1 out of 5 eggsDead in 6 months

Pros: Faster than a 5400 rpm hard disk.

Cons: Dead in 6 months - could not recover any data from this drive. Could not read from drive. Have other disks backed up.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks.

Pros: Works fast, instantly improved my laptop. Came with a data transfer kit and everything. Do your research crucial is one the best brands for an SSD, it might be slower in speeds but it's more reliable.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsNot what I hoped for

Pros: works. windows loads faster than the old 5400rpm drive. increased battery life to over 4hrs on my old Sony Vaio with an Athlon II 2.1Ghz and new Samsung 1.35v ram.

Cons: after windows loads it seems that most applications and services hang for a few seconds, which makes the overall experience feel slower than the old HDD. i was hoping for a snappy interface like the SSD in my desktop gave me, but that's on a sata3 port.

Other Thoughts: the included cloning software worked great. i had ordered recovery discs from Sony and found out they do not allow a fresh install of windows, which would have been ideal. so maybe the sluggishness is coming from the dirty old install of windows but i can't be sure.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade for older high performance systems

Pros: Cost effective upgrade to older but still viable high performance systems with SATA II interfaces. I picked up a pair of Lenovo ThinkPad T510's for about 20% of original retail. $100 of SSD later they are still solid, high performance Windows 7 workstations, at disposable prices.

Cons: With Windows 7 - none. I wouldn't bother to upgrade an XP machine at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Disk performance has been the limiting factor for overall performance for quite some time. The T510's scored a 6.8 on processor and 7.2 on disk after installing these drives - that's a very decent score and we should get another couple of useful years out of these systems.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Slow. Not Happy.

Pros: None that I encountered.

Cons: This drive is slow. I configured everything as told to by crucial support and still my read write speeds were nowhere near what they should have been. As this drive is a no-return model I would be very weary of purchasing it.

Used it with Windows 7 and Mac 10.8. Both were slow, and would lag for 5-10 seconds at a time.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy.

5 out of 5 eggsFast & great battery life

Pros: fast and added 1.5hrs battery life on my laptop

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: worth every penny. I was in the market for a new laptop but decided to go this route. Made my machine like new again for next to nothing in price.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks! * INSTALL DRIVERS*

Pros: Works great, simple SATA II for older-ish laptops. Put it in a a53sv laptop. Was running very slow until I installed drivers that were not indicated missing. Basically intel drivers and chipset drivers. So make sure 100% you get the manufacturer drivers. The benchmarks show great results and I'm happy with the cheap purchase.

Cons: None so far, will update if dies.

Other Thoughts: Get it, cheaper, fast, even comes with a SATA/power to USB . Basically giving you access to an external drive kit.
