5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good!

Pros: Good construction, just like the first version I had, which lasted five or so years. From the last model to this one, the only thing different that I can FEEL between the two are the fact that the shell is made up of a more plastic-type feeling than the original version, which had a nice sticky non-slip coating. I prefer the previous version's coating compared to this one. Fortunately, this difference doesn't really affect its performance.

The construction of the mouse, notwithstanding, is not what makes this mouse so desirable, but rather the Razer Synapse software that accompanies its peripherals. Not only does the mouse use the software, but so does the Lycosa keyboard I use. The software is what makes this product shine, as it easily helps you to configure the mouse EXACTLY to your liking, polling, scrolling, sensitivity, lift height, etc. I've never had any issues with the Synapse software in the years that I've been using it, either.

Cons: More of a plastic-like feel than previous generation.

Feels a little light, compared to another mouse I've used, but it just takes a little time to get used to it - no big deal, actually.

Other Thoughts: Time will tell how this version stand up.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice for Gaming

Pros: Great Mouse, very responsive for all your gaming needs and the on-the-fly sensitivity changing is very handy for when I am playing either a strategy game or a first person shooter.

The ability to be able to lift off the mousepad and still be moving the cursor was a nice touch but did take some tweaking to get it to where I wanted it.

EDIT: 3/29/2016 To all those that may be discouraged from buying this, I have had this mouse for almost 5 years and during those years I played everything from CoD, Battlefield, Guild Wars 2, Starcraft 2, Diablo 2 and 3, Skyrim, Dota 2, and the list goes on for at least 8 hours a day. I do HEAVY amounts of gaming per week and this mouse has survived 5 YEARS of that usage. If someone's hasnt lasted that long your either not taking care of your equipment or you got a bad apple which to be honest happens.

Cons: NONE!!!!

EDIT: 3/29/2016 After 5 years of usage I can honestly say 0 Cons.

Other Thoughts: My brother had bought the Razer Imperator when it first came out and I really liked it for my gaming hobby and when Razer came out with the dual sensor one, I just said eh why not and bought it.

This was a MAJOR upgrade and a very needed upgrade from my previous mouse which was 10 years old and dying on me, I put it through many many hours of gaming each day lol

EDIT: 3/29/2016 To all those that are complaining about this mouse dying after 1month - 1year, either you got a bad apple or you do not take care of your mouse. plain and simple thats it. I have had this mouse for almost 5 years and it is just NOW starting to act up with a double click issue, which I believe to be Windows 10 and not the mouse. Even if it is the mouse I will fix the switch easily enough by bending the spring back up a few millimeters.

5 years of HEAVY gaming use from playing RTS, FPS, RPG, and MOBA games for 4-12 hours a day, 7 days a week and is just NOW starting to show signs of wear? I would say tahts a REALLY good mouse, and like I said above in the Pro's if you got a bad apple it happens, but if you didnt the damage is on YOU not the manufacturer. You bought it, you take care of it if you want it to last. Also, dont read this and say "Whatever man, I game on CoD or Battlefield or WoW or Dota 2 or LoL for 10 hours a day man!" Because I do the same heavy gaming and have for all 5 years of owning this mouse. Unless its a dud from Razer, I would say PICNIC (Problem in Chair Not in Computer). Thats the honest and blunt truth from a very satisfied owner of this mouse.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesnt Hold Up

Pros: Great looking, Sleek comfortable feel,

Cons: I have owned 4 of these mice and 3 of them have failed me a little over a year. I am currently working with Razer to replace mouse number 3. It seems they are just cheaply made and don't hold up to regular use.

Other Thoughts: I really like the performance of these mice when they work. They just don't hold up for very long. I gave it three eggs because I when it does work, it works well.

Cons: cons of this are it breaks or malfunctions. ive had two of them replaced. my 1st mouse malfunctioned and would not turn on. my second one had scratches all over it.

Other Thoughts: Its a great mouse for gamers. i would not recommend buying this if you don't play videogames.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing freaking fit

Pros: Love how big it is compared to most mice. It fits super comfortable and you dont have to drag your pinky on the ground. Cord is cool and braided. The laser is super accurate and quick. The option of the movable buttons is very nice as well

Cons: Braided cord is way too stiff. Which I believe is causing my cord to have poor connection and stop working sometimes. Had the button start double clicking at holding when i was only clicking once. Took the mouse apart and cleaned contacts with rubbing alcohol....Problem Solved!!!!

Other Thoughts: Had the button start double clicking at holding when i was only clicking once. Took the mouse apart and cleaned contacts with rubbing alcohol....Problem Solved!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Build Quality

Pros: Smooth feel, Sleek Finish, great in game accuracy......when it works.

Cons: I have owned 3 of these mice, and they all have failed, 2 for the same reason. The first one I owned the buttons stopped responding. The second 2 have had the cable go out . I opened the second one up, re-soldered the cable and then it worked again for about a month. Now, after a little over a year of owning this mouse the cable has gone out as well. Contacted support on this one, over a week later get a reply telling me to try a different PC....Like I did not try that right away.

Other Thoughts: I really want the mice to be good. They look great, feel good in the hand, and perform solidly in games, but unfortunately they are just cheaply made. They do not stand up to regular usage and customer support has taken over a week to finally contact me and suggested I try a different computer....Seriously so disappointing.

1 out of 5 eggs2012 version doesn't work on hard surfaces

Pros: I've had this mouse for two years and it has done me well. I've worn out my Razer Goliathus mouse pad completely out and it is falling apart. I had to order a new mouse pad since then only to find that it does not work on hard surfaces or hard mousepads.

Cons: I recently invested 40$ into a new mouse pad that i cannot use. I tried everything to remedy the issue, firmware update 1.16. Synapse 2.0 (which has the surface changing configuration) does not work for 2012. The default Razer drivers do not offer you an option to change the surface distance. It seems that Razer knows this and thus is why they released a 2014 model that sports a new sensor that allows this. Just do an internet search and you will see i am not the only one with this issue.

Other Thoughts: I don't think i would buy another Razer product again.

They should mention somewhere that it only works on cloth pads.

My warranty is out so i can do nothing.

3 out of 5 eggsNot worth $70

Pros: Great mouse! I bought this as a replacement for my RAT 7 which I could never configure to be comfortable. I enjoy the adjustable side buttons and the mouse is light. This is my first 4G dual laser style mouse and it seems to work rather well on several types of surfaces. Comfortable and was noticeably faster and more responsive versus other mice I own.

Cons: Really light weight, maybe not a con but I prefer a mouse that is at least twice as heavy. So light I kind of question the build quality. The buttons work fine but the material this mouse is made out of is rather flimsy. I can't double click or continuously click like I was used to on my RAT and other mice. This could be due to the whole top piece not being separate buttons but just one large cover. Price is kind of high, there are other mice worth looking into in the same price range.

Other Thoughts: I will use this mouse as a back up and for my other PCs since I spent so much on it and can not find the receipt to return or exchange it it locally. I prefer large mice and this fit my hand very well but I can not get past the buttons being one piece rather than being individual. If this was $50 it would be a great purchase.
