TRIM Support The OCZ Vertex 2 Series SSD’s offer native TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.

Silent and improved boot speeds, hardrive read and write speeds dramatically Cons: It is well documented OCZ's firmware is more than iffy. This drive somehow has some sort of a power cutoff when trying to access corrupt sectors. This prevents any repair of sectors and made my system unusable. I have since purchased a 1TB seagate hd and am reinstalling my win7 operating system as I type this. the ssd was installed to only hold the operating system, so when it tanked, i was dead in the water. Cons: Not really a "con", but it's only 60GB. At the time this was sufficient for my needs, but times and situations have changed and I find myself needing a larger drive. Other Thoughts: I originally purchased one of these drives back in May '11. The first one died within two weeks and I was able to get a replacement through Newegg. The second (and current) drive has worked like a champ. I'll be upgrading soon to a larger, faster drive, but will keep this around as a reliable backup. Did you find this review helpful? I installed Windows 7 OS on the SSD about 2 weeks ago. I returned one day and woke my computer from sleep to encounter blue screen error seconds later. The SSD is no longer recognized in BIOS and I had to re install my OS on a separate HD. I actually can't even have the SSD hooked up or the system wont boot. A really faulty product.
