Its a great chip for the price. If you aren't in need of hyper threading, there is no real need for the 3770K. I currently have a mild overclock of 4.2 GHz, will try higher when my Corsair H100i cooler is delivered. While not a huge upgrade from the 2500K, I do notice some improvement, especially with loading webpages, and starting applications. Cons: It does run warmer than the 2500K, hence the larger cooler (I did have a Corsair H60). So not a huge issue. aileron726 6/13/2013 12:21:19 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5solid Pros: easily overclocks past 4.0ghz, with liquid cooling I am able to push mine to 4.5 stable. at these speeds it gets warm, and consumes quite a bit of power. max oc: 4.7ghz, unstable after long periods. 'normal oc': 4.2 ghz, very stable, but only used when transcoding lots of videos. if you don't mind the heat or power bills, you can run this processor at 4.2-4.5ghz all day with proper cooling. I only crank it up when 'extra' power is needed, the factory settings are pretty good for everything else. Cons: last of the 1155 chipset. if you want to move to the 4xxx series you will need a new motherboard. this can really be hamper if you wa to keep the newest chip, but such is the price for bleeding edge performance. Other Thoughts: great performance for the money. count on spending 220 for the chip and over 150 for a good motherboard. $400 for new internals is not a bad deal, especially if it will run substantially faster than your current processor and mobo combination. recommend: buy. (for RamDisk) Cons: My stable OC capped at 4.3GHz w/ H2O cooling- big disappointment. I've easily gotten these to 4.5GHz on air before so I got an OC lemon for my personal rig apparently. OC lottery. I mean yes AMD processors are a bargain for the money but over the lifespan of this product it will pay off with it consuming much less power and better performance. Why not spend the money upfront and not have to replace the CPU 3-4 years down the road and also the expensive motherboard?
