3 out of 5 eggsAffordable, not sure yet on Dependable

Pros: * Good monitor for price

Cons: * Adjustments don't really do anything as far as picture quality.
* Color accuracy not bad (after you calibrate).
* Not as vibrant as an expensive monitor, but for the price who cares.
* Had one monitor die randomly after 1 year of use, more info below.
* Only 1yr warranty on backlights. Hope the backlight doesn't go out!

Other Thoughts: * The adjustments not actually doing anything I'm referring to Brightness, Contrast, etc. For instance the brightness and contrast should adjust your peak white and black levels, it's actually just increasing the backlight.
* Precalibrated the gamma clocked in at 2.6 with a delta e of 3.67. Grayscale was up and down but generally all colors were too washed out, with red being way to low compared to green and blue. The brights were way too bright, but generally the whole thing is too bright, especially blues and greens.
* Postcalibrated I was able to clock it in a lot better, but not great. Gamma at 2.17, delta e still at 3.67. Now my greens are a little sharp on the darks, not enough on highs, while blues and reds are opposite. It sounds bad but it's a lot better than it was stock. However I've got it next to of my 27" IPS Korean specials and it's good enough now that I have no reason to swap it out. Did take almost all my settings being set manually in Nvidia's drivers.
* I use one as a secondary, and one for gaming on the weekends for my buddies. The gaming one started randomly shutting off a few weeks ago, probably bad cap or caps. Hanns-G RMA isn't the greatest, but I was able to get it to them and back for about 20$ and two weeks. I don't know how these are going to hold up in the long run but I'm glad I bought the extended warranty.

* BOTTOM LINE is this monitor is great for what I paid, until these Korean's started showing up I was looking at 700+ plus for monitors this size, now the whole market is changing and even Dell is bringing down their 27 IPS's to compete. I recommend extended warranty and don't expect it to be top of the line for the price.

2 out of 5 eggsgood product, if you buy the extended warranty

Pros: Good for price, solid work and gaming monitor..

Cons: worked out of the box, 7 months later I have a teal blue vertical line, bout to shove it off my desk. always, always, always buy the extended warranty. stupid, stupid, stupid..figured it would work for a few years and by then I'd go bigger with better resolution..stupid gamble.

Other Thoughts: sometimes you get what you pay for, other times not so much. not sure if $25 bucks a month for one monitor im about to smash is worth it. look for my destruction vid on youtube..shotgun style.

1 out of 5 eggsThis monitor is garbage

Pros: Big
Inexpensive
Good picture

Cons: Cheap (different than inexpensive)
Poor manufacturer support

Other Thoughts: This monitor lasted only a few months, just after the manufacturer warranty ran out. I got the fairly common white screen of death (google it). Its a cheap and inexpensive monitor, but basically a waste of money.

1 out of 5 eggs2 bad ones

Pros: It's a 27" monitor for $250, which is hard to beat. It's also exceedingly bright.

1200px high is where it's at.

Cons: The first one I ordered had a spot of 20-30 brighter-than-the-others pixels in the middle. NewEgg, being awesome, replaced it for me.

The second one doesn't run at full resolution reliably. If I'm playing video games (off a PC) or just browsing the internet (off a Mac), the screen will reboot every 20 minutes or so, leaving me displayless for about 5 seconds.

(I originally thought this was my underpowered graphics card, but now that I've seen the display do this on 2 different computers, I've changed my theory. It took me about 6 months to figure it out).

I wouldn't buy another one.

5 out of 5 eggsGamble Paid Off !

Pros: BIG ... Cheap ... Adequate controls/osd menu system. I just couldn't be happier unless I bought 2. I bought this as a manufacturer's refurb from newegg in January. While I see many people complain about dead pixels and short life. I have been lucky I guess. 0(zero) dead pixels ... works like its supposed to. This unit has been on all day every day for a year now ... no problems.

Cons: I shoulda' bought 2!

5 out of 5 eggs11months and counting

Pros: Still bright as ever 11 months after buying. I use it heavily. MANY hours a day for gaming, college, and just learning different programs. Has been great for video editing too!

Cons: None that I could think of. It might be bright but i've found software that reduces its brightness past the settings that it comes with.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for - broke after 11 months

Pros: Cheap, very large for the price you pay. I upgraded from a 21.5 wide screen, and it was quite mind-blowing. I feel as if it actually made gaming harder (initially) since it was harder to grasp the full scene in a single glance.
Has a higher resolution than most monitors at 1920x1200 , most monitors these days are 1920x1080, so not only does the monitor have a physically larger size, it also has more screen real-estate.

Cons: The monitor broke on me about 11 months into ownership. I was stuck with a solid white screen. It was still under warranty so I was able to get it repaired. Here is a tip, keep the original box. I spent weeks looking through the garbage at my apartment to find a box I could use to mail it back (otherwise it was going to be ~$100 to pack and ship it back via UPS). I managed to repack and send it for repair at around $30 from USPS. Keep this extra cost in mind when buying a cheap monitor like this.
It also scrambles the screen on occasion (all the pixels pop up in the wrong place). This usually only happens if I leave my computer on for an extended period of time and the monitor goes to sleep. Easily fixed by turning the monitor on/off.

Other Thoughts: Feels very cheap, this monitor is bare bones. I upgrade from a Dell 2005fpw (old but still nice), and the Hanns-G pales in comparison. The Hanns-G has a very cheap plastic feel, the very bare minimum in terms of inputs, and no swiveling base. Hard to determine which button is which due to poor labeling.
Knowing what I do now, I would have bought a higher quality monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsMonitor is good, but has a few issues

Pros: Nice big display. Image quality looks pretty good to me. Not too heavy.

Cons: The control and power buttons. They are on the bottom and hard to find. Also not really labeled so hard to know what button does what. Pretty annonying. Also the monitor stand is not really very adjustable. Pretty much stuck with the position the monitor is in.
