1 out of 5 eggsGreat sound, no mic

Pros: The sound quality is nice and they're comfortable.

Cons: The mic doesn't work. Tested with multiple computers that have no issues with other mics. Unfortunately, their tech support's business hours are the same as mine, so they're not exactly easy to get ahold of for replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsProbably still worth it

Pros: So, i've only had these now for literally tonight, but I feel i've put them through their paces already.
- The construction is very high quality, they feel very solid and I don't feel like i'm going to break them at all
- They look pretty cool, wanted black but impatience won out and I went with white (black was out of stock)
- The mic is very good. I haven't quite gotten a chance to really TEST the noise isolation it claims but, as far as i've been told it's not much to write home about. It is however a very high quality mic and people noticed a difference over my previous headset, a Turtle Beach PX22 which is an amazing headset for it's price.
- Extremely comfortable, i've been wearing them for about 6 hours or so ATM with only brief breaks of 5m or so every couple hours and have no real discomfort (see cons)
- The flip up mic to mute is cool, although I usually use PTT it is something I may wind up utilizing. The mechanism has an audible click when it goes up and seems to be good quality.
- They do cancel outside noise very well for not being actual noise canceling cans. The seal from the cups keeps your sound in and other sounds out very well.
- Would like to again stress how well these things are built, the quality is worth the $$ that comes with it. I doubt I will ever be able to damage these bad boys unless I scratch them a bit...

Sound Quality.
This is by and far the main reason I went with a Sennheiser headset. I have had cans from them in the past and always found their audio quality to be above anything else I had found. These did not disappoint.
As many others have noted, they do have a high impedence so you will, if you wish to damage your ears, want a nice amplified sound card or whatnot. But even without that I think these would sound amazing still. I run mine off of my Asus ROG Maximus VIII MBs sound card (which is amplified although probably not as good as a dedicated setup) and I can't turn them all the way up. They are loud enough to be painful. The real surprise is there is almost zero distortion even at these very high volumes, the highs are sharp and clear and bass is, while not as powerful as I was hoping, deep and rich. I think if you had a good setup you could tweak it and push a bit more bass out of them though. I have run the whole shabang with them, music, a movie, and a few hours of gaming.

Cons: There is really only one thing I have to say bad about them but, I don't think it can honestly be a real reason NOT to buy them.

- Your ears will get hot. Now, again i've been wearing them, comfortably to me, for at least 6 hours now with very little time with them off and a few hours before that for a movie. I have not yet had to take them off simply because it was to hot, it does breathe, just not great. If you wear these in a hot environment (say 90+F weather) I can see it getting unbearable after a little while but in normal conditions it's fine, unless you really don't like your ears being hot.

Other Thoughts: If you want a gaming headset with exceptional build quality and very good sound quality, go for them. They are worth it if your need for quality outweighs the cost, you truly do get what you pay for here. I have no doubt these will last me a few years easy and still sound great.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound and very comfortable.

Pros: Sound great and I still wear them for a long gaming session. Sounds way better than my Razer Tiamat and I do not miss the 7.1 at all. I guess it is too hard to fit a head set with good drivers that support true 7.1 or even 5.1 for that matter.

Cons: You need a good driver for these. 150 Ohm

Other Thoughts: My sound card on the ASUS Rampage V Extreme supports this by default no problem It detects the power setting NP and sound great.

3 out of 5 eggsBuilt Like a Tank, Expensive

Pros: Built like a tank. Everything about the way they are built screams quality. The mic is very good. The sound is extremely crisp.

Cons: They are expensive, and for the price, the sound is harsh, and tinny, without putting a lot of effort into configuring equalizer options. My favourite headphones ever were a pair of Sennheiser's I both way back in the mid 90's. They went through two cables over fifteen years and had the sweetest sound you could imagine, and still did when I finally stopped using them. And probably, when you consider inflation, were equivalent in price to the G4ME ZERO, but the G4ME ZERO does not have the same sweet sound. Perhaps with a high quality discreet audio card they would sound better, but with your typical Realtek integrated sound it is very difficult to get a pleasant sound out of them, for gaming, or more general computing, such as listening to music while gaming, or for watching video. I'm also having an issue in one game where I am experiencing static, although to be fair, it's a little hard to tell whether the headphones are at fault, or whether it's the cheap extension cable I am using that is the problem.

Other Thoughts: After a lot of tweaking I am fairly happy with the sound, and I am getting used to them. It's still hard to justify the amount of money I spent on them. But if they last me 15 years like my last pair of Sennheiser's did, I may change my opinion on that...

5 out of 5 eggsPunishment tested

Pros: Side Note: Get an amplifier of some kind!

I've had this headset now for over a year, and the leatherette ear pads are just as soft as ever, still isolate noise very well, These are quite comfortable, and also extremely light. You would expect that to mean that they are cheaply made, but you would be wrong.

First things first, The cans are HUGE, I have big ears and they fit completely inside the cups without the edges of my ears touching the sides. The headband has a semi dense foam outer cover that says sennheiser across the top, and the underside of it has the same memory foam material to prevent any discomfort for extended use. The headband has a solid metal extender with grooves for extending the size, which will fit just about any head in existance, unless your head is quite small indeed. There is a swivel-joint that lets the ear cups rotate on an axis in one direction making them collapsible, this joint is also metal, The only "weak" point is the plastic fasteners for the headband to the ear cup, but I've been rough on them for the 2 years I've been using them, (Drop them, leave them laying around, pretty much moderate punishment constantly for 2 years) and they have not even come close to breaking, I suspect those fasteners may be reinforced as well.

