5 out of 5 eggsMaybe the single best computer purchase I have made in over 2 years

Pros: I use have used this in my netbook for over 2 years now. Running Linux OS like Ubuntu or Mint is lighting fast and it really increases the battery of my HP Mini netbook (about 2 hours of use and when the lid is shut it feels like it used zero power at all compared to the stock HD). When I close the lid and pack it away the power bar will be at the same spot when Iopen it back up again even though I didn't shut down the computer.

I use my netbook every day.

Cons: Lets face it size matters but how much? 40GB is a good size for a light Linux OS, but it doesnt leave much wiggle room for windows if you like using new Microsoft OS or if you absolutely intend to use your netbook as mass storage. For my purposes this disavantage isnt really a disavantage because it's more than enough room for what I need and want.

Other Thoughts: This was a great upgrade for enjoying my netbook! Snapy performance and increased battery life for operation... It made things so much easier and I use it all the time... Highly recommend Intel SSDs for Laptops and netbooks. It will make a noticable difference.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat to install your OS on

Pros: Great way to speed up a slow system.

Cons: At 40G only you OS and perhaps a small program or two will fit.

Other Thoughts: I have this on my media computer. Win 7 64-bit on the X 25 and all the movies on a 1TB HD.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid drive

Pros: Been using this drive for 1 year now and haven't had any problems. When I say 1 year, I mean it's been on for one year straight. No downtime. Great drive!

Cons: No cons. It works. Even came with a mounting bracket.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent Operation

Pros: I have been runningUbuntu Linux from this SSD for 1.5 years.

3 second boot time and 3 second shut down time. It produces zero sound of course. No issues.

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsGood for laptops

Pros: It's a solid state drive. It takes almost no power (0.01w), is silent, is faster than a hard drive, and is very reliable. It's built well and was easy to install. Has TRIM support.

It's a good quality drive and is faster than fast hard drives (ie raptor, etc.)

The power consumption is much lower than other SSDs

Cons: It's a very basic drive, especially for the price. You can get a faster 64GB corsair or ocz for about the same price.

I only gave it four eggs, because of the relative price to other SSDs.

Other Thoughts: The best use for this particular SSD would be in a laptop since it is designed for power efficiency and durability. If you are buying an SSD for performance, you may want to look at some others. (Mind you this is still very fast compared to high end HDDs)

I use this as my boot drive in a desktop.

3 out of 5 eggsA Little Disappointing

Pros: - Noticeable speed increase for my startup programs.
- Reduced lag during some operations

Cons: Not enough of a speed increase to justify the price. (Even though I only paid $70)

Other Thoughts: I'm making my comparisons to 2x 74GB Raptors in RAID0, Vista x64, from a fresh install and an image of my previous setup. Also did most of the tweaks that's out there.

I'll keep my RAID setup and wait for more price drops.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ssd

Pros: This hd is very fast on the read portion. I own a ocz vertex ssd also and the read is rated higher on that but this one scores 7.5 in win7 rating while the ocz one scores a 6.9.

Cons: price per gig

Other Thoughts: if your thinking about building a whole new system go with the sata 3 ssd's as they are extremely fast. New system with one scores 7.9

5 out of 5 eggsSmokin

Pros: FAST FAST FAST... A noticeable speed increase over my previos SATA drive. WOW! OS install... crazy, boot time... phenomenal, program launches... immediate!

Cons: The price is pretty steep compared to a SATA drive and I don't recommend using this with a full blown Windows 7 install. Chews up most of the drive (around 25GB)

Other Thoughts: System Specs:

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 AMD 890FX
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

Video... Sound... blah blah blah

5 out of 5 eggsFAST for Price!

Pros: Drive is fast for price. Intel quality. Low power consumption. Durable.

Cons: Small size, should be used for desktop bootdrive only.

Other Thoughts: I dont recommend this for a laptop. Especially 64 bit. After OS, a few programs, little music, pictures, and 2 videos i was at 30 gig used. Sold it and got an 80 X25M. But this is still an excellent OS boot drive for a desktop for the money.
