1 out of 5 eggsMemory not tested before leaving production!!

Pros: Memory was compatible with the systems i was upgrading

Cons: 2 packages out of 9 were bad. PC would not even boot to the bios. Very embarrassing as this was a new client i just acquired. I set up a RMA but realized its will be over 2 weeks before i get the ram back due to transit times, So I'm just either going to purchase 2 more packages and change the existing rma to a refund or purchase another brand.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if i'd recommend this brand as this was my first time using it and i received defective sticks.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Alfred

We sincerely apologize for the poor first time experience. It is extremely odd for a kit to be defective let alone two kits. If you would like, please send it directly to us for RMA exchange, we are certain two new kits will work flawlessly. This is one of the most popular plug and play memory kits. It is a 5 egg product that rarely has any issues so this mishap should not happen again. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsRam Replaced

Pros: I had a RMA with G.SKILL and I sent my bad stick of ram and good stick of ram to them. I got two sticks of ram made in august of 2015.

Cons: Neither of them worked. My PC wouldn't even post and my power supply was unhappy with the ram and refused to start. I also tested it in another computer that supported this ram (DDR3, 1333mhz, etc) and it had the same problem as mine.

Other Thoughts: I am doing an RMA one more time in the hopes of getting some ram that actually functions. But if I had not already sunk 50 dollars into this it wouldn't be worth my time. Do your research and buy better ram if you can, you get what you pay for.

Hi Jason

We are sorry to hear you are having such issues. Please contact the G.Skill support team with hardware specifications so we can determine the issue. If you have an older DDR3 motherboard, it may not be fully compatible with the newer type of DDR3 RAM. Check for the latest BIOS/UEFI as that can improve compatibility. It is unlikely multiple modules are defective, so hopefully an update will allow the system to run smoothly. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works as advertised, it is good quality ram for the price.

Cons: After almost three months of use one stick of ram died. Going through the RMA process with Gskill since they have limited life time warranties on ram.

Other Thoughts: I like the ram so I will be asking for a replacement with my RMA. If your PC begins freezing in crashing after buying and installing this ram, check the ram before any other component. I went and bought a new power supply based on the symptoms.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price and it was working well in your system. This is a plug and play memory kit that can work well with most DDR3 computers that can support 4GB modules. It is strange a stick randomly failed, but don't worry, we can have it replaced right away. All G.Skill memory kits are backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty. At any time the RAM does not perform flawlessly, you can send them in for RMA exchange. When experiencing strange computer issues, always consider testing one memory module at a time to see if one performs differently. It is the easiest to isolate first since you have two sticks. Then if you have any questions or concerns, let us know and we can help from there. The G.Skill support team will make sure your computer is operating at maximum performance.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWish it had

Pros: These are an excellent value. They have performance, pizzazz and product proven persona. When I popped these into my grand daughter's system, changing it from a 3 to an 8 gb performer it was as if she had a new machine.

Cons: Unfortunately, these were not purchased for my granddaughters machine, but were chosen for my son\s based on the promise from the G.Skill Rep. stating that these would work in any computer that was both DDR3 1333 and capable of 4gb per slot. As it turned out this set did not work with my son\s at all. Major disappointment on his birthday. I will put in an RMA with Newegg and based on their reputation feel that a return will be no problem.

Other Thoughts: I will speak to G.Skill directly for guidance as I will get the next set from them, I've never had a problem with their memory before...quite the contrary. This was just a fluke I'm sure.

5 out of 5 eggsRippin' it up!

Pros: These things work as they should and look good doing it.

Cons: I don't know - how about "You still have to pay for them, they're not free."

Other Thoughts: I bought a set of these maybe four years ago to bump from (2x2GB) to (2x2GB + 2x4GB). Recently one of the 2GB's started causing BSoD's so I picked up another set of 2x4GB Ripjaws to get a total of 16GB. Skinny money, under sixty bucks for 8GB. When I bought my first computer ('94), RAM was $50 per MEGABYTE. At those prices, this (unfeasible at the time) purchase would have cost me $400,000. Ram prices have dropped nearly 99.99% in just over 20 years. Now get off my lawn!
