TRIM Support The Vertex 3 Max IOPS SSDs offer native TRIM support featured in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The Vertex 3 Max IOPS Series features a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and select desktops. A 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket is included with the SSD for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting.

The right size at the right price. I don't keep a ton of stuff on my laptop. If I watch a movie it is streamed, if I listen to music it is on my phone. I need enough room for Ubuntu and that is it. This drive has doubled my battery life, changed the heat output from "Ouch" to "Hmmm" and has changed my boot and the time to install or copy files from noticeable to instant. Cons: Size, come on guys... bigger is not always better. Don't be lazy on hanging onto downloads or other junk, keep things trimmed and everything will be fine. Reliability, mine has been working no problem but I am afraid of the magic dust that keeps the SSD running so I bought the extended warranty. I have Photoshop CS6 installed on this drive and it boots in around 5 seconds. SSDLife (monitoring program) rates this drive to last until January 19th, 2022. This is very fast and highly recommended. Cons: None so far. Other Thoughts: I bought this on sale at $90, great bang for your buck. This was my first SSD purchase and I was highly pleased. Had just installed Win7 and made updates, no other software loaded yet. Cons: MB no longer recognized drive. The internal LED lit up, but it would not show up in BIOS. VERY disappointed in product and hope that RMA replacement doesn't have issues or it will go back too. Have used other manufacturer's SSDs without this happening before. No issues installing my bios recognized it right away. Cons: Only 110gb but not really a con. Other Thoughts: Used with my gaming rig. I play Dungeons and Dragons Online and Starcraft 2 had not had a hickup yet. I am planning on over clocking but I wanted to test with all part out of the package everything is amazing so far. DDO runs between 250-270 FPS Seen it drop maybe to 90 FPS but went right back up. SC2 didn't flinch at all. Pros: I will NEVER go back to a mechanical HDD for my Windows install or for games like Skyrim and BF3. Boot time is almost instant and games load insanely fast. I love this drive so far!
