1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work when you have an SLI installed, cannot RMA

Pros: Not able to see any

Cons: --Doesn't work with SLI (doesn't boot up at all) - since the bus switches to 2x8 instead of having a 1x16
--For some reason Newegg cannot RMA it. Wonderful. What am I going to do now?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Consumer,

Please contact our Support directly. Certain configurations will prevent the Revodrive from working properly due to chipset limitations. This is possibly the situation here - if you have 3+ pcie slots but two graphics cards occupying at x8 x8, that will only leave the 3rd pcie slot operating at x1. Of course this depends on the chipset in question which we will investigate when you contact us with more details.

We look forward to helping!

Sincerely,
OCZ Support

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to mine from a few months ago

Pros: Still running strong. Ran a PassMark test and got 455.5 for the sequential read test, but only 167.9 for the sequential write test.

Cons: You will have to download drivers and put them on a flash drive if you intend to install Windows onto the drive. During setup, you'll have to load those drivers to get it recognized. This took me some time to figure out when I first got the drive.

Other Thoughts: 66 GB free of 214. Running with:
3570K at 4.5 GHz
Radeon HD 6770
2x4GB 2000 MHz RAM (could run at 2400, but there's a bit of instability with this motherboard. Games crash after an hour with 2200)

You would probably be better off getting a 240 or 256 GB SATA III. Preferably a Samsung 830, Crucial M4, or Kingston HyperX.

2 out of 5 eggsSuper fast but not reliable

Pros: This drive was unbelievably fast while it worked. It scored the highest rating in windows and everything was very snappy.

Cons: I bought my first one 3 months ago and it died in a few days, after paying to have a replacement shipped from newegg that one died after 2 months. Now I have to pay to ship it again to the manufacturer to get my third one. I'm not too confident in this drives quality. Shipping them back for new ones really adds a lot to the price of ownership.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame because the performance of this thing is unbelievable. I'm using my SATA drive to get by now and it feels like half the machine that it was.

Manufacturer Response:

We sincerely aplogize for the difficulties. Please visit the link below and create a support ticket to arrange for an RMA. Please also visit our support forums at the link below and we will be happy to recommend proper drive and system setup procedures to insure that your new drive operates reliably. 4 out of 5 eggsFirst one died in a day but second works well so far.

Pros: Highest rating in windows for speed.
Windows 7 is noticeably faster.

Cons: After much troubleshooting learned that on my gigabyte board that it would only work in the PCIe X16 slot, so there goes using an SLI in the future. It would see the raid card but not the actual storage in the other slots.

5 out of 5 eggsOlder tech that works beautifully

Pros: Works as advertised. My first SSD and I can't be more pleased with it.

Cons: As stated above, it's older tech. The two SSD's are put in RAID. Individually, they'd only run at about 250 MB/s. Together, they make a read speed of about 500 MB/s. They are using the SandForce 1200 controllers, unlike most newer drives which use SandForce 2200 controllers.

Other Thoughts: Bought this from another site on Black Friday for $250.

2 out of 5 eggsDIED IN 2 WEEKS

Pros: Very fast when it works.
7.9 on Windows rating

Cons: Reliability issues
Only lived 2 weeks
OCZ takes kind of long time to approve a RMA to them, even after using their forums.

Other Thoughts: Owned the drive for 2 week then ran into a problem the drive showed raid set fails. One of the ssds would crash then computer freezes. So I restarted the computer and it says raid set failed and fault1 led goes on. I would not recommend this ssd to anyone. As for my RMA from OCZ is still not yet approved been 3 days now. But really OCZ make sure the ssds live longer for this price it better. Might want work on speeding up the RMA process, Especially when it obviously need to be RMA and is Defective. Yes I Did a reformat each drive individually then re-raid 0 them and it failed raid 0 halfway through windows install. Only 2 egg because OCZ takes a long time to get my RMA approved. FYI doing the rebate means that u can't RMA to newegg.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the difficulties, and any delays. Our support staff will get your RMA approved shortly, and will process it as quickly as possible. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Hard drive

Pros: You do not have to do much in setup, actual i prepared for the worst before i purchased it, but it was same as any raid drive, in fact it was easier than other raid setups

This drive will give you the most bang for your buck, as far as $/GB this is actually one of the best.
Speeds are as advertised, faster than anything I have ever seen before. The windows 7.9 rating says it all. Did some tests and it is incredible how fast things startup, load and transfer (internally).
Easy install and little-no problems as far as setup. (read other thoughts)
For the hardcore fans out there, it only has 214GB after formatting, but it you install larger programs and keep large data files on other drives you will see no drop in speed. (move the page file – 8GB)

You do not have to raid - you can leave it as two drives at 107GB each

Adds an extra hard drive without adding an extra sata cable, I now have 6 drives in my system

Cons: 1. Cost
2. requires a pci x16 slot
3. Cost

Other Thoughts: Setup was easy; raid setup will hold your hand the whole time, just Google raid before you buy. As far as advanced setup to make the drive work, I would only say if you had a raid system in place, you would manage these with that program, you cannot have conflicting raid controllers (at least on my motherboards)
****You will need a flash drive with the raid drivers on it if you plan to use the built-in raid. You can download these from their website, but do it FIRST*****
It is worth the cost, I regretted the purchase, until I started using it.
