Getting harder to find a 5.25" bay card reader these days so I was hoping this would be a great deal. Cons: Incompatible with Windows 8 (RTM). The driver installer crashes and there are no default drivers. It is very difficult to insert a SD card into the slot. So I then purchased this Koutech IO-FPM530 reader since it is USB 3. I connected it to my PC's USB 3 port and tested it with my Class 10 SD card. The read/write speed was slightly higher by 2-4MB/sec, but I noticed the green LED light was not working. I then tried this with a microSDHC memory card, and it would not read it at all. I contacted NewEgg about RMA Refund, and am waiting to hear back. I'm going to keep my first purchase of the AFT PRO-55U memory card reader since it is made better, even though it is USB 2 and slightly slower...but I think it is better quality and will last longer. 2 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Looks very nice in my Corsair 650D case. Screw holes allow a solid mounting in tool-less bays. Cons: A metal case around the unit wold make it a bit easier to mount. I have no idea what the included software does. [Don't need it.] Other Thoughts: I would like to see some backlighting on the face of this unit to make it easier to find it in the dark. 9 out of 11 people found this review helpful. Did you?
