5 out of 5 eggsWorkstation Perfection

Pros: Hyperthreading
Super low power consumption
No integrated graphics, I don't need them
Great for cpu mining

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It's probably not for gaming or overclocking. I use it on a basic Asus B85M motherboard. I would go with their CSM line, but really any 1150 mobo will do unless you're really pushing the limits. I will probably put this in my next gaming rig. It's cheaper than a 4770 with all the benefits. Might wait for DDR4 get the next version of this.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Rock solid CPU.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Since this CPU is used for video editing, we went with a Xeon chip as opposed to Intel's consumer based chip. Couldn't be happier!

5 out of 5 eggsThe perfect CPU for your ESXi home lab

Pros: I purchased this CPU with the intention of using it in my ESXi host in my home lab. I was a little hesitant at first but this has not disappointed at all! I am running 13 virtual machines including a veeam backup server in my virtual environment. Even when backing up replicas this thing doesn't break a sweat doing anything at all. This is an absolute steal for the performance you get out of it!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Perfect CPU for an ESXi lab!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Hyper-V Server Home Lab

Pros: I can run 5 virtual machines as once with this processor and it barely goes above 10% utilization. SLAT and AES extensions were a selling point for me, as well as power usage.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Installed this processor in a SuperMicro X10SL7-F-O uATX Server Motherboard. These products work very well together.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with SuperMicro and ESXi

Pros: I've been running this for a week now 24/7 and its working great. I've got it installed on a SuperMicro X10SAT motherboard without any issues and its running ESXi 5.5. Everything runs smoothly in ESXi with it and it can handle a serious load of VM's without issue. It does give off some heat but It's being cooled by a Noctua D14 so it's never an issue for me. Haswell quality is great and give you great performance to power usage ratio for the money.

Just remember this does not have onboard graphics but I think the 3.2ghz version does if you need it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Haswell and ESXi5.5 are great friends so far. Great performance for the price, especially if you need things like vt-d. Would recommend over an i7 if you're not gaming like me and using it for server purposes.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a Processor

Pros: I was out to build a solid machine. Since I knew I was going to be running a video card, didn't see the need to spend $50 on the i7 when I could get the same version and speed processor on the XEON. Most of our heavy work horse machines have been built around the XEON over the years and we couldn't be happier so when I built my personal computer around it, I knew what I was getting.

Also, no need to get seperate paste. The pattern and quality of the intel past on the cooling unit these days is top notch as rated by outside websites.

Cons: You can't overclock it. But this isn't a huge issue for me. I don't build systems to overclock. I build it fast the first time and keep it running for as long as I can. overclocking, IMHO only hastens the demise of a system.

5 out of 5 eggsNice CPU, simple and fast

Pros: Simple, fast, reliable, cool. Was easy to install. The mobo I paired up with this was the Asrock fatal1ty H87 performance, for a simple straightforward gaming build. I dont need OC capabilities so having a locked cpu is not a con to me. Performance is close enough to the i7 4770 with a sweeter price tag!

Cons: no cons yet

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in ASUS desktop boards

Pros: Basically it's a i7 4770 (non-k)

Works in an ASUS Maximus VI Hero Motherboard.

8mb L3 Cache.

Hyper-threading.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: ASUS Maximus VI Hero motherboard lets you lock in the turbo frequency, basically making it the higher clocked version of this processor.
