1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: NONE.

Cons: DOA. tried 2 different USB to sata connectors, and plugging it into a sata on MB. nothing. my existing drives work fine in the tested adapters/motherboards.

Other Thoughts: ARG! Samsung?! really? this has been reviewed as one of the best drdives on the market and it arrived DOA. so irritating. (understatement)

5 out of 5 eggsGame Drive level awesomw

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: I have mine dedicated to video games only, and it loads things in overkill matter when rapid mode on. league of legends 0-100% in about 25 seconds i always have to wait 2-3 minutes for everyone else to load, skyrim, even heavily modded load screens are 3 seconds on a bad day...

Cons: if you have more than 1 pro drive only one can have rapid mode enabled... lame

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product & Service

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: It perfectly fits Macbook Pro 15" early 201, it runs 10 times faster than the conventional HDD.
Lighter than the old HDD and of course less power consumption.

Cons: A little bit pricy.

Other Thoughts: I'm a Macbook Pro 15" early 2011 user tried to upgrade my Mac. I'm using the Mac mainly for photo/video post editing, and as you know these requires faster process speed.

I was uncertain about getting a 128GB or 256GB. I decided 128GB because the only thing I need is to make the system runs faster. I will store all the media files and even some apps not requiring high speed performance to the external drive or the old HDD (as I replace the optical drive with a HDD caddy so that allowed me to have both SSD and HDD available).

The entire upgrade cost me about $300, Caddy+SSD+16GB RAMs, and now the Mac runs so fast like brand new.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing, well worth it

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Extremely fast, an overall improvement, the biggest of which, were for the OS and gaming.

Boot times of under 5 seconds, loading times have gone to almost instantaneous, or 1-3 seconds, whatever the case, it's fast.

And of course, read/write speeds are crazy fast as well.

3 months later and still going strong.

Cons: None that I experienced or can think of with the actual product.

It'd be nice if it came with a tray of some kind, but it works just fine laying there in the case.

Other Thoughts: I avoided SSDs for the longest time, just because of what I heard about them years ago. I just couldn't be bothered to deal with them, but they've come a long way since then, and i finally decided, what the hell, might as well. It's definitely worth the purchase for the performance it gives you.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Outstanding. Fast as heck. Installed my OS on this and my new build computer boots Windows within seconds. Owned for about 5 months now and have no problems whatsoever.

Cons: My thought process for not buying a 256GB for all my games and future games in the first place.

Other Thoughts: Great for programs you need to access quickly, including the operating system. I also got my Dad the Samsung EVO for his computer and this product seems a tad faster to me than the EVO, especially when it comes to starting up Windows. Then again, it's a different build than mine. Both are still outstanding SSDs. I will definitely be purchasing the 256 or 512 GB of this in the later future when I build a new PC.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: The install software totally sucked. I was installing this in place of a larger drive that was on its way out. The install software should probably be written to detect this but did not and locked up.

Other Thoughts: I installed this in a Dell Dimension E520. The Bytecc carrier recommended does not fit this machine but you need some kind of carrier.
