5 out of 5 eggsDarn Good DRR3!

Pros: + Does what is says.
+ Included note for Asus motherboard setting is a plus.
+ Easy to reach the stated speed and timings in a Asus Rampage II GENE. Even with 12 GB (6 modules) installed.
+ Operation so fast and smooth you will notice your CPU working harder than before because it's being well fed by the RAM.
+ Runs pretty cool even without a RAM fan.
+ Excellent quality thermal spreaders.
+ Good looking appearance.
+ Excellent packaging to protect the RAM during shipment. And [insert deity here] knows we all need this with shipping methods.

Cons: Need a RAM fan with better mounting hardware. The included fan mount takes an otherwise slick kit and makes it appear ghetto.

A more stable mounting mechanism like the OTC XTC RAM cooler would be much better.

Wish the RAM fans has a 3-ping motherboard header connection.

Other Thoughts: Mushkin could learn a lesson or two about excellent quality thermal spreaders from G.SKill! Even the current Ridgeback sucks in comparison and slide right off after a few insertions. The G.SKILL PI + Turbulence II spreaders stay in place and keep the RAM cool.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram for value price

Pros: This is great memory. The Poster before me must not know much about ram. There are some ddr3 1600 ram kits that run at 1.65volts. 1.65 volts for this speed is crazy good. In fact 1.65 volts is completely accepted if you check the intel site. There are thousands of people running their ram at 1.65volts right now 24/7 with no issues. Including myself with 3 machines. I have 2 of these kits in my gaming machines. They run at their rated speeds.

Cons: Not big on the color, but who cares.

Other Thoughts: Great price for ram at this speed and low timings.

2 out of 5 eggsRequires insane QPI voltage

Pros: I like G.Skill but this kit just isn't worth it at all.

- Fast and runs well at 1600MHz...

Cons: - The big problem is this kit requires between 1.5-1.6 QPI voltage to run at the rated speed of 2000MHz. I highly doubt it's safe to run at that for 24/7 use but it's what G.Skill specifically recommends it should run at and it's true cause it won't boot at anything less than 1.58v QPI at 2000MHz with the rated 6-9-6-24 timings for me.

- This RAM is really only for benchmarking or very extreme overclocking as the voltage is not good for 24/7 use.

- It's true that you can run this at 1600MHz with lower timings like 6-8-6-20 possibly even 6-7-6-20 HOWEVER you could just buy a cheaper kit that's rated at 1600MHz and already has tight timings like that. If I wanted 1600MHz RAM with Cas 6 I could have paid $80 less.

Other Thoughts: Not happy at all with my purchase, I didn't know it would require insane voltage but I knew it would be higher than normal of course, I was thinking 1.4v QPI.

It's with great dismay that I hand out a negative review about a G.Skill kit

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are unsatisfied with your purchase. With any high performance/high frequency memory kit, you should expect to use high voltages to stabilize the frequency. If you want low voltages, you should stick to DDR3-1333 (as recommended by Intel), or go slightly over such as DDR3-1600. This particular kit is not only DDR3-2000, it has very low timings, so most CPUs will require a high QPI Voltage. It is only safe with an aftermarket CPU cooler. If you do not have one, we do not suggest operating DDR3-2000+. This is an extreme overclocking kit, or for those looking for maximum performance, surely not for the average user.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.