The sound quality comes in with a closed stage feeling with closed back cans. This coupled with the dense ear pads makes for a close (small) sound stage, but when properly calibrated the BASS on these things is very loud, and tight. It is enough to vibrate the cans without much distortion of the highs and mids (if you don't have really sharp ears, you probably won't even notice the distortion, it's very good)

The drivers are large and the headphones have a very high impedance 150Ohms. This means you WILL need an amplifier (either one built into a sound card, or you can also use a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter with an optical connection to a surround sound hub (That's what I do). With out this the mids will be slightly muffled and the bass will be pretty weak and underwhelming, but the difference with and without it is like night and day. But this is still a pro, as high impedance headphones are easier to make precise adjustments with.

Cons: Like any other headset you'll get a depression in your hair from wearing them for hours, and due to the closed ear, closed foam ear pad design they do get a bit hot after extended use. Not that big a deal for me, especially since some headsets are worse about this

Other Thoughts: These things are incredible, I bought these 2 years ago, and haven't even considered the need to upgrade them. Don't get me wrong better headphones exist, better microphones exist, but it would be near-impossible to find a better headSET at this price point.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best headset for the money.

Pros: Clean, concise sound. These things are incredible. The Around ear pads are super comfortable, the sound is incredible, its flat in its response, these are audiophile grade cans. Sennheiser has put together a real quality product here. I have been looking at this set for years, never had the nerve to pull the trigger at nearly $300.... finally they dropped a bit in price and I went for it. I'm never looking back, I also purchased a Fiios E6 portable Amp, and am in heaven. These things ROCK. Give Snarky Puppy - Lingus a listen at 1080p on youtube with these babies and you will see where I'm coming from.

Cons: Have not figured a way to wear them to bed yet...... yet.

Other Thoughts: Incredible. Clean. Cool. NO CREAKING!!!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing headset

Pros: comfortable
long cord
slick looking
volume control on earcuff
almost 100% noise cancelling (can't hear people talking next to me when I'm wearing)

Cons: literally haven't found any yet

Other Thoughts: Used this for gaming, mainly counter strike global offensive (cs:go). I'm almost entirely deaf in one ear, so choosing the proper headset is really tough for me. The noise cancelling on these is so effective, I literally can't hear somebody talking to me even if they are right over my shoulder. Great audio quality too, the bass in these kicks the snot out of my old PC350's I'm coming from.

Nothing bad to say about these, wasn't sure if they warranted the hefty price tag, but I can honestly say this headset is perfect for me.

5 out of 5 eggsSennheiser g4me zero review

Pros: Great sound quality

Great Microphone quality

Easy to mute flip-up microphone

Comfortable and adjustable

Very long cable, which is a big plus

Easy to clean/care for

After getting a soundcard they produced sound properly, I turned off any special soundcard 'effects' and put a flat equalizer and the headphones produced great quality afterwards

Cons: Requires a sound card, if not used with a soundcard the headphones will always sound 'weak'.

The volume adjustment on the headset itself is a very small range, meaning all your volume adjustment must be done via your soundcard itself.. Takes a while to get a perfect volume - Wish the on-headset adjustment made it way louder like other headsets but I'm not big in the audio knowledge so maybe there is a reason for this limiting factor."

Extremely expensive, it's a good product for sure.. but the price doesn't feel just.

Other Thoughts: I should of gotten the open-ear edition, closed ear is great for the gaming I do. But the fact is the frequency range is worse on closed ear and positional audio is much better on open-ear.

I contacted sennheiser to see if I could replace the closed ear edition with the open-ear edition and they did not agree which upset me because it's under warranty and working fine, I could of even shipped back in the original box which I still have.

Be careful adjusting equalizer bands, raising a frequency by even a small amount can produce an unheard pitch which will cause ear pain and headaches.

If you want to use the 'crystalizer' use it on a low setting like 23% and if you do use crystalizer you must set windows speaker configuration to disable 'high range speakers' because it will give you headaches. High range speakers allows very low and very high frequencies to go through to your headphones instead of 'filtering' them out.

To use those and not get a headache, you must disable the crystalizer entirely in my experience. I currently disabled crystalizer entirely and just use the high range speaker setting via windows speaker configuration. You can configure this in playback devices. I also use stereo mode for these headphones.

Hope this info helps, enjoy.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Headphones

Pros: Hands down the best headphones I've ever owned. Great quality of sound, nice and loud, and the noise cancelling is top notch.

These are also extremely comfortable - most other sets I've owned have a tenancy to dig into the top of my head or crush my ears. These fit nicely and with the large ear cups you forget you're wearing them.

Cons: The only con I can see with these is you will most likely need an amp to get the best quality from this headset. They still function perfectly fine when using my on-board sound card (sound quality is great) although they are a tad on the quiet side.

Other Thoughts: Overall great buy. I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a solid set of headphones for gaming or music.
