5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget CPU!

Pros: - Nice upgrade coming from various dual core laptops from 8+ years ago (and LGA775 machines).

Cons: - Stock cooler is barely adequate.
- Little L2 Cache.

Other Thoughts: My single core 2.8GHZ LGA775 machine died years ago and I've been using various dual core laptops that I've gotten for free over the years. I decided it was time to finally build a new computer again and I plan on getting a 4790K at some point, but so far this CPU has been more than fast enough for me to run all the games I've been wanting to play at full settings for years (mostly Oblivion and STALKER).

This is a great budget CPU paired with a GTX 960 2GB and I can run most titles from the previous generation on my 21" CRT @ 1856x1392@75hz just fine. It's such a great deal that I'm planning on building a second computer around this same CPU for an updated HTPC that I run to an agile modulator in my house.

4 out of 5 eggsPowerful

Pros: Love this CPU, fast and smooth running.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Only wish that in this day and age, the cooling fan would be more than bare minimum needed to keep it cool, should be a better for the pricing.

5 out of 5 eggs5ghz is not a myth

Pros: This chip is the most amazing chip i have gotten my hands on. cooling on a 240mm radiator. i have this PENTIUM at 5ghz stable at 71 degrees.

Cons: dual core and no hyperthreading. its also a really hot chip

Other Thoughts: intel should beef up the cooler a bit as almost everyone that buys this chip overclocks

5 out of 5 eggsbest balance of power/efficiency and affordability!

Pros: - easy install
- came as advertised
- great value/price for what you get

Cons: -none

Other Thoughts: I have installed on a ASRock C226M WS board used in a Fractal Node 804 running FreeNAS. I have 4-6 users at any given time playing media through plex (remotely and locally) and it handles everything just fine. It has improved my boot times, updates, etc. in FreeNAS (as expected) coming from an Intel Avoton C2550.

5 out of 5 eggsNot convinced I actually bought a Pentium

Pros: - Price for speed is insane
- Integrated graphics

Cons: - I asked it to marry me, instead it ripped a movie

Other Thoughts: I use this for an HTPC. I mainly use it for playing video from the cablecard tuner and ripping blurays to play back on the HTPC. I've had it running WMC in the background, ripping a movie, and browsing the web and no issues. My old HTPC couldn't do more than one of those at a time (and had a hard enough time with that one!). It's not my i5, but that's obvious. It's an awesome computer for someone who doesn't need extreme power for things like games/CAD/etc. I'm contemplating building another machine for work with this. Can't recommend it enough

5 out of 5 eggsBest for a budget - Update after 5 months of use.

Pros: Can be overclocked easily
I get 4.6ghz with the stock cooler
Paired with a great GPU can even play GTAV at 60fps (lower settings)
Great single core performance
Very cool in a ventilated case with stock fan and paste - 65C max load for me

Cons: No Hyper-Threading so this a dual core...
Get a decent motherboard Z chipset for overclocking
Can be unstable but, mess with your voltage a bit. (Overclocking is trial and error)

Other Thoughts: My Build
This Processor
8GB Randomly found DDR3-1333mhz
1TB Hard Drive
GTX 660 non-TI
If you are on a strict budget like mine, get this processor first. Then upgrade later to an i5 or an i7
Don't complain, you get what you pay for!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent budget CPU

Pros: - Runs cool with stock cooling after delid/TIM
- Can handle fairly high voltage
- Gaming hasn't taken as big of a hit moving from a mid-grade Ivy Bridge i5 as I thought it might.

Cons: - My particular chip won't stabilize above 4.1ghz regardless of temps (put it under an H80I v2 for a while which ran very cool) or voltages. I ran all the way up to 1.5v with watercooling and it would never run cleanly beyond the 41x/1.4v @ 78C or 40x/1.36v @ 70C I could achieve with the stock cooler, only difference with water was another 20C drop in temps.

- Ran extremely hot until I delidded and replaced the TIM. Dropped a crazy 30C under load just by swapping out the thermal paste under the lid.

Other Thoughts: - I'm glad it exists. I haven't had an unlocked chip in a while and the low price allowed me to try my hand at delidding without too much concern.
- It is surprisingly capable in overclocked form. Pretty meh otherwise.
- Intel ARK states it supports ECC ram so this is probably headed for a NAS box at some point running less voltage to quiet down the stock cooler.
- I have it paired with an older XFX 7870 GHz GPU on the ASRock Z97E mini-ITX board in a Cooler Master Elite 130 for now.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a CPU at the cheapest price!

Pros: - Speed, this thing is fast, especially in it's single threads, which is important.
- Best Value
- Overclockable: useful for gaming, just because, better performance, or to future proof this CPU even more.
- Stock 3.2 GHz, easily overclockable to 4GHz even with stock cooler. (do at your own risk)
- Overclockable to 4.6+ GHz with heatsink upgrade
- This CPU is great for a family PC or business PC for internet surfing, streaming video, office applications, and even above-average gaming
- Runs really cool
- It's better than almost any AMD CPU

Cons: - No hyper-threading to make it have 4 virtual cores, this is a dual core only
- Not great for AAA gaming (But if you are looking at this price point you shouldn't be playing AAA games or you should get a console.)

Other Thoughts: - I would definitely recommend this product to other people, friends, and family.
- I would definitely buy this again, especially for building new family PC's or business PC's.
- There's really not much more you can ask for out of a $70 CPU, thank you Intel!

5 out of 5 eggsNice cheap cpu to overclock

Pros: Cheap

Overclock-able (even with included cooler, which is nice)

Low power consumption

Cons: Can't really think of any, it never had any problems

Other Thoughts: Can't get mine to overclock as well as ive seen with others, not sure if i got a bad mobo or silicon (I overclocked my i7-930 by 1ghz, it was a breeze compared to getting this to 3.8)
