5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performer

Pros: Not only do these RAM modules add some flare and style to your build; they actually perform very well. I originally purchased (2) 4 GB sticks for 8GB and it suited me well for the past year. Recently, I actually purchased another 8GB of the exact same and cannot be happier. My motherboard (ASUS microATX Gene V) has had no issues reading or utilizing the memory efficiently. I've noticed a slight boost in everything from startup to gaming, and I don't think you can ever have TOO MUCH memory. This will easily last me another 1-2 years before I completely upgrade.

Cons: Cost, but you pay for the best.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these due to the 7 CAS latency rating. I cannot compare to the other model offerings with 9, but the minimal cost difference....when considering what you're already paying....made me go with the 7. I am glad I did, this stuff is blazingly efficient.

5 out of 5 eggsFast. Low cycle.

Pros: Runs very cool. Nice heat spreaders. Does what it says.

Cons: Had to set spd in bios from 1333 to 1600.

Other Thoughts: Won't OC past 210 bus freq. @1.6v. Didn't try higher voltage.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome set

Pros: Bought this set from azon, because of mastercard deal.

Very overclockable. I am running my kit right now at 1616 7-7-7-18, PL8, trfc 90, command rate 1T at 1.58V.

My rig:

Intel Xeon x5470 w/ sticker mod. Overclocked to 4.655Ghz, 1.43125V core voltage, 1.36 vtt.
Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E w/ 2 Delta 150 CFM fans and Thermalright TY-143 fan in the middle.
Gigabyte EP45T-USB3P
Evga 580 Classified Ultra
Samsung 840 evo 500 Gb
Crucial m4 256 Gb
Seasonic 1000W Platinum psu

Cons: Pricey for an 8Gb DDR3 kit!

Only reason I bought this from a different site was due to an instant $60 off.

Other Thoughts: I am using this on lga 775 so the awesome timings are not doing much for memory bandwidth due to older architecture. Reduction in latency is very nice though. I was using a set of Crucial 8Gb Sports that wouldn't go below cas 9 at 1600Mhz despite any voltage.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great - Excellent Corsair Quality

Pros: Average speed with very low CAS timings.

Nice metallic red color. The heatsink looks like plastic in the preview images, but it's a nice matte red aluminum.

Excellent quality I expected from Corsair.

Cons: The heatsink fins are a little on the tall side, so that might prove to be troublesome for large heatsinks. Also, the black "Corsair" sticker (and yes, it is a sticker) looks kinda cheesy and low-quality. But it looks from from a distance.

Other than those nit-picks, nothing.

Other Thoughts: I previously owned an 8GB (2x4) pair of G.Skill Sniper ram, at 1333 CL9. They still work just fine, but they were about 2 years old and I wanted something a little better. So I got this set, for $85 on sale.

I have been using them for a couple months now, I have no problems at all. I have all 8GB, they run in dual-channel, and they run at rated speeds (1600Mhz) and latencies (7-8-8) perfectly.

As for speed and performance upgrade, I can't really say, because I also upgraded from a Phenom II 965 to an FX-8320. However, switching from the slower cpu and ram, my computer is much "snappier" and responsive. I don't believe RAM can make a big impact on gaming or rendering performance, but I do think it can make a big difference in responsiveness, and I think it did. They also look really cool too.

I don't understand why anybody would buy G.Skill ram at the same speed and price, but much higher latencies at CL9. It's really a no-brainer to get a lower CL kit at the same speeds and price.

If you're not sure which ram to get, I'd certainly say these would be the best option, mainly for their low latencies. If you really want blue ram sticks then maybe higher latencies would be worth it to you, but it's not to me.

If your build is red themed and you're deciding on RAM, I'd full-heartedly recommend this kit over anything else.

4 out of 5 eggsDead Stick After almost 2 years

Pros: Was good RAM for a while.

Cons: One stick died after almost 2 years of use in my rig. Just gonna order some new RAM and keep the working stick rather than try to RMA it. I was due for an upgrade anyway.

5 out of 5 eggs1.5 years later

Pros: Bought this a year and a half ago when it still cost $72 but im very happy with it. Would buy a second set if I needed it but I don't. With older motherboards you would have to overclock it yourself so that it will run at the specified 1600 mhz CAS timings 7-8-8 but newer motherboards should recognize it with no probelms at all.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Just get the RAM you won't regret it. Its the fastest lowest latency RAM out there.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm happy

Pros: Installed no problems, runs with no issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I built a gaming rig, my first one. I've built other personal rigs, and business rigs, but I'm actually surprised I never use more than 7gigs. I have 16 lol
