2 out of 5 eggsLook for other headsets

Pros: The sound is superb. This headset has had the best sound of any headset I have used to date.

Cons: It is heavy, no doubt about that. There are also 3 pressure points that it uses to rest on your head, instead of a normal cushioned band like other headsets use. Now these two aspects together and a recipe for disaster. For prolonged periods of gaming I get headaches a lot. And as all gamers know, comfort is a huge factor.

Other Thoughts: The sound aspect alone is what is saving this from being a one egg review. But I can not recommend this product to anyone in good faith. It seems like Roccat put all of their effort into making a good sounding product, without look at if their product is comfortable to wear. If Roccat was to go and redesign the head supports into something more comfortable, I would have no problem recommending this product.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Very stylish and the design matches my custom gamer and graphic PC. Sounds good and even better on gaming. The surround sound makes you feel as if your in the environment of the game. It comes with a control mixer which allows you to customize the sounds as your in the music or gaming zone. Not to mention the mute button next to the scifi mixer looking gizmo.

Cons: Does not have a internal voice changer but over all I recommend it.

Other Thoughts: When it comes to ROCCAT products I agree with this one, but some of their mouses have false advertisement....

1 out of 5 eggsGood for a very short amount of time.

Pros: Great sound.

Cons: They headphones started to make static noises when I moved my head after about 6 months. It seems like something came loose inside the headset.

The mic completely stopped working after 5 months, but ROCCAT sent me a replacement for free.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't expecting a $100+ German headset to be built so poorly.

Not worth it at all.

4 out of 5 eggsHeavy with Poor Headband

Pros: Great sound and isolation. Quality detachable microphone. Good controls. True 5.1, multiple "speakers" inside headphones.

Cons: These headphones are very heavy but the headband is not well designed for cushioning. As a result, after prolonged wear they hurt the top of my head when I wear them. The only way to make them bearable has been to add additional cushioning between the top of my head and the headband.

Other Thoughts: The designers need to go back to the drawing board with their headband design and come up with something thicker, with more "give" in the cushioning.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent craftsmanship

Pros: Comfortable for long hours of BF3 , solid volume and Bass with sound card tweakings, covered control module (with volume slides under a cover)spill resistant and durable, excellent sound seperation, can hear the enemies as they try to sneak up due to true 5.1 surround . Audio play is very nice as well as watching movies, etc. Have dropped them several times and the soliditity Of the cord and control unit are awesome. Just a well built headset.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have no clue why anyone would rate this less than 4 stars. The reviews with negative remarks possibly dont know and or havent tweaked sound card settings . No Hiss at high volumes , if you turn off the mic *there is a button to do so* hiss from AMBIENT sounds go away. The mic is super sensetive and responsive. Very clear Im told.Well built product and after owning several high end headsets this one is my fave currently (aside from my very fave the Barracuda by Raz** which is no longer produced) Mine run on a C labs Titanium PCI-E and the combo rocks. Quit mulling it over and buy them.

3 out of 5 eggsGood and bad I will explain clearly

Pros: -Great sound (Never put the amplifier sliders all the way to max it will buzz.)
-Nice deep ear cups. (The reason I bought them over all other things. Also the reason I go through the effort of repairing them.) For those of us with bigger ears, or above normal sized heads and bodies. (In my case healthy but larger than normal human, so most ear cups crush my ear cartilage.)
-Feels solid and reliable
-removable mic boom allows you to eat or watch movies without the mic in the way.

Cons: - Sound was good until some solder joints broke at around 3months ( I fixed)
-Heavy headset. While this wouldn't bother me the headband pads are small and create pressure points very fast... I mean headache creating pressure points. I solved this by cutting a piece of foam from a pillow and placing it between me and the headband. ( know ghetto rigging at its finest but the ear cups are why I bought the device.)
I did contact them and ask if they could make an alternative headband pad for purchase. They replied they would think about it. Six months ago... They still haven't made anything and I lack anything to fabricate my own or I would. To this particular point it is the only real major draw back with my repair skill level. It is the one thing I can do nothing about besides playing with a piece of foam on my head.

Other Thoughts: It has not been an issue yet, but the swivel hinges for the ear cups seem like they may be likely to be the fail point as time goes by. (As in not something I can fix or improve myself.)

Had they created an alternate headband pad I would probably not gotten motivated enough to write this review. Because honestly they are a good headset I just got unlucky with the solder joints.

2 out of 5 eggsToo much for too Little

Pros: Clear Sound, Clear Mic....THE END

Cons: First got the headset, the right rear speaker was not working. Was going to RMA then all of a Sudden it started working so I ignored it. Then it stopped and I did not feel like going through the hassle of a RMA once more as I also threw away the box.
Honestly these are not worth the price.
1) Speakers Flux in and out
2) The volume control is put together very flimsy like in my opinion.
3) Mic is starting to have problems as and making static noises.
4) Same as mic, the speakers are making a static noise once in awhile. (and yeah they are 2 separate problems)
5) The cushon on top is cr@p, and begins to hurt after about a hour of wear.

Take this review to heart, move onto something else and make sure to read the review. I bought these when there was almost none.

Other Thoughts: Do not purchase

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

Pros: Great sound, over the ear headset with base control station. Comfort for long gaming sessions without hurting your ears or anything while wearing them

Cons: - The Mic detaches which is fine, however it likes to flop around and cant be secured in very well. Will fall out at the slightest movement
- The Cord to the base station is pretty short. The cord itself is long, but the limiting factor being the base station to your head is not enough room. I found a spot under my desk to 3M tape it to. However going this route I dont see it which means I dont use it either.

Other Thoughts: Good purchase, I bought a 4-5 other headsets that I did not like in some way, these I found were the best in this price range. Does make 3D gaming great, the EAX sound effects of where people are firing from, gives games depth.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Great fit, comfortable, awesome sound, clear mic cross-platform (works on windows and linux), equalizer for all the channels. Mic glows blue when muted. It's very sturdy and great cable length.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggsAll treble no bass

Pros: Control box has volume, mic mute, and individual speaker volume controls. Somewhat good surround for a headset.

Cons: Very heavy, did not think this would be a problem by reading other reviews but it is. Headband hurts the head after a short time of use. Hard ear cup plastic hurts head after 1~2 hours of use. Mic bends very easy making the slightest tap to move it out of the way. Now for the sound quality, I tried my best to do everything I could to add bass to this set... the overpowering amounts of treble are not for me. Playing borderlands 2 and listening to a electric grenade go off caused me to rip these off my ears as it sounded like bacon frying in a pan. That was the deciding factor for these, when I added some bass with the windows equalizer the sound only came out flat as if the small set of speakers inside it could not handle any bass at all. Ohhh and this vibration effect was VERY annoying ... its one thing to hear some good bass, but when you cant even focus on the bass because the headset is rumbling off your face it gets old... FAST...

Other Thoughts: About 6~ years ago i tried some other brand surround sound headset ... it was about as bad... no bass or clean sound can come out of small small speakers like this. It seams that they use treble to identify where sounds are coming from otherwise you would not be able to tell front from back or up from down... needless to say i give up when a normal stereo headset is better to listen too ohh well. However if you love love love treble and 0 bass is what you want, and are not bothered by a brick siting on top of your head i guess these could be good ... Just sayin...
