My first Seagate

Pros: So far, so good. The reviews i read were so-so but the price was so cheap so I bought it anyway. Well, so far it has been a great HDD. I am using is as storage so it isn't being hit all the time but when I do, it is fast and solid.

Stay away from this hard drive.

Pros: None.
Cons: Bought two, one was DOA. Unfortunately installed it after 30 days, so could not exchange it.

Defective unit exchanged under warranty, replacement is getting read/write errors right out of the box.
Other Thoughts: Zero should be allowable rating.

Pros: 1.5TB for $90.00 (on sale); awesome! Very low power consumption; quiet and cool-running.
Cons: Like all the "green" mechanical hard drives on the market so far, slow. Apparently high failure rate.
Other Thoughts: This drive works for me. I'm using it in a fanless mini-ITX system with a 120 watt power supply, so low power consumption and low heat are necessities. This drive is strictly being used for high-capacity storage (mostly video [my "boot" drive is an 80GB Intel SSD]). The long-term durability of this drive is a open question, but for now, I'm happy with it.
