5 out of 5 eggsAs advertised

Pros: - Low voltage
- Runs at spec

Cons: - Price (obviously)
- Tall heatspreaders may be an issue for some

Other Thoughts: I bought these specifically for the low voltage and the speed rating. I missed out on buying the matched 8GB set so I settled for 2 sets of 4GB before these too were phased out.

Paired with my Q9650 @ 4.05GHz (450x9) and EP45-UD3P Rev 1.6 they ran at the rated specs of 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8v! The fully populated DIMM slots do seem to stifle maximum FSB and requires significant voltage increases all around for the last little bit so I am running the sticks slightly below @ 1080MHz on the 2.4B strap at the current settings.

5 out of 5 eggsTerrible customer service

Pros: - worked great @ 1066

Cons: -customer service
- could not get it to run higher than 1066.

Other Thoughts: No automated system. Which was great until i spoke with the person answering the phones. This guy seemed very unhappy with his job. also didn't seem like he knew anything about computers outside of a script provided for him. He was trying to be helpful with figuring out how to set my ram up properly. Now i have tried a lot of things before i gave up a decided to call. The one thing that set me off was he wanted to know what my settings were so he could tell me how he thought i should do it. He kept going on about settings for an intel based board. I repeatedly told him i was running an AMD CPU and i couldn't up the voltage for my memory controller. He thought that was weird. He asked me if i could take a screenshot of my BIOS. WHAT?! How do you want me to take a screenshot of my BIOS? Oh just hit print screen you say? How about no. That doesn't work. I let him know how helpful he was and i would be sending the RAM back do to him.

Pros: Great memory, but a bit pricy for 4 gigs

Cons: eggsaver shipping. I thank the maker i didnt need to ship a heart or a kidney to someone. Took over a week. Thanks US Postal Service.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you like the memory and it is working well in your computer. Unfortunately the kit can be a little pricey since DDR2 prices are high at this time. In addition, this is probably the last of high performance DDR2 kits on the market, so you are getting the best available. As a result, the performance results should be very good. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsfast ram

Pros: worked great for a while then it started crashing. One of the sticks had changed I had to increased the voltage to 2.1 to get it stable .Hope it last!

Cons: A little high for 4 gigs of ram.
Had to overvolt.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your system. With the proper DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage input in BIOS, you should have no issues. If problem persists, please feel free to send them in for RMA and a replacement kit should operate to specification. This is the G.Skill guarantee; whether your modules are completely dead or not operating to specification, we will replace them with new ones, no questions asked. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggscream of the crop

Pros: fast

stable

cool running.

what more could you want? these chips must be binned (hand picked) to get this kind of speed on that amount of voltage. ether way im not complaining. :)

Cons: price.... :(

Other Thoughts: been building PCs for a long time now and i can easily say this is the best DDR2 i have run.

plugged in, set to factory specs in the Bios "1100mhz (5-5-5-15) @ 1.8v". ran Intel burn max stress 10 passes with no errors and they barely got warm!

i may go for higher mhz later but for right now paired with my 780i and Q9550 @ 3.825Ghz not much reason to.

if your trying to get the most out of your 780i, this IS your RAM... linked and synced you would be good all the way up to AT LEAST 4.675ghz before even having to OC the RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM, but needs 2.32 volts to do 1200 mhz

Pros: Works great at advertised speed and voltage. Heatspreader looks cool. Overclocks up to ~1170 mhz without a hitch.

Cons: My set required 2.32 volts to be stable at 1200 mhz.

Other Thoughts: I was really excited about this RAM because of all the reviews on here that said it could do 1200 mhz with under 2.0 volts. I got it up to ~1170 mhz without going over 1.9 volts, but getting that last 30 mhz out of it took more voltage than i would have liked. I was testing stability with 1 pass of memtest86+ v4.20. It should also be noted that my motherboard (ASUS Maximus Formula) overvolts RAM pretty heavily, so while the voltage is set to 2.32 in the BIOS for 1200 mhz, the RAM is actually getting about 2.45 volts. I guess I'll keep these settings and see how long the RAM lasts... this will be the real test : )

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your computer. This is now the top DDR2 kit on the market. As you know, great results can be achieved. For DDR2-1200, make sure to raise NB Voltage. DRAM may be needing more voltage if NB Voltage is not sufficient. If you would like, please feel free to join the Official G.Skill Forum. There are many overclockers, including our techs, that can help you tweak this for maximum performance.

