5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: Been up and running for a couple weeks, and it works great and runs any games I play without problem. Also got it on sale and with free ram.

Cons: I actually meant to get the 3570K, so its my own fault but can't OC since locked processor;first one I received was DOA, but after a quick RMA second works great.

Other Thoughts: Should have read more carefully what I was buying. Oh well learn from mistakes, and wouldn't knock a star off for my mistakes; shame no OC though.

4 out of 5 eggsBeware the 'K'

Pros: It dropped right in without any problems. Seems to be working within indicated clock speeds and power consumption, and it was a slight but notable performance improvement over the AMD 955 it replaced.

Cons: What they don't tell you is that the 3.8 GHz "turbo" rating only applies when one or two cores are active. When all four cores are working, as when playing a CPU-intensive game like BF3, the clock speed actually tops out at only 3.6.

Other Thoughts: This isn't technically a con but I think it really needs pointing out: this version of the i5-3570 *does not* support overclocking. You need the 'K' version for that, which is about the same price right now. Don't be disappointed like I was, and definitely don't wait a month before you experiment and find out, like I did.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Does exactly what I want it to do and it's great for gaming. I haven't over clocked it yet but will in the future. It came with the bundle I purchased for my build. Works great with my Asus MB

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsSolid computing power

Pros: Lots of raw computing power. Official support for DDR3-1600. Low 77 Watt power envelope.

Cons: Socket 1155 boards seem a little more pricey then I would like but that is likely due to the many features that I do not use.

Other Thoughts: After experimenting with some overclocked CPUs, beyond standard memory speeds, and HYPE-rthreading, I have found that Intel's best non-K non-Hypertreading, quad-cores gives the best value for my needs. I am running 8 of these things, on standard cooling, in compact FMB-01 cases, 80+ Corsair 430 W, 2*8 GB ram, and a 64 GB intel SSD. These 8 nodes of my mini-HPC cluster is fed from a single plug. And since everything is running within specification I no longer have an abundance of memory errors or misbehaving OCed cpus, just nice computing reliability for an affordable price. Also relatively quiet and not too hot.

5 out of 5 eggsLittle powerhouse

Pros: Great improvement from 2 core to 4 core. Great for gaming and rendering of video. Easy to OC, especially to 3.8ghz.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For 215 bucks, its totally worth it for a great gaming PC. Currently at 4.0ghz stable with watercooling. Gonna go further to unlock all I can.

5 out of 5 eggsSurpassed my expectations

Pros: Fast and stable. Works beautifully!

Cons: No cons!

Other Thoughts: To be honest, the main reason I bought this CPU was for Crysis 3. I have been using a Q6600 since January of 2008 and until Crysis 3 it was handling everything I threw at it. After having to lower the resolution and scale back the detail to get smooth frame rates on Crysis 3, I decided it was finally time.

The difference this processor made was night and day. I can max Crysis 3 out (with the exception of using FXAA) and the entire game is smooth from start to finish. That's with using a GTX 560ti 448 running at 1680 x 1050 (max for my Samsung 226BW). All features of this CPU are at default in BOIS (to include turbo mode, adaptive thermal monitor, and speed step which are on).

I ran HWiNFO64 during the final two levels of Crysis 3. HWiNFO64 is a program that can report back minimum, maximum, and average utilization and temperature of hardware components. The max CPU utilization was 94% (my graphics card was the bottle neck at 99%), max speed was 3.8Ghz, max temp was 60*C. How long it ran at these levels, I don't know. Just some food for thought.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Chip

Pros: I'm not going to pretend to be a tech guy, but I've built my fair share of computers, and I can say easily say that, for the price, this is one of the best CPUs out there.

I'd also like to say that they guy talking about how hot the chip is getting is an absolute idiot. You NEVER, EVER overclock a chip to that extent without buying an aftermarket fan - to take off two eggs for that is completely ignorant, as neither Intel nor Newegg promised low temperatures when you overclock; They only have guarantees within the limits of their set GHz. Complete idiocy.

I don't understand why they say you can't overclock this CPU.. Go into your bios and with one click, voila, you can overclock it.

On the topic of the lower quality graphics compared to the 'K', it makes no difference if you are just going to purchase a GPU anyways. In combination with a good GPU, this thing is a beast, and will run anything you throw at it with ease.

Cons: With certain BIOS, like my own, you can unlock the turbo boost which will allow this chip to spike to around
8.7 GHz for a split second, causing your computer to crash immediately. Obviously I won't knock off an egg for this, as I was just being a jacka** and wanted to see what would happen

Other Thoughts: -If you're going to purchase a separate GPU anyways, or you aren't worried about graphics, buy this chip.

-It is just as 'overclock-able' as the 'K' version.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for a sensible gaming machine

Pros: I bought this for a higher end but sensible gaming machine; most games just wouldn't take advantage of an i7 anyway. It hasn't stuttered once and complements the SSD very well when it comes to opening files and games.

Cons: Only thing I can come up with is when I was putting it on the motherboard and closing the latch it sounded like I was breaking something which scared me to death, but it didn't break and that may have been the motherboard's fault anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Plays Bioshock Infinite with everything maxed. As well as Planetside 2, and Warframe. All at smooth frame rates. It's quiet. My computer sounds the same as when I didn't have a card in it... I got this when it was only $219 without rebate. Awesome deal.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It's big af. I have a mid tower NZXT Source 210 white and I had to lower my harddrive to a different slot so it would fit.

I have an i5-3570, 8 gb of ram, and a 650 watt power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a CPU

Pros: * Happy wife, happy life. (It's in her comp)
* Does the job.
* Intel has been good to me over the years, never had a bad CPU.

Cons: * None

Other Thoughts: * I use an aftermarket cooler with all my builds, just always quieter and cooler but the stock is fine i'm sure.
* No need to overclock so I didn't buy the K.
