Once again Intel sets the pace in competition for performance and power efficiency with the 3rd Generation Intel Core processors, codenamed Ivy Bridge. Built on the market-leading previous generation Sandy Bridge architecture, the state-of-the-art Ivy Bridge not only continues the excellence in all aspects with Intel Hyper-Threading technology, Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Smart Cache, but pushes the pace a step farther with groundbreaking 22nm 3D transistor technology, which delivers an unprecedented combination of performance and power efficiency, and a couple of key refinement. The built-in visual is another leap offering you enhanced media and graphics. The Ivy Bridge IGP also supports DirectX 11 and OpenCL 1.1 to deliver incredibly detailed gaming and better heterogeneous computing performance.

The Intel Core i5-3570K packs four cores with Turbo Boost 2.0 technology to deliver incredible PC and visual experiences for all of your favorite activities—whether you’re creating, sharing, exploring, or gaming. Its unlocked multiplier allows you to freely adjust the frequency when used with compatible motherboard, pushing the performance to a new level and pumping the max out of your investment.

  • newegg Intel 22nm 3-D Transistor The 3rd Generation Intel Core processors employ the world's first 3-D transistor manufactured at 22nm. Intel's 3-D Tri-Gate transistor uses three gates wrapped around the silicon channel in a 3-D structure, enabling an unprecedented combination of performance and energy efficiency, and ensuring that the pace of technology advancement consumers expect can continue for years to come.
  • newegg Evolved Graphics Built-in visual features such as the Intel Quick Sync Video 2.0 and Intel Clear Video HD Technology enable compelling user experiences across a wide range of intelligent systems. Whether your application involves medical imaging, video surveillance, or HD media playback, the 3rd generation Intel Core processors support smooth visuals, quick digital image downloads, high-density media processing, and synchronous video streams. The support for DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.1 and OpenGL 3.1 takes your gaming and computing experience to a brand new level.
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 Designed to increase performance of both multi-threaded and single-threaded workloads, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 allows the processor core to opportunistically and automatically run faster than its rated operating frequency/render clock if it is operating below power, temperature, and current limits. Furthermore, the processor can optimize both processor and Processor Graphics performance by managing power for the overall package, allowing an increase in the render core frequency and increased graphics performance for graphics intensive workloads.
  • newegg INTEL SMART CACHE This large last-level cache enables dynamic and efficient allocation of shared cache to all cores to match the needs of various applications for ultra-efficient data storage and manipulation.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU, does everything including games with ease

Pros: Allows me to play current games without any bottlenecking. Does everything you ask it too very quickly. Doesn't get very hot at all with a Coolmaster 212 EVO attached to it. No problems with it so far.

Cons: More expensive than AMD CPUs rated at the same speeds and number of cores, but seems worth it.

Pros: -Easily overclocked to 4.2 Ghz while running at 71 C (with good CPU Fan)
-Runs games like they were made in the 90s
-Quad-Core allows fast rendering and editing of videos

Cons: none so far, just make sure to seat it properly

5 out of 5 eggsDynamo

Pros: Fast out of the box. Stays nice and cool. Excellent overclocking ability. Multi-tasks like a champ.

Cons: Nada.

Other Thoughts: I finally moved from my e8400 Wolfdale to this. It's quite a difference. Paired with some good RAM, this processor flies through everything.

It will overclock to 4.0Ghz easily with the stock cooler and perhaps a (very) minor voltage boost. It will go far beyond that with after-market cooling. This is widely considered the best current processor for gaming and other high-def content. It has identical capabilities to the i7's in those areas, and now, having seen the 3570K in action, I can confirm it has definitely earned its lofty reputation. It's a very capable multi-tasker. I can have all kinds of applications open and it motors through all of it without a hiccup.

I did a ton of research before going with the 3570, and I am glad I did. I can guarantee you it will not disappoint.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful

Pros: upgraded from a duo-core 2.4. Wow was I missing out. This thing is a beast stock, once i get a H~ cooler ill OC it but until then it's perfect, plays all games with amazing loading times and file converting happens in less then 1 min for a 38 min clip which originally took me 1h. For the price you can't beat this.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Super fast! I was extremely pleased with the stock speed but decided with my setup to bump it to 4.2ghz for a nice boost and long life. My original MB had problems so when I swapped it I removed the original paste from my H100i cooler and applied Arctic Silver 5 for additional peace of mind. My 3570k heat ranges from a low of 33C to a max of 58C. My old cpu was a i920 i7 running at 2.67ghz that was really crippled because of having only 6G of ram and additional hardware limitations. I was never really happy with it. Coming from that to the 3570k was like night and day in speed and stability.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP7
3570k @ 4.2ghz
2 EVGA GTX670 4G FTW+ in SLI
HAF X case w/ Noctua 140mm fan for exhaust
Corsair HX1050
Corsair H100i w/2 Noctua PWM 120mm fans
16GB Kingston "Beast" 1600mhz ram
Seagate 1TB 7200rpm for storage
2 Intel 335 240GB SSD for OS/games

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: this cpu is very fast, just came from a q6600 at 3.45 gig
and the difference is like night and day.my msi 460 gtx hawk video card now runs around 3x the frame rate on all my games at stock speeds

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: some of the cores can get up to 10 degree's hotter than the others but I see that this seems to be the norm on these chips

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CPU

Pros: Upgraded from a AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition that was overclocked to 4.3Ghz and was an amazing CPU for gaming considering it only cost $100 but it always left something to be desired with everyday use for someone who spends a lot of time on their PC (3 hours bare minimum a day with an average of around 6). So this time I figured I would spend a bit more on my CPU and go Intel.

I was worried that I would not see a huge jump in performance but that was just dumb on my part. This CPU is FAST FAST FAST. Everyday desktop use is so much smoother and responsive and gaming is better in every way. Thing is just a beast all around and I am sooooooo happy with it.

Cons: It was not free, it did not come with a GTX680 and a SSD.

Other Thoughts: BUY IT!!!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent CPU, currently have it clocked @4.7GHz 1.248v
Temps run at 86c max on my CoolerMaster EVO with Intelburn, max temps for any non benchmark have been around 60c

Cons: Took me 2 weeks to dial in all my settings to get this to run stable, stick with it if you are trying to get your highest OC, your patience will pay off

4 out of 5 eggsSee below

Pros: Works great running stock speed, with stock cooler.
Overclock, stable at 4.3ghz, can't get 4.4 or greater no matter what! See cons.

Cons: Ran kinda hot with stock speed, and stock cooler.
Put in water cooling, still warmer than expected at stock settings.
Had to remove ihs, clean, and reassemble with arctic silver.
This brought temps down to expected.
Overclock to 4.3ghz, fully loaded, max temp 78C.
No matter how much voltage I apply, or settings i tweek, can't get it to 4.4, and stay stable.

Other Thoughts: It's a good solid cpu with excellent performance, I had hoped for a better overclock but I am happy with it, as there is never a guarantees with overclocking.
At stock setting, it worked fine, and that all u can take as a guarantee from a manufacturer.
