigh almost as much. After long nights of gaming they will leave indentations across the top of your head that won't go away for a couple of days. If you wear a hat it's no problem but if you rock them without one you'll have a sore head after just a few days of use. The warranty system Roccat employs is a complete joke. I've emailed them repeatedly and have gotten no response. I have a loose sub in the right ear cup and it's not a horrible problem because even with the base turned almost all the way down to the point that the sub doesn't rattle I still have decent sound. I just wish that I could get them to RMA the things so I can turn the bass back up!

Other Thoughts: i didn't purchase my headset from the egg. I bought mine from a brick and mortar and have since moved to where there just happens to be no stores within a few hundred miles, just my luck. I loved this headset when I first bought it. The sound was amazing the bass and surround sound is just awesome. But over time the problems began to shine through. loose sub in the right ear and the weight of the headset leaving those indentations on my head just plain out suck. I could have lived with all of that though if Roccat's warranty system was a little better. I first contacted them about six to seven months after purchase (right after the sub started rattling) and waited to see what would happen. Well, nothing happened. I haven't been contacted at all after multiple emails to their "support" team. This is really disappointing because when they were working right they were the best headset I've ever used. Now they're just another piece of junk collection dust.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, quiet mic.

Pros: Amazing sound, the true 5.1 surround is better than any virtual 7.1 i've heard. Comfortable - fully circumaural!!! Fit really snug on my ears. Ladies will dig your well muscled neck after 1 week of use.

Cons: Heavy-ish... I got used to it really fast so now its just really comfortable. The mic. I have tampered with it, messed with all my settings, downloaded programs to help, my mic always sounds quiet to people. This may be a problem with Mac OSX, but who knows.

Other Thoughts: Really comfortable, amazing sound. Buy an external mic, i use the Audio-Technica Atr2500 (a semi-cheap usb mic) would buy gain.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Last reviewed these 2/24/2013 and happy to say after dropping them dozens of times , spills, etc. they are still going as strong as the day I took them out of the box. Do not know what the negative reviewers here are doing wrong but..after owning several high end sets this is the most durable I have encountered.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: They are a bit heavy but I have a thick neck so maybe thats a prequisite. Play BF4 for hours in perfect comfort.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for What it is

Pros: Takes advantage of surround sound without disturbing others
So far, solid build
Control module is robust and nicer than other 5.1 headsets that just hang off your head when in use
Don't need a lot of output power to drive the speakers for a good level of sound

Cons: It isn't 7.1

Other Thoughts: I alreadty have one of these for my tower, but I decided to buy one for my media server to take advantage of surround sound without disturbing others.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Speakers are nice quality.
Build quality is great

Cons: Mic on this is junk, my brother and myself both have a pair of these and they both sound like junk. They worked great for about 2-3 months and then started having issues with them. Mic was static, had to rotate the removable mic counter clockwise to get it to work, rotating it clockwise would not work at all. I'm sure they are not all like this.

If it wasn't for this I would recommend them

Other Thoughts: I e-mailed them about this issue and they said I could return it and they would take a look at it. Haven't got around to that yet. They don't do cross shipping so who know how long I would be out of a headset. Other than that the service at least seemed decent.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset for gaming but terrible build quaility

Pros: -Pretty good sound quality for the price you are paying.
-Easy to install
-Pretty comfortable
-Very Good customer service

Cons: - Terrible build quality!!! This is my second pair of kave's and they both broke the same exact way. The left ear cup where it makes the connection with the head band broke. This has happen twice now. It is connected together with this cheap plastic that will crack and eventually you will have a dangling ear cup and you can't hear anything. I don't care how delicate you are whit them they will break with basic use.

- Mic is junk. I sent them and email about it and they sent me a new one free of charge but it didn't make any difference. My buddies either complained I was to low or had static noise to it.

Other Thoughts: I really hope Roccat will address this issue with the ear cups breaking. It seems many people are having this issue. Until then I will find a different headset manufacture that products will last more than 8 months until breaking.
