3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Unique drive because it physically is very small.

Cons: Doesn't work

Other Thoughts: It doesn't work, never did, however for $4 and free shipping, it was worth it to add to my collection.

5 out of 5 eggsIf you have an IoMagic USB enclosure...

Pros: Although mine was a 12 gb drive and this is a 6. IoMagic's Gigabank has a tendency to overheat. Take it apart carefully and you can replace your dead Gigabanks with these. I doubt the unit will tack kindly to me replacing the drive all the time but had to buy just to see if it'd fit them. It does just fine.

Cons: Haven't run into any. Although wish they sold a 12 gb to replace the Seagate that was originally in there. And as the I/O Magic has poor ventalation I've always taken care to avoid it getting warm.

Other Thoughts: Hey if you have those Gigabanks. Now's the perfect time to use them again. Fairly good chance though you'll have to dump the rubber around the original drive.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy did I buy these?

Pros: None

Cons: No adaptor cable, make sure you know what you're buying.

Other Thoughts: Hah... I have no idea why I bought these. I thought they looked cool, so I bought them. Turns out you can't buy an adapter cable... hah.

5 out of 5 eggsProbably not what you think it is...

Pros: This is a great price if you need these.

Cons: If you are buying them to use as cheap drives with an adapter, you should know that these are not standard 1.8" zif microdrives (40 pin). The connector is a 1mm 35pin (.3mm pitch) Hirose FH26 connector (FH26-35S-0.3SHW(05)), and although it is ATA, I believe the pinout is nonstandard, too. You very likely won't find a *cheap* chinese adapter. I haven't.

Other Thoughts: Google for "35-pin pata"

4 out of 5 eggsNOT for Creative Zen Touch

Pros: It's a Hitachi, and it's refurbished, so probably not too, too much. But price and free shipping!

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to fix my Creative Zen Touch 20GB MP3 player. For this price, I didn't research it too much. It does NOT fit, that MP3 player uses a larger drive with what looks like a standard laptop IDE connector. Searching on E*b*a*y found many people selling these to fix the iPod Mini.

3 out of 5 eggsMicrodrive

Pros: Great price for a curiosity item - didn't I see them for hundreds of dollars years ago?

Cons: none for me

Other Thoughts: I bought one for my collection of old hardware and one for the local community college tech center's display cases of early computer storage devices.

4 out of 5 eggsOther Uses

Pros: Ordered 2 for this price, are a steal if you know what they are. As a previous reviewer stated, they are ZIF - PATA connector. What they did not know is converters exist for under 4 dollars on another HK site, for 1.8" / 2.5" 50 pin / 3.5" 40 pin and sata...

Cons: ...
