Crucial 240-pin DIMMs are used in DDR3 memory for desktop computers. DDR3 is the latest generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data more quickly.

A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: I bought 2 of these kits for a total of 12 gig for my Dell 435T computer.
Pulled the old out, installed the new and had my computer up and running in 15 minutes

Cons: none whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: When doing batch processing in Adobe CS5, 6 gig just wasn't cutting it.
With the 12 gig, it's a snap.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial does it again.

Pros: Works great with my i7. Wouldn't pay more for faster stuff - although if you can find something with built on heat spreaders, that'd be good.

Cons: The RAM coolers I purchased don't fit it. (Not too concerned).

5 out of 5 eggskeep it cool!

Pros: seems to have no issues, my mother is pleased with her computer and components thus far.

Cons: don't let this ram get warm it will start to throw errors.
i added some memory cooling to it and seems to just fine and not error reporting on mem test 86.

Other Thoughts: keeping this ram cool seems to be the issue, it will immediately start to throw errors when it starts to get warm.
the second i add a cooling to it. the error's go away.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Dell Studio XPS 435T

Pros: Great price, works perfectly. I just flashed my BIOS to the latest rev. and now the POST is much faster. POST used to be painfully slow (seemed hung) but I doubt it was ever because of this memory.

Cons: no real downside; it's not made for overclocking, and my Dell won't do that anyway, so I don't know if it would support it. But at stock speeds, works great!

Other Thoughts: I wish Crucial sent a little logo sticker for my Rig. I'm a sucker for those things.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Cheap and easy to overclock. Reliable.

Cons: When overclocked, runs slightly hotter (+4 deg. C) than some of the other RAM I have.

Other Thoughts: This RAM has no cooling fins which may be the culprit of the hotter temps. Mind you, this is in an overclocking situation. Even overclocked and running warm, I have had no problems with it. Can't really ding it for me pushing it. If I wanted cooling fins I shoulda bought more expensive RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsIT JUST WORKS

Pros: Works withot problems in my new Core i7 build.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a different brand that I originally purchased but that had a bad stick out of the three. This kit had no problems at all.

5 out of 5 eggswhat works, works.

Pros: What can I say? It's Crucial.

Cons: None. Nada. Nyet.

Other Thoughts: Ordered 1333 Ram. Newegg sent me these 1066 modules. THought, "What the hey, I'll put them in and try them." Since this is for my son's build, he didn't notice any difference....Doubt if I would either

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Used with ASUS Z8NA-D6 to load VMware ESX. Works great, no issues.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Considered using 3x4GB with 1 CPU but decided for the little extra money to add a second CPU and 6x2GB

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good ram kit. It works great.
