5 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor

Pros: Great monitor. Two dvi ports for connecting two computers and front placed button to switch between connections. Usb hub with 4 ports two on bottom 2 on side. I got three and one was defective but RMA was quick and easy. I do hope when monitor 4 arrives it works but so far very pleased.

Cons: One had to be sent back but still worth it.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good monitor. Very solid, large viewing area and nice extra features

5 out of 5 eggs2/3 ain't bad.

Pros: Excellent stand. Narrow bezel.

Cons: Color/brightness inconsistent between the 3 I bought.
2 are a fairly close match. 3rd is slightly darker has a brown hue. It's easier to tell since I had them stand side by side.
Luck of the draw I guess.

Other Thoughts: I am slightly disappointed I couldn't get all three to have closer brightness/color settings. I bought 3 to set up a triple display config for racing/flight sims. They appear to be fast enough for this use.
Even when reset to factory specs, 1 out of 3 is still noticeably off.
The best solution so far was to tweak the color profiles with NVIDIA drivers. And I cannot find any ICC profiles that are specific for this monitor.
With this said, they are excellent monitors, with an excellent stand.
At this price, 5 stars is well deserved, as there is nothing wrong with the monitors individually. A little bit more tweaking will be necessary to get them to work as I initially planned.

1 out of 5 eggseverything but working

Pros: Newegg shipping was fast as always. Great stand! Any way you want to position it, it pretty much can. 2 DVI. Great reviews by others.

Cons: Can't believe this left the refurb department or really bad packing. Not sure which!

Other Thoughts: Arrived almost to fast. Opened box and the way it was packed, the back of the stand was touching the box. This may have allowed impacts to occur to it. Also when looking at the back plate of the screen, it appeared that holes were missing all the screws and possibly allowing damage to occur. Either way, it did not work properly and sending back. Now its sold out, so cannot get another. To bad, was great deal and maybe worth it for just that stand.

5 out of 5 eggsRare Opportunity

Pros: One of the best non-widescreen monitors ever made with all the bells and whistles.

Cons: Can't buy 'em new anymore

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of these a week apart (when they were a penny short of seventy delivered). The first had 34256 hours on it and the second 27887, so my guess is these are recently off lease (read limited supply) from a company that had them on 24/7 considering thay were manufactured 7/2008 and 5/2009 respectively. HP rated these at 50K hours to half brightness under normal thermal cycles (wear and tear, on and off), but 24/7 use actually extends that so these monitors should easily have another 2-3 years usable life left in them before the backlight goes. Considering the quality/features of this monitor, the usable life left, and the price, it's an outstanding value if you're in the market for a 5:4 monitor. Oh, and 100% perfect pixels on both.

5 out of 5 eggsVery satisfied

Pros: i bought 2 of those for my daughters systems...i was very surprised with the quality and condition of those monitors.

Cons: none that i can see

Other Thoughts: i was affraid to buy referbished monitors but the ones i got were pretty much like new. the only signs of use that i noticed were 2 little tiny scratch on the stands of the monitors.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor

Pros: Beautiful picture, slim design, heavy base. Great color, 2 dvi ports and a usb hub. Would be great in a 2 server config.

Cons: The monitor seems a little to sensitive to touch. Most monitors you can kinda touch with your finger (I know you don't have to) this one instantly goes all wonky when you touch it.

Other Thoughts: I am using this monitor as a headless server head. It came in a brown box, it was clean and works as described. excellent deal for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat find!

Pros: The HP LP1965 is a great find, especially at $80.00! The image quality is good, good features (adjustable tilt, swivel, rotation and height.)

And no dead pixels!! (Life's little pleasures.)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A DVI cable was included!

5 out of 5 eggsIt's back!

Pros: This monitor has all the hard-to-find stats in one package: 8-bit P-VA panel, 4:3 aspect ratio, dual DVI, adjustable stand, USB ports, VESA mounts. The first one alone is worth twice the price even for a refurb.

Cons: Can't find an excuse to get another

Other Thoughts: While I didn't buy this exact refurb model I actually searched for this discontinued monitor a year ago to complement my 2475w from HP. This monitor was among the quality VA panels made before the rise of TN panels. Today you have 2 choices, cheap TN or expensive IPS monitors. It seems VA panels are few and far between these days. Not quite as good as IPS but light-years better than TN. Older customers of mine still want 4:3 aspect without a super-high native resolution for their waning eyes. This is perfect for those situations. 1280x1024 native res, VA panel and cheap. I'm barely in my thirties and I'm already saying "they don't make em like they used to".

5 out of 5 eggsRefurbished LP1965 - Rebirth of a Champion

Pros: image quality (crisp, clear, vivid, and smooth in motion), features (hdcp, dual DVI, and adjustable height-tilt-swivel-rotate), and price.

Cons: HP stopped making them.

Other Thoughts: A friend picked up one of these when they came out in early '07, and when I saw it I immediately regretted buying my Samsung 930B just a few months before. The LP1965 is simply one of the best 5:4 monitors ever made IMHO. The Samsung died recently and I needed another native 1280x1024 monitor but the pickings were slim and questionable. When I saw this at Newegg on Black Friday I couldn't believe it. I ordered it right away, Newegg did the usual great job in packaging and shipping, and as I write am viewing this on a like-new (originally built July 2008 - the only clue it's a refurb is little wear marks on top of the base only) perfectly pixeled wish-I-had-bought-this-in-the-first-place monitor. Thank you Newegg and U.S. Micro for lending new life to otherwise discontinued quality products, and providing them at such a reasonable price (even with the additional cost for and extended warranty).
