5 out of 5 eggsJust What I Needed!

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model 996763

Pros: Timing numbers and specs are spot-on. Provides exactly as is described. Good shipping, no problems.

Cons: Expensive.

Other Thoughts: Updated a rig I built in 2009 with a new processor, cooling fan, GPU and RAM. Even though the MOBO is from 2008, this machine still has some power. Win 7 very snappy and stable. Very pleased with purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing Mushkin.
We appreciate your feedback and support.

Pros: Upgraded from 4gb to 8gb and noticed a huge difference. I'm running an older board that only supports 8gb otherwise I'd buy another set!

3 out of 5 eggsGot wrong RAM, but still nice

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model 996763

Pros: Noticed a huge increase in performance after installing this RAM. I have an old setup with a Gigabyte MA-770-DS3 + 2.5 Athlon X2. Yet just adding 2GB of this RAM split my load times in half for Windows 8 and most programs.

Cons: I ordered these DDR2 800 PC2-6400 (2x4GB) sticks, but they ended up being different. The sticker on each RAM was mislabeled. Once I checked in my BIOS and checked statistics/part number in CPU-Z, I found it was actually DDR2 667 PC2-5300 (2x2GB). Sucks really bad, but I know how business works. Mistakes are made.

Other Thoughts: I will forgive Mushkin if they send me the correct RAM the second time around. =)

...If not, I'll never buy it again. Don't do me like ASUS did, Mushkin. =)
