5 out of 5 eggsExcellent display

Pros: I bought this monitor for gaming and it is awesome! It's very bright. I had to turn down the default brightness because it was hurting my eyes. I've had it for a year now and have no complaints.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: I got a great price for this 1080p 27" monitor. I sent the rebate in to ASUS and it was approved, no problem.
Speakers sound nice (I'm using HDMI audio in). They're not super high quality speakers, but they're better than I expected from built-in speakers. The display is nice and bright and looks very good in general.

Cons: Not much of a con, but I did find one dead pixel on arrival. It took about 5 minutes of searching to find. It's in the top right, and is not at all noticeable unless you're really searching for it.

Other Thoughts: As others have noted, when set to 1920x1080 resolution, there's a black border around the screen. To fix this you have to adjust your scaling options. For me (I've got a Radeon HD 6750) I did this through the Catalyst Control Center under "My Digital Flatpanel" >> "Scaling Options (Digital Flatpanel)" and then setting the slider to 0%.

2 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: Big screen, On sale for $199.

Cons: WAY TOO BIG IN SIZE AND HEAVY, STAND IS NOT STABLE AND WOBBLY. Speakers are bad quality unless you use HDMI audio and they still sound bad. NO HDMI TO HDMI cable in box!!! Have to over scale to get full 1080p display and it looks magnified. Viewing angle is TERRIBLE. Splendid looks bad no matter which mode I use. Colors are off. Contrast sucks. WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN.

Other Thoughts: Asus support was useless, rude, uneducated and argued with me. Asus should just stick to making motherboards. This experience has lowered my opinion of Asus. I thought I was going to get a top of the line 27" monitor and I feel like I got conned. I shouldn't have to overscale to get the full resolution out of my monitor. I feel like returning this and buying a Viewsonic. They make great monitors that I probably would not need to overscale.

I will probably sell this. I'd rather sit on my 22" 5 year old Acer LCD.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat after overscale

Pros: $199 27" monitor! Looks great.

Cons: I had a black border in 1080p mode, and had to overscale the monitor. It's not overly intuitive to do, so that was annoying... ASUS customer support was worthless. They told me the monitor was broken and to send it back. I read posts on here first, and solved it. No complaints now!

5 out of 5 eggsMy Big 27In

Pros: Beautiful wide screen with plenty of control over the settings. Remote is quite helpfull as well, and as always New Egg is awsome for their product delivery, documentation and customer service.
Sound is good too but am running a Logitec 5.1 w/sub at 75 watts so the sound doesn't matter too much. A real Nice display that STAYS COOL!!

Cons: If i had to pick one, it would be it is a bit tedious when everything is plugged in upon startup for input select, it was slightly challenging the get the OSD to come up and change inputs to HDMI1.Mostly it was Op error since I wasnt familiar with it, but that took 3 minutes to get past...
otherwise NONE...

Other Thoughts: I love it! and think I got the last one... sorry for you all!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement

Pros: The color quality is great and the speakers aren't half bad either. I noticed others mentioned dead pixels but I have not seen a single one on mine. Been using Asus products for a long time and after my old 21" monitor started to die I happened to stumble across this one just in time. With the MiR this monitor came out to be the best deal on a 27" monitor I have ever run across.

Cons: n/a

4 out of 5 eggsJust got it

Pros: Great price and man is this thing big. Crystal clear not dead pixels. Did I mention this thing is big. I use to for flying online and it brings the PMDG 737NGX cockpit to a whole new level.

Cons: It didn't come with a HDCP compatible cord. I was able to get one for less then 5 bucks with free shipping from another site. No other cons as of now.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge bargain for huge screen

Pros: Price, screen size, & bright.

Cons: The weird flower looking design on bottom, built in speakers are cheap, but I have better speakers and headset so not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I read a lot of people had issues with dead pixels and hoped mine didn't have any, I noticed a couple grey pixels on white background (looked almost like dust) and after a few minutes the pixels came unstuck. IIRC if they are black then they are dead. The monitor is about as tall as my Antec df-85 case.