5 out of 5 eggsUPDATE & FIX to "Satisfied but needs moar"

Pros: This is an update to a flawed review I recently put up.

New spec's I was able to achieve:

MCH Volt / Clock : .96V / 400MHz
Memory X'er : 3.00D
That means these things can, and do, run at 1200MHz!

Voltage : 1.92
CL : 5
RAS# to CAS# : 5 & 5
tRP: 5
tRAS: 15

tRFC: 76
Write to Precharde Delayed: 23
tWTR: 9

Thanks to these new sticks, I was able at long last to OC my CPU (with stock cooling) to 3.24GHz (1.343VCore). FSB=1460; Bus=360; CPU Max X'er=9.

Cons: Apologies to G.Skill. How could I have made such a glaring error? (See below.)

Other Thoughts: While the spec's I shared in my last review are true, there is one glaring oversight that caused the sticks to underperform, namely, my MOBO's BIOS! I had to get the latest FE version for my 1.6 rev. which replaced the ancient FB version I had. After that point, as you can see, the sticks perform beautifully!

I'm not sure how much higher these babies can go, but right now I'm more concerned about improving my CPU cooling before I try to aim higher. If I can, I'll certainly be buying another pair. Hope they'll still be around when I get the chance!

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff!

Pros: Stable up to 1180 at 1.9V 5-5-5-15 (with mem. fan)
Goes over 1200 at around 1.94V
Perfect fit for OCZ memory cooler.
got it stable at 12.5G bandwidth with 292 FSB ( mem86+ )
Got 4x2gb, no swapfiles anymore.... rig flys
Very pleased so far.... Thanks G.Skill

Cons: Could use paint for the side decor. instead of stickers
I expect stickers to come off after some time and start collecting dust. But its not critical.

4 out of 5 eggsSatisfied but needs moar

Pros: Very solid, stable, and efficient DDR2 RAM. What you see is what you get. I just got my first pair today, and unfortunately didn't go through all of the reviews by the EP45-UD3P owners (like myself) to see that I need another pair to reach, and go beyond, the advertised speeds.

However, I've made due until I get my next pair by replacing my older G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-4BPI (PC2-6400). Essentially I have the same MHZ (2 * 477.8) but have superior timings that make my system more responsive (until I get that second pair).

Cons: Be prepared to go all the way. No holding back. Save up some cash so you can get to those DDR3 speeds you've been dying for.

I'm hoping I won't have to go through any RMA process if I happen to buy a second pair and have to mix and match with an unhappy marriage. *Groans*

Other Thoughts: Here are the absolute best settings I currently have on my MOBO (with an OC Q6700 @ 3.18GHZ, same as previous DDR2)

Voltage : 1.82
CL : 4
RAS# to CAS# : 4 & 4
tRP: 4
tRAS: 11

All Precharge to Activate: 4
tRFC: 40
Write to Precharde Delayed: 13
tWTR: 9
tRRD: 3
tRD_WR : 7
tRTP : 4
All Precharge to Refresh delay : 4
tREF : 2080T

If I succeed like other EP45-UD3P owners in getting a solid OC, I'll post a second review with all the juicy details.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your computer. You should be able to overclock this kit without a problem. If you add a second pair, it actually becomes more difficult to overclock since it is twice the amount of stress on the memory controller. Because of this, make sure to raise the MCH Core Voltage (~1.40V). This will be required to reach DDR2-1100+ with full slots. If you have any questions or issues, please feel free to ask on the forums or contact us directly. This is a very popular combination, so a lot of testing and results have already been done. You can get a lot of information from out forum alone, we even have a guide.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: FAST, Stable, Low voltage, Low timings, decent over-clocking headroom but could be a bit better.
easy setup, stays cool even under load. and the list goes on and on.

Cons: Pricey.
but you get what you pay for and this is QUALITY RAM!
Heat sink is TALL.
could not fit into slot #1 so had to go for slots #2 and #4,
make sure you have room or additional ram slots.

Other Thoughts: So far so good. the ram also arrived a full day ahead of schedule.
has given me the best benchmark scores to date on my rig.
and gaming is much smoother because of this awesome ram.
