5 out of 5 eggs4 years and still going strong

Pros: I've used this for going on 4 years now. It's gone through several moves, and I've used both the edge clamp, and drill-through mount. Never had any problems, this thing is fantastic!

Maneuverable, sturdy, and it fits standard mounting holes on every monitor I've had.

Cons: When packing up, I suppose the arm could be awkwardly shaped? I suppose if there were some lock at 90 degree angles for rotating, it'd be great, but so very not necessary.

Other Thoughts: Originally bought this for my 24" Dell Ultrasharp, and since moved on to the 27" QNIX... Handled both flawlessly, and now I"m considering buying a second one. Don't hesitate on this one, it's amazing, and I'm generally a cynical dude...

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy, well made, works so far

Pros: Pros: I bought this for my Cintiq 21UX so I could move it around when/where I needed it. I have wrist problems (ganglion cyst in my drawing wrist) so a lot of strain can cause pain over time. Someone at my office has one with the extension arm on his 22HD and he loved it, so I decided to try one for myself. As soon as I opened the box I could tell it was sturdy and heavy, which was reassuring to support a 20lb $1500 monitor. The instructions are a bit unclear at some points, with very few words and mostly pictures (brings me back to putting together Ikea furniture...) but after a few hours I got it hooked onto the back of my desk, mounted it to the VESA on the Cintiq after some trial and error and got it all put together. However, I noticed sagging, it wouldn't stay up in the air. After a while I found the tension screw and tightened it quite a bit, and that fixed the problem, so it can support a 20lb monitor up in the air with no problems that I can tell so far. I can easily move it out of the way when I play a game, or bring it right into my lap when I want to draw, it's pretty amazing. I have the FREDDE desk from IKEA, so if anyone is curious, it does fit onto that desk with no problems (other than cheap desk construction, the area that it's attached to can get a bit wobbly from the weight when I move it, so just be cautious and make sure the desk is secured well). Will update after a while to see if my opinion changes, overall seems like a well made and sturdy product.

Cons: only cons i can think of are unclear instructions, and there are two sets of screws for the same VESA holes, so not sure why two sets of the same size screws were provided, preference I guess? no idea.

4 out of 5 eggsREVIEW THE TALL VERSION FIRST

Pros: sturdy, easy and simple enough to install. cable management is nice

(Please refer to my other thoughts section)

Cons: TOO SHORT, FOR ME (Please refer to my other thoughts section)

the vertical swivel that's closest to the monitor can be hard to move. sometimes i got scared that i'd bend or break my monitor. but maybe i just have to find the right technique

Other Thoughts: Before you decide to buy this, LOOK AT THE TALLER VERSION and pay attention to the kind of posture you want and measure your desired monitor height.

This model, the 45-241-026, has the pole height of 7" whereas the taller version has a pole height of 13"-14", I forget the exact remaining cm length.

The arms themselves can only extend so high - vertically. I'm 5"9 and I'm using a HAG Capisco Puls chair at 21.5" high with a table that's 29.5" off the ground, and this 7" pole could not get my monitor high enough for me to maintain a healthy, upright, comfortable posture.

With the 7" pole, I have to tilt my head forward, which adds forward weight to my neck, then makes me bend my back. THAT'S ALL BAD for my health!

I just RMA'd it and bought the 13"-14" pole version, installed it, AND THANK GOODNESS I DID. It gives me the option to go low if I WANT TO, but I don't because I want the height of my monitor to promote good healthy overall posture.

So do your research before buying this one!!! The Taller version might be better for you!!!

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, especially for the price

Pros: Very easy to install.
Very sturdy
Huge range of movement: Up, Down, Left, Right, Rotate, what more could you want?

Cons: The second section of the arm doesn't have any cable management. You're supposed to just use the included zip ties. I didn't both, it's not a big deal to have the cords hang down an inch

Other Thoughts: When I opened the box I thought the install was going to be rough because they include lots of extra pieces and parts but it ended up being super simple. Took 5-10 minutes grand total.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mount

Pros: *Great and sturdy mount.
*Supports my 27" Asus Monitor.
*Incredible range of motions

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This mount doesn't advertise that it works for 27" monitors, but it does anyway, and like a charm. Perhaps a 27" is a touch too big for the arm, but tightening a few of the joints made it sturdy enough to hold its positions. A+

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: Price
Fit & finish
Adjustability
All the parts needed
Easy installation in less than 30 minutes

Cons: Some reviewers reported easily broken monitor mounting thumbscrews so I didn't use them.

Other Thoughts: I had previously purchased the wall-mount version of this product for a different application and have been very happy with that unit's quality and function. I am even more impressed with this desk-mount version. The base bracket is very substantial and nicely finished. Included are parts to mount simply with a clamp or even more securely with an additional through-the-desk bolt (that will require drilling). I opted for the simple method which seems entirely adequate for my application. I am using the Egrotron Arm with a 30" LCD display that just fit within the Ergotron's 20 pound weight spec. For no reason I can understand, Ergotron's spec lists a limit of monitor size to 24" but I have no stability problem with my much bigger screen. The arm has allowed me reclaim most of my desk when I'm not using the monitor, pushing the screen almost to the back of the desk. The arm's weight adjustment range is more than adequate to keep the monitor at any height within the arm's range. The Ergotron Arm has converted my brutishly hulking 30" monitor into a tidy desk accessory.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Can position monitor to to any way I desire, very sturdy and well built.

Cons: Does take a bit of extra space behind my desk for some positions I need.

Other Thoughts: Using for 2 24" wide displays that can be position both landscape and portrait -- also can angle back (way back if needed) for low display positioning for ergonomics.
