1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: -low cost decent capacity

Cons: -cheaply made
-blue screens
-unreliable
-SLOW

Other Thoughts: horrid write speeds and a deathly ill drive within a month speaks leagues of Adata's name, do not buy, better off holding out for a nicer more reliable drive

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: This SSD works for the 1st 2.5 months

Cons: Around the 3rd month, while unzip a 1.2GB file, my laptop freeze, recycle power found the BIOS no longer recognize I have such drive. It is not data corruption, worse, the system does not even no there exist such drive at lower hardware level. Let alone try to recover lost data

Other Thoughts: got to pray while using the product

5 out of 5 eggsIt's really pretty good

Pros: I’ve owned 3 ADATA drives so far, and maybe 12 other brands, and haven't found a genuinely bad SSD yet. Since retiring from IT after thirty years I can only offer some thoughts. I have installed many for friends and clients. Nobody gets three bad drives in a row. But what I have found to be problematic is (1) don’t ever use the clone or migration method. Always do a clean install. (2) SSD seem very sensitive to the quality of the SATA cable. Buy one of the good ones. (3) When a standard drive is installed on the bus it will usually spin down at some point. Especially bargain drives. When it doesn’t spin up fast enough, the system has problems easy to blame on the SSD. (4) Don’t flash the BIOS unless you really need to. It makes it look to Windows like a new drive. See point one.

Google some setup advice on SSD's such as paging, trim, and power and the like. There’s a lot out there. SSD’s are still pretty new. I’m not saying there aren’t any defective ones off the line, there are. But if you buy a new tire for your car three times, maybe it’s not the tire.

Cons: None in general. Requires a bit more expertise than some might think at first.

4 out of 5 eggsnice drive for the $

Pros: excellent price. hundreds of % faster than HDD's.

Cons: not the fastest SSD - Way faster than the HDD it replaced as a system drive.

Other Thoughts: Would not work correctly on a GA-Z77-D3H until I disabled xHCI in the EUFI BIOS and enabled EHCI. Worked excellently as soon as the xHCI was disabled - weird.

5 out of 5 eggsSlick little Brick

Pros: Blazing fast. Windows 7 reports a 7.9 experience rating. Never going back to a traditional HDD for my OS ever again. Comes with a 3.5 inch mounting bracket for quick and easy installation onto my desktop workstation. I love that I didn't have to order it separately unlike most other SSD out there.

Cons: None at all. Knocking on wood.

Other Thoughts: I will probably buy another one unless I buy a case with 2.5" bays or other SSD makers stop being lazy/greedy and include the 3.5 adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsFast little bugger

Pros: Newegg! Newgg shipping! Easy Install. Faster. than I was expecting.

Cons: I had a devil of a time finding and downloading the free Acronis migration software.

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive because it was on sale at less than 50 cents/Gbyte. Installed in a laptop computer. Boot time went from about a minute to 12 seconds. When I purchased it, reviews showed it as a middle of the road SSD. The last one I purchased was a top of the line SSD about a year ago. I am amazed at how much faster this drive is than that older one.
I was unable to locate and download the free migration software from Acronis, I finally used EaseUS TODO backup software to migrate from the HDD.

1 out of 5 eggsRandomly Crashes

Pros: Fast was able to achieve Windows Experience of 7.6 on drive. Comes with adapter to fit in full size HD bay.

Cons: Randomly crashes and completely wipes all data from drive.

Other Thoughts: Have Win7 Home Premium 64 bit running on an Alienware Aurora first gen Core i7 with 6 gigs of ram. If you are converting from standard hard drive to this SSD ADATA gives you True Image 2013 to clone. I used this software and initially had no issues. Clone was perfect and had no errors in Device Manager. However, after 7 hours of up time I rebooted after installing Need for Speed and some Windows security updates. When it came back up it could not find the boot partition. I booted to my SATA drive and found all data on SSD was gone. Thinking it was either the updates or the NFS software I re-imaged the SSD. It ran for a day then crashed again. Same behavior with no updates or software installs. Troubleshooting further I found the code for the SATA might differ from the SSD. This time I spent a day and loaded my system from scratch. This lasted one week through windows updates, NFS install a couple of cold and warm starts. Then on a standard restart, no software updates or install, it crashed again. I'm sending this drive back for a refund. And of course NewEgg is making me pay the $10 for shipping this a pile of junk back to them. I give 1 egg because I cannot give negative eggs. Buyer beware. drive is a pile of junk, a waste of time and additional money. Message to NewEgg, if you are going to purchase this junk from your distributor you should at least not charge me to ship faulty merchandise back to you. Bad for business as I will be reluctant to buy from you in the future.
