5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: I've had two of these for almost a year now, they look great compared to older monitors I've used. No dead pixels, quick response time, I wish newegg still sold them.

Cons: No longer available, I wanted a third. Also, since I have two, one of the power lights is brighter than the other. Small complaint, but worth noting.

Other Thoughts: 100% brightness is the default, and it's much too bright. Put it at 30% and it's perfect for me.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: good resolution

Cons: I have dual monitors, when my computer is asleep and I wake it, this monitor never comes on by itself, while my other monitor does. I always have to turn the power off and than back on before it works. It's really annoying.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works but not the best

Pros: It's a good deal when it's on sale. The screen is big and bright.

Cons: maybe because it's my first LED backlight monitor, I feel the backligh is too bright for me. Need time to get use to it.

Other Thoughts: NO HDMI, need buy a HDMI to DVI cabel for dual monitor setup.

3 out of 5 eggsLove the screen, hate the RMA

Pros: Nice display. No dead Pixels. Good contrast ratio, responsive enough. People complain about the lack of a Vesa mount. Not a problem for me.

Affordable with the discount newegg was offering at the time

Cons: Had two machines:

One new Pavilion P1227c running native Radeon HD graphics. Win7 Home 64 bit
One home build. Phenom X4 840, 1tb Seagate HD 4GM Ram, Windows 7 32bit

One Nvidia GTS 450 card to test with
Two DVI cables
One VGA cable
One Adaptor DVI Male to VGA female.

So the plan was to get the new monitor working with the new PC. Had the old Setup feeding from DVI to DVI - didn't work. Tried the connection with the DVI to VGA adaptor in the monitors VGA port. Worked.

So I did some experimentation.
Was it the cable: tried another DVI - didn't work
Was it the PC, swapped the cables over - didn't work.

So, do I give the RMA a go. Or use the Iron egg Guarantee. I thought to myself: I'll give it a go on the RMA. Big Mistake.

Supplied the:
Model,
Serial
Date of Manufacture
All my details to facilitate the RMA

Went round the houses with all the things I was asked to check. Clearly there's an issue somewhere needing some expert technical assistance.

Clearwater support are very good at their jobs. They took my concern once the details had been given and we went through the steps again together.

Raising an RMA, was a little more fun. Establishing the date of purchase, I supplied the newegg invoice (minus costs).

The response was that they needed the monetary value to work out if the item was a refurb or not. I'm thinking. Serial number, date of manufacture (Sep 2012). Not a big stretch to establish that its not a refurb with the date of purchase and DOM being so close together. I'm wary about providing more details than necessary to outside subcontract agencies - as anyone should be.

I believe its been resolved now but I do believe that a little streamlining of the process is in order. If it comes to getting a refund I'll certainly pass the details regarding cost.

Other Thoughts: Hanns G and Clearwater have done wonders in the past few years to improve their customer service organization and it shows.

They should be commending for the improvements to their service arm. But I think whats needed is a crisper response sometimes. I have a spare monitor I can use so I'm not greatly inconvenienced. But the user who's buying a monitor for a box-build who doesn't have a spare. Thats going to be a problem.

We haven't even got to establishing the company's TAT performance once the item is in their hands. But I'm hopeful that going to be as positive an experience its been dealing with their customer support teams.. will update when that happens.

4 out of 5 eggsCost-Effective Solution

Pros: - Reasonably high quality
- Excellent price-point for sub-large screen display
- Nice aesthetics

Cons: - Feels somewhat flimsy in comparison to the earlier 241 model sitting next to it which has a sturdier and more balanced mounting
- Requires an A/C adapter (included) and dispenses with the conventional wall-socket/powerbar-to-device approach.

Other Thoughts: As always, quite happy with NewEgg. Ordered Friday afternoon before a long-weekend, and received on Tuesday (although I had the usual tiff with the delivery service) and had to go out of my way to retrieve it, that's hardly NE's fault.

4 out of 5 eggsMissing parts

Pros: Looks good.
Great bargain for the price, very few 23+ monitors in this range.
No dead pixels or damage

Cons: UPS mishandled the box and now the base plate screw and DVI cables are missing. Not the producers fault but still makes me quiet upset.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitors

Pros: Price, Newegg RMA, Size

Cons: No HDMI connection, speakers weak

Other Thoughts: First time I had to RMA an item from Newegg. Very easy and quick though I did have to pay the return shipping. (I've saved many times that amount by shopping Newegg.) I've bought many Hanns-G monitors, and this is the only failure. It would shut down after 30 seconds and only restart after cooling, then shut down again.
