Flexible, marvell-based Performance Pro Series SSD drives provide consistent, reliable SATA 6 Gb/s performance in both single-drive and RAID configurations, whether you’re running Windows, OS X, or Linux.

  • newegg Fast reads and writes, regardless of file type With an impressive ATTO Max performance of up to 515MB/s Sequential Read and 440 MB/s Sequential Write, Performance Pro Series solid-state drives offer incredibly fast boot and application load times that will make you wonder why anybody still uses old-fashioned mechanical hard drives. This isn't just limited to files that can be compressed and decompressed on the fly — Performance Pro Series SSDs offer similar performance when reading and writing compressed and non-compressible data. Since serious PC users work with so much compressed data — audio, images, and video files are just a few examples — it's a difference you'll notice every day.
  • newegg SSD Benifits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg TRIM Support The Performance Pro Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command. To learn how to enable TRIM support in Windows 7, visit:
  • newegg Built-In Advanced Garbage Collection Performance Pro Series comes with built-in advanced background garbage collection, which automatically uses idle time to optimize data storage, so that disk writes are consistently fast. Thanks to this advanced technology, the Multi-drive RAID Series supports Trim, making it a great choice for RAID arrays. Since this technology is built-in, you'll get strong performance with Mac OS X and Linux as well.
  • newegg 2.5” to 3.5" adapter Included The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Performance Pro Series SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid so far

Pros: Build, performance

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: My Asus motherboard's 6Gb controller recognized it instantly. Rebuilding my system with this was the best upgrade I could have done.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance

Pros: Excellent speeds, blistering RAID 0 performance. Undeniable reliability when comparing to drives with SandForce controllers.

Cons: Black would look better than silver :)

Other Thoughts: Very impressed with the performance of these drives. In RAID 0, we're peaking above 1GB/s in our tests.

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair Performance pro ssd 256 GB

Pros: Drive is extremely fast. It can be sent back (RMA) for just a few stamps as it weighs almost nothing. That was a joke. . . But not really, I am sending it 8-3-12 Back to corsair. I have heard they are awesome. Another pro is the opportunity to strengthen my resolve, hence I am now less apt to flip out when my computer devices malfunction. So they even helped me as a man. Good looking out corsair, they replied and took care of it the next day!!!

Cons: Having to see the upset on my wife's face when I did everything to trouble shoot and the only problem was the ssd. Even ate my pride and took it to best buy as I have 2 years geek squad tech support. She was very upset having based the other parts ( from new egg totaling over $3000) solely around this drive. Sorry the gtx 680 was from a new egg censored competitor.

Other Thoughts: I will still purchase corsair products, they are the most trust worthy name in business, that truly care about their people. CORSAIR FOREVER!!!!!!

... I am still a little sour though, If you could of seen the devastated look and the tears, it would of melted you.

5 out of 5 eggsFavorite part of my new PC

Pros: This thing is crazy fast, especially when you only have a HDD to compare it to. Ran some tests on the ssd with some benchmarking software and the speeds are pretty much right on what corsair says they are, even after the drive gets pretty full.

Cons: None yet. Really hope this drive lasts me a long time!

Other Thoughts: This drive costs more than some others with similar size and speeds. I was OK with that because I wanted something different than another one of the sandforce driven ssds that seem to saturate the market.

Thinking about picking up a second one to dedicate to games as this first one filled up fast.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair doesn't dissapoint.

Pros: This drive is great. It runs exceptionally fast, and delivers everything you've come to except about SSDs. It just has this one, teensy little thing that many manufacturers (I'm looking at you OCZ) don't seem to care about: RELIABILITY. So far I've had zero issues. No BSOD, no write or read errors, no instability, nothing. It's like I'm using a mechanical drive that's on every illicit stimulant you can think of AND is a model citizen in every way. Marvel controllers for the win.

The tests I've performed fall a little under the rated speeds, but I really don't care. Real world performance is what matters, and this drive delivers. Everything just happens so much faster.

Cons: I think it might just be my system, most likely some idiosyncrasy with my motherboard, but it doesn't boot as fast as my laptop does with it's Plextor SSD (also a Marvel controller). It does take about 45 seconds to get completely into windows. But that's still miles ahead of my old mechanical drive. After that it's lightning fast.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great drive with a very competitive price. Grab it before they're all gone and Corsair decides Sandforce controllers really are the way of the future. :P

3 out of 5 eggsLack of firmware updates

Pros: Marvell controller - proven, reliable
Toggle flash - good performance
High speeds regardless of compressibility of data

Cons: No firmware updates from Corsair
Sub-par sequential read performance, esp. low QD
Incompatible with most LSI and Areca RAID cards

Other Thoughts: I have owned this SSD for about 3 months now. When I first got it I was quite pleased with it, but as time has gone by, the Corsair has lagged behind the Plextor M3P models which it closely resembles. Plextor has released firmware updates to improve the sequential read performance and to make their SSDs compatible with hardware RAID cards. Corsair has not released any firmware updates, and they will not even answer my question whether they are currently working on a firmware update.

The Plextor M3P is a better choice. Higher performance, better compatibility, timely firmware updates, and a 5 year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsHeady Foray Into Modern Computing

Pros: Fast, beyond anything I've ever experienced. This is my first build in 8 years and I decided to go pretty much all the way this time and lean seriously forward. All I can say about the Corsair is that it installed flawlessly and before I knew what was happening I had installed Win 7 Pro 64 and was up and running. Never before have I so painlessly installed a new hard drive and OS. It went so fast that I thought I must have forgotten some critical step. But no, everything was fine. Running great now for 2 weeks.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDethrones the m4

Pros: Fast as Sandforce drives on SATA III
No BSOD issues
Destroys my 256GB Crucial m4
Make sure to enable AHCI on your MB+Win 7 and you're golden

Cons: None...

Other Thoughts: This drive can put up with the best of them, including the SandForce drives, except you don't have to deal with the BSOD headaches.

I had a 256GB m4 drive that I got rid of after buying this, Windows startup is about a second faster, but the write speeds on this drive is head and shoulders above the m4. Uses the Marvell controller, so you know it's rock solid compared to SF.

As far as I'm concerned, the m4 just got dethroned when speed and reliability is concerned. This is the drive to get if you're SSD shopping for a primary drive.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable and fast

Pros: 1-Fast, about 3 to 7 times faster than my old 5400 rpm drive (depending on the task)
2-Totally silent
3-Stable, not a single crash or BSOD, owned it since about 3 weeks

Cons: Pricy, although not that expensive compared to Intel SSDs

Other Thoughts: It was expensive, but I have no regret. I'm using it inside a SATA II laptop with Windows Vista, so I'm not even using it at its full potential. I plan to re-use it when I'll build my next computer.

If my SSD fail within the warranty, I'll leave another review. However, if Corsair honor its warranty without problems, it'll be another 5 eggs review, as I understand computer parts can fail, I'm cool with that, as long as the customer service after is good.
