  • newegg Fully Unlocked Flexibility and Freedom With its fully unlocked multiplier, the Intel Core i7-2600K processor allows full control over the processor core/turbo and DDR3 ratios as well as power and current limits for the best possible overclocking results. It also allows for processor graphics overclocking for improved 3D performance. Intel’s cutting-edge 32nm micro-architecture with 2nd gen Hi-K+ metal gate process delivers the 2nd generation Intel Core processors with higher performance at lower power, thus better overclocking capability. (Intel P67 Express Chipset required for core and memory overclocking, and Intel H67 Express Chipset required for graphics overclocking.)
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 More intelligent, energy-efficient, and dynamic than previous generation, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 gives you accelerating performance when you need it. It delivers an even greater automatic speed increase by allowing processor and graphics cores to run faster than the base operating frequency for demanding applications if the processor is operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits.
  • newegg Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) Intel Hyper-Threading Technology delivers thread-level parallelism on each processor resulting in more efficient use of processor resources—higher processing throughput—and improved performance on the multi-threaded software of today and tomorrow.
  • newegg Intel Smart Cache Intel Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from faster, more efficient cache subsystem resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Integrated DDR3 Memory Controller Integrated memory controller enables two channels of DDR3 1333 MHz memory, resulting in up to 21 GB/sec memory bandwidth. Plus the memory controller's lower latency and higher memory bandwidth delivers amazing performance for data-intensive applications.
  • newegg Built-in Visuals (with H Chipset) The visual features built into the 2nd generation Intel Core processor family deliver everything you need to enjoy a stunning and seamless visual experience. Intel Quick Sync Video and newly-added Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) make media processing incredibly fast. New built-in Intel HD Graphics delivers discrete 3D graphics performance without the needed cost and power of a discrete graphics card, and features Intel Clear Video Technology than enhances video playback, image quality, and color fidelity for a premium visual experience. What’s more, add another dimension to what you see on your PC with Intel InTRU 3D technology which supports stereoscopic 3D Blu-ray playback in full 1080p resolution over HDMI 1.4.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Easy installation, as always. Not a whole to say here. It's an Intel chip, so you expect it to be stellar, and it is. Overclocking capability, which is nice. Able to overclock without much extra heat (maybe 5-10 degrees celcius). Runs cool, at around 29-35 degrees, overclocked to 3.8 Ghz. Really good investment. Can't say much about the built in graphics, as I use a stand alone GPU.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: On paper and benchmarks, the difference between this chip and it's i5 counterpart doesn't appear to be that different. I can tell you from experience (I've owned both) that this chip vastly outperforms the i5 from the same generation of chips.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Best CPU Ever

Pros: Everything. I cannot think of one bad thing about this CPU. It has treated me very well over the past couple of years. I've had it OC'd before and it ran beautifully. Best CPU I've ever owned.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsCPU for decades

Pros: Very powerful and can be clocked. Ive been having this CPU for almost 3 years!!! No problems at all. More than that, I feel like my PC won't get old with this CPU. Its still keeps up with tons of load and software. My theory was correct. Invested a little more, so you won't have to upgrade your PC any soon.
INTEL !!!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Had to buy different cooler. Noctua NH-D14 to cool it better.

5 out of 5 eggsintel gma 3000

Pros: Still going strong 3 years after release.
Wants to work hard and fast..

Cons: maybe the power consumption
thats all i can think of

Other Thoughts: about the intel gma hd 3000

many people do not know that the integrated gpu can be overclocked very well too.
I oc-ed mine from 1350mhz (max) to 1800mhz.
with +volt 0.25 on the gpu.
thats a 33% oc. And that will make older games like pes 2013 for me "playable"

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect since March, 2011

Pros: I have had the 2600k going on almost 3 years now. From day 1, I have had it overclocked to 4.2GHz and it has not had a single issue using an MSI board.

Cons: 2600k does NOT support PCI-E 3. Regardless of whether the motherboard supports it or not it is a limitation of the CPU itself. PCI-E 3 video cards will still work, just not at full PCI-E 3 speeds.

Other Thoughts: I have gotten every single cent that I have put into this little monster. If it weren't the lack for PCI-E support, I would have no reason whatsoever to upgrade anytime soon. The higher end motherboards are getting harder and harder to come by it seems.

4 out of 5 eggsI7 processor

Pros: The processor is awesome, does everything as described.

Cons: I bought my first one in 2012 and it was defective. I purchased another online AGAIN and it was defective as well. I took it back for a third time praying that it would be fixed and it worked better than expected. I just hope that there quality control is fixed. Both processors were overheating for no reason. Tech support resolved the issue by saying return to issuer and get a refund.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Overcolckable CPU,

Pros: The first first one I had I managed to get it to 5.2GHz at 90C (100% load) with Prolima Megahalems and Rosewill RFA-120 in push/pull setup. I ran it for a year at 4.8GHz at 70C at 100% load (28-30C idle). Then I sold it to a friend and buy a second unit, I can easily get it to go 5.0GHz on my first run. It runs fine for 2 years+ at 4.8Ghz with 70C full load and 28C idle before I upgrade to 4770k (cannot get it pass 4.6GHz). Never got it pass 25% when play game, the only time I get it to 100% is encoding.

Cons: Even over two years the price of this processor did not fall much.

Other Thoughts: It is better off getting the new processor with the same price. Overclocking is not a substitution for transistors. Clock by clock base, the new CPU with more transistors will always win.
