5 out of 5 eggsOnce again. Newegg comes through

Pros: Ordered this item on a Sunday, chose the cheapest shipping option (99 cents) and it was on my front porch by Tuesday. Outstanding customer service Newegg!!

Ordered this to replace a full size flash drive that had been tweaked and was spotty on reliability. Drive is super small and works as advertised. Very happy.

Cons: I asked it to fix me a drink, and it just sat there :(

Other Thoughts: It's super small. Don't lose it!

4 out of 5 eggsNo longer a micro reader

Pros: can reduce protrusion to 3.3mm if plastic face removed and shield/flash memory glued together. If you do this, you'll probably also want to add some sort of pull tab or string and maybe roughen the sides of the metal shield so you can get a grip on it.

Cons: Protrudes 5.7mm; closer to flush would be nice

Other Thoughts: Verbatim has, I suppose, sold enough of these to redesign them so that the USB interface and flash memory are now a single integrated thin plastic component rather than a micro-SD reader plus a 4GB micro-SD flash card as it was originally.

Write speeds of 5.37MB/s and read speed 13.2MB/s are neither very good nor very bad. Passed h2tesw write/verify of all accessible space.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 2 days

Pros: Small, Free Shipping so when it died, I was only out $8

Cons: Lasted 2 days. Used it for MP3's on a Kenwood head unit. Plugged it in and it died the next day. None of my PCs will recognize the drive either. Dead. Waited too long to load the songs and use it, cannot return it. Purchased the Sandisk Cruzer Fit 4GB as a replacement and it is working fine. Makes you wonder who works in the quality control department at Verbatim...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfect

Pros: It's small enough to fit in my father's rav4 usb slot and he doesn't even know it's there. The read/write speeds are great. Write speed is about 11mb/s, which exceeded my expectation. The pinout is very tight and snug. It's snug enough that it isn't going anywhere unless you want to remove it.

Cons: It's small enough to easily get lost.

Other Thoughts: I ordered it late Friday night and received it at about 1pm on Monday. Newegg never fails to deliver. Excellent shipping and handling. Apparently you can use this thing as a microsd reader. I haven't pulled the plastic casing off yet as I believe it will void any warranty. I bought this over another similar product because I could potentially replace the sd card if I ever need to expand the storage. I can't say much for longevity yet but it works well so far.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a micro sd card reader!

Pros: Awesome! take the plastic bit off the back, and you will find a really small micro sd card reader with a 4gb card in it! Awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsActually a MicroSD card in a reader

Coming Soon!

Pros: Tiny, was a good price. In the end will be perfect for my project. Seemed sturdy, had to use pliers to remove the plastic casing. Technically doubles as a MicroSD card reader if you can get the old one out.

Cons: No mention of it being a MicroSD in a reader; not a big deal to me but may be to others. Easily not the best idea for long term use because with this design there are more contacts to be eroded and is more likely to fail sooner than one that isn't a reader.

Other Thoughts: Being the nerd that I am, I was actually very intrigued by how they did this, and found it quite ingenious, if not a little shady.

3 out of 5 eggsKind of works.

Pros: Size factor, great for bootable drive
Price

Cons: Size factor, easily misplaced
Didn't completely work for me (See other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: Used as a bootable drive for XBMC, worked fine but couldn't get to work with FreeNAS and had to go buy a different drive from a big box store.
