1 out of 5 eggsDefective Memory Cards

Pros: N/A

Cons: Defective Memory Cards

Other Thoughts: I returned them 3 times hoping to find a pair they'll work but each one came back defective. Now I'm stuck with defective memory cards. I can't return them for a refund. My boyfriend has the same model memory cards and they work in my computer, and these cards will not work on his.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Lisa

We will be glad to help with this. It is near impossible for 3 new kits to have a defective module. Exchange them directly though G.Skill and we are certain you can get a perfectly good working set. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure you have 8GB of G.Skill RAM working flawlessly in your computer.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes NOT work on p55 chipset

Pros: The Reviews?

Cons: lets see, the info page says that it is compatible with the lga1156 socket series of CPU,s i have a Biostar TP55 socket lga1156 running an i3-530 cpu, no matter the config, it will NOT run these sticks, this is the third set i have tried, im not even going to rma them AGAIN, im taking the parts to a computer shop and have them test them independent of new egg, and g.skill, please UPDATE board incompatibility, i am tired of rmaing parts, when they should work, but dont, it also barely passes and sometimes does not pass, the boot screen

Other Thoughts: if they worked i would recommend them, wish gskill would make a list of all boards and what modules work with what board, i have also been trying to get a dual channel kit that would work in my rig for 2 months now, i also would like to note that i have been a computer tech for 6 years, i should not be having as many problems as i have

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having such issues. When experiencing possible compatibility issues, always check for the latest BIOS. Updates are released to improve compatibility, so it can help the problem at hand. Unfortunately, only motherboard companies can provide this update. As memory manufacturer, there is nothing we can do to conform to motherboard requirements. RAM is standardized, so we produce RAM based on JEDEC specifications. If the memory does not work with the latest BIOS, and you are certain the motherboard is working, this particular memory kit may not be compatible. The G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT may be a better fit, so contact NewEgg to exchange for this RAM. In the future, please feel free to send us a quick email to confirm compatibility or if you have any questions. The G.Skill support team is readily available to assist you and save you from hassle and headaches.

3 out of 5 eggsBad memory stick

Pros: Fast

Cons: Support not efficient

Other Thoughts: I bought this memory several times and the last time I purchased after two days of using the memory one of them went bad. I reached to the G.SKILL RMA and I still haven't heard from them.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Marcelo

We will be glad to help with this issue. The G.Skill RMA procedure can be completed online. Visit the link below, complete the RMA form, and expect to receive a confirmation email. If you receive that, you should hear back within 48 business hours. The repsonse will include an attachment, so you may want to check your SPAM folder in case it is recognized incorrectly. If you do not receive a response, please email the RMA dept. directly or re-submit the RMA form online. In any case, you should hear back from us within a couple days, so if not, please try another method. Once you reach us, we can replace the memory and answer any questions right away.

1 out of 5 eggsMemory not tested before leaving production!!

Pros: Memory was compatible with the systems i was upgrading

Cons: 2 packages out of 9 were bad. PC would not even boot to the bios. Very embarrassing as this was a new client i just acquired. I set up a RMA but realized its will be over 2 weeks before i get the ram back due to transit times, So I'm just either going to purchase 2 more packages and change the existing rma to a refund or purchase another brand.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if i'd recommend this brand as this was my first time using it and i received defective sticks.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Alfred

We sincerely apologize for the poor first time experience. It is extremely odd for a kit to be defective let alone two kits. If you would like, please send it directly to us for RMA exchange, we are certain two new kits will work flawlessly. This is one of the most popular plug and play memory kits. It is a 5 egg product that rarely has any issues so this mishap should not happen again. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsRam Replaced

Pros: I had a RMA with G.SKILL and I sent my bad stick of ram and good stick of ram to them. I got two sticks of ram made in august of 2015.

Cons: Neither of them worked. My PC wouldn't even post and my power supply was unhappy with the ram and refused to start. I also tested it in another computer that supported this ram (DDR3, 1333mhz, etc) and it had the same problem as mine.

Other Thoughts: I am doing an RMA one more time in the hopes of getting some ram that actually functions. But if I had not already sunk 50 dollars into this it wouldn't be worth my time. Do your research and buy better ram if you can, you get what you pay for.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Jason

We are sorry to hear you are having such issues. Please contact the G.Skill support team with hardware specifications so we can determine the issue. If you have an older DDR3 motherboard, it may not be fully compatible with the newer type of DDR3 RAM. Check for the latest BIOS/UEFI as that can improve compatibility. It is unlikely multiple modules are defective, so hopefully an update will allow the system to run smoothly. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works as advertised, it is good quality ram for the price.

Cons: After almost three months of use one stick of ram died. Going through the RMA process with Gskill since they have limited life time warranties on ram.

Other Thoughts: I like the ram so I will be asking for a replacement with my RMA. If your PC begins freezing in crashing after buying and installing this ram, check the ram before any other component. I went and bought a new power supply based on the symptoms.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price and it was working well in your system. This is a plug and play memory kit that can work well with most DDR3 computers that can support 4GB modules. It is strange a stick randomly failed, but don't worry, we can have it replaced right away. All G.Skill memory kits are backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty. At any time the RAM does not perform flawlessly, you can send them in for RMA exchange. When experiencing strange computer issues, always consider testing one memory module at a time to see if one performs differently. It is the easiest to isolate first since you have two sticks. Then if you have any questions or concerns, let us know and we can help from there. The G.Skill support team will make sure your computer is operating at maximum performance.
