5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tech. Missing Software Support

Pros: Bought this to create a mini-ITX home theater PC (HTPC). I want to be able to play the games I really enjoyed starting in 2007, with OpenGL 3 shaders. (Most of the games I play that are newer do not require any more horsepower than that anyway.) Benchmarks looked good and, sure enough, it plays them very well! Wife is very happy to play games with me on the TV.

So no large GPU card required for my needs! Game examples include Overlord, Doom 3, Batman, Dolphin GameCube emulator.

Cons: Because I am creating such a small form factor machine with such an "experimental" chip (CPU and GPU combined), I would like to monitor temperature and other vitals to make sure this machine will last. I wasted hours looking for reasonable tools with no luck (AMD has a "thermal margin" thing that appears unsupported by any tools but AMD Overdrive. Even AMD Overdrive does not show the GPUs).

So I'll just have to hope.

It does make a lot of noise from the OEM fan on the CPU. I wasn't too surprised this would happen. Not a lot of room for other options.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed

Pros: Works great without a separate video card on low to moderate games.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried to o/c this but it seems mire than adequate for my 15 y/o grandson (at least he thinks so)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: An amazing APU! Every game I play runs smoothly on high setting! Score a benchmark setting of 1600 on the performance test which is fairly high on just a CPU (APU)!

Cons: The heat sink isn't too well, trying to invest in a better one at the moment. But the highest temp I've seen it was 125 when the rest of the computer was about 95.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Running Strong After 1 Year!!

Pros: This beast can PLAY ALL THE LATEST GAMES at 720p (high settings) or 1080p (mediium settings) WITHOUT A GRAPHICS CARD! Batman: Arkham Origins, Far Cry 4, Witcher 3, Grand Theft Auto 5, Dying Light, etc. With Windows 10 & Direct X 12, The gaming performance of this APU should increase.

Cons: As others have said, the included heatsink/fan is mediocre. Buy a decent FM2+ cooler.

Other Thoughts: When coupled with fast DDR3 Memory (2133MHz or higher), This APU can't be touched!

Pros: CPU get hot, so~ Don't count on the stock heat-sink fan if u do any overclock or gaming.

Cons: Very low FPS for Diablo 3 or DOTA 2 with APU only.
Only does Dual Graphic with R7-250, doesn't support any higher models.
APU becomes useless with R7-250x and up.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD A10-7850 Kaveri CPU

Pros: AMD

3.7 Ghz to 4.2 Ghz

APU

AMD

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I haven't been able to fully test this product yet, but for what I have used it for it is really fast. When I get some games I'll see what this thing really can do. I'm an AMD guy, but I also like Intel processors. I just prefer AMD products. This CPU is a huge upgrade from my older one. Can't wait to see what this baby can really do. I recommend this product.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for Budget Gaming Rig!

Pros: * Inexpensive
* Low power requirements
* Surprisingly powerful

Cons: * Stock fan barely sufficient
* Limited CrossFire support (R7 240 / R7 250)

Other Thoughts: Skyrim (with mods), Titanfall, and StarCraft II all run at 1080p with a mix of Ultra/High settings between 30fps-70fps with an average of around 40fps or so.

The main fps killers for this chip are Anti-Aliasing, Ambient Occlusion, excessive Ray-Traced Shadows, and Post-Processing effects. (I usually have to turn these down or off to reach 50fps-70fps in the aforementioned games.)

Models, Textures, and non-post-processing Effects like lens flares, muzzle flashes, water effects, and particles at maximum quality do little to no damage to the framerate whatsoever.

So far, I've been running with the stock fan. Thermal Margin can come to within 30C or so of peak temperature when under load. Idles between 50C-70C (Thermal Margin).

The whole rig runs stable and quiet on 360W with four 120mm case fans.
