5 out of 5 eggsFast, Strong, Cool!

Pros: I bought this mar 28th 2011, it has heat sinks on the chips making it easier to install, and keep them cool ^^

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These are one of the coldest Ram sticks you can buy!

5 out of 5 eggswonderful! but no longer sold. :[

Pros: . Flexible overclocking.
. Low CAS7 Settings and 1.35v.
. Runs very cool. (1 week of leaving system on running all sorts of programs, games and other miscellaneous applications and still cool to the touch.)

Cons: Browsed forever last February, got a promo ad for these for $60, bought um up on a whim, because I was intrigued by them. Year later and got the itch to purchase another 4GB, and sadly Newegg no longer sells them. Had to purchase else where for $80. But oh wells isn't that how tech goes these days? One minute it's here and amazing and the next it's replaced by better.

Other Thoughts: Currently running mine @ DDR3 2000MHz w/ 8-9-8-24 2T timings / 1.4375 voltage.
That's with a Phenom II x2 555 (3.2GHz Dual Core) on a ASUS Crosshair IV Formula motherboard. Not really builder savvy and I can get mine running awesome, so not sure really what other AMD users are doing wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsgood memory

Pros: Fast and inexpensive.

Cons: I should have bought more.

Other Thoughts: I bought this with a new asrock 990fx extreme3 mb. I have a 965phenom in it and I have the timings at 7-7-7-21 1333mhz. I just set it at those numbers manually and everything works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer Service

Pros: 1) Top Quality
2) Excellent timing for Overclocking
3) Looks good to....

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have seen other reviews on G.SKILL products that say "poor customer service", but in the Details section of their products page to the right is a direct link to their site and a phone number. It is in Cali, (long distance) but those guys know their products and are first rate in Customer Service !!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram!

Pros: Purchased this ram with an ASRock 990FX Extreme 4 motherboard that I was still using a 955 BE on till later ofc. So far the memory is performing very well especially since I upgraded from DDR2 800MHz lols. System bootup etc etc is also alot faster an widows etc pop up faster now as well. Not to mention gaming it much more enjoyable with my new setup.

Cons: I was unable to post with the stock timings, instead as someone else mentioned I had to change them to 8-8-8-24-2T to post at 1600MHz instead of it defaulting me to 1333MHz at 7-8-7-24-2T lols.

Other Thoughts: Other then that my system is running extremely fast now, unlike before I'm now able to OC my 955BE to 4.0GHz stable with this ram (Awesome!).

5 out of 5 eggsUse with Intel Extreme Overclocking Utility

Pros: G.SKILL - duh !
Excellent quality, is listed on so many different brand & model mobo`s QVL it will surprise you.
CAS Latency of 7 = sweetness

Cons: Limited color coordination?
Not all mobo`s/BIOS will work with Intel Extreme Overclocking Utility, but if it does, you have a very powerful tool for freeware :-)

Other Thoughts: I used this in conjunction with Intel Extreme Overclocking Utility, did a manual overclock of ram to 1866 and it did not flinch, so I tried 2133, restarted waiting for the BSOD, but it ran like a champion. No listed XMP profile for this ram , but it is so easy and flexible for overclocking that it just does not matter.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad!

Pros: Fast! Good price for what you get

Cons: Doesn't run at the stock timings at 1.35v. I had to bump it up to 1.455 to get it to run at PC-1600 with stock timings when using four sticks, minus one egg for that.

Other Thoughts: You should buy this ram, regardless of what I put in the cons section. Sure, you could get 16gb for a little less money, but 16gb is overkill for gamers and will be at least until sometime after DDR4 comes out, so speed is much more important right now.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your computer. The ECO series is designed for the P55 platform, so if you are using another platform, it may require slightly more DRAM Voltage to sync with the memory controller. This is just fine for the memory, and in some cases, you can even utilize the extra voltage by improving timings or frequency. This is one of our most popular kits as it is very flexible and great for overclocking. For any questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

Pros: Only 1.35v with c7 I got it to 7-8-7-24 first try! Didn't work right when I had voltage higher then 1.45. I was trying to push it further lol. Does what it suppose to do so I'm happy! Oh n love the design!

Cons: None
