1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: Still waiting for over a month for this part to be delivered and all NewEgg can say is that it's not their fault. The lack of service and shuffling of blame is the worst I have ever encountered. PERIOD.

1 out of 5 eggsburn 3 $ 100.00 bills. Stay AWAY

Pros: Are you kidding? If I could give it a quarter star I would.

Cons: The joke was on me for buying this pig. I never achieved the speed that was promised.. I used it mostly for backup. DON"T !! Got blue screens of death after 6 months. I thought the OS load was just corrupted and needed to be reloaded. It was worse than that. This is NOT on Newegg at all. I notice it's hard to find 5 year warranted drives anymore. I can see why. Very expensive lesson.

Other Thoughts: You might as well burn 3 $100.00 bills. You'll get just as far. I can see why Big Blue sold off this division. BTW, I ran their factory test on it. It FAILED on surface. I have 2 Western Digital drives I have been using. Guess what? I'll be staying with them from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid hard drive

Pros: 2TB of storage, 7200 RPM, 64MB
No corruption, breakdown, overheating, anything

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend an SSD to store your operating system in

1 out of 5 eggsdead junk

Pros: worked...for awhile.

Cons: Used this to store movies and pics and back up valuable data. All gone..poof! That dreaded clicking noise. After all the years of experience and reasearch into making HDDs why is the failure rate still so high?

Other Thoughts: Every drive should come with retrieval insurance included. What good is a replacement on a failed drive if you loose the data? Do you really want another drive from the same MFG?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speeds!

Pros: Very fast - Just recently bought a WD black and this drive blows the WD black away! (I record with Dxtory a lot for my YouTube channel and with Dxtory benchmark this drive is about 125 were the Wd Black is only about 80.)
Reliable- I bought this drive in 2012 not one problem with it.

Cons: No longer for sale on Newegg :( , Shame this drive isn't available anymore I would have bought another one of these over the WD black I bought.

Other Thoughts: I didn't expect this drive to be as fast as it is. Its a great HDD so far and If it was still available I would get another.

3 out of 5 eggsTwo Died

Pros: Price

Cons: Started clicking with no warning. 2 of them died within 1 month of each other. They are less than a year old. They are probably not selling them anymore because of weak production quality. I suggest you look for Hitachi HDS723020BLA642 on the back of your drive, backup and repalce it as soon as you can.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy

1 out of 5 eggsHard Drive Failure

1 out of 5 eggsNO RELIABILITY

Pros: Amount of storage, price

Cons: Not reliable, used only for backup, very limited hours. Drive now failed after only 12 backups. Backup consists of only using robocopy to copy changed files

Other Thoughts: First Time I have used Hitachi drives. I purchased 2 of these drives to use for backup, since usage would be limited. Should spent more for Seagate or WD.

3 out of 5 eggsFianlly I got 2TB

Pros: I finally found the full 2 TB

Cons: I had to return it because it showed up as having 32GB or something. When I received the replacement it showed 1 Tb and not 2? I was running XP and the toaster style drive holder I was using via eSata only supported 1TB. But after upgrading my MB I discovered that even under Win 7 Pro it only showed 1 TB?

After a bit of web detective work I found that a utility Ddat2 lite was able to unlock and reveal the full capacity of the drive! Kind of a scary looking utility to use by the seat of your pants. I wouldn't do it with data on it.

What in the H*LL is this all about???

Are they making 2TB drives and then setting the capacity depending upon what they need to sell that week?
