3 out of 5 eggsGreat but

Pros: fast like nobodies business. Its actually kind of offensive.
Surprisingly doesnt run insanely hot
Great compute chip.

Cons: Runs hot, even under the inoS.
Will burn out cheap boards.
Very little OC headroom, since cluded liquid cooler
Included liquid cooler is a Pboosting clock speed even a little turns this thing from a CPU to a central heating system for a skyscraper.
Junk for gaming.

Other Thoughts: So, before anyone takes the cons too seriously, the pros of this monster far outweigh the cons. Its a beast of a chip, had it folding for 3 months and it was pulling in about half of what a standard GPU could do (somewhere between 14-15k pts per day). Beat the living #2 out of my i7-3770k clocked at 4.8ghz. If you need a chip that is primarily for use as a mathematical machine, this is THE king. Period,.

Now for the downsides:
My basement was insanely hot compared to usual temperatures due to this thing heating up so much under load. It was kind of funny. It also managed to kill my crosshair V F-Z once, because the heatsinks on it werent enough to mitigate the insane amounts of heat coming off the mosfets. I actually had a 2nd degree burn from just touching them. I rma'd the board and got a new one since it was covered under the warranty. And then theres that !@#(Y^&!@# liquid cooler that cant seem to handle anything above 80C, and the software included to control the heatsink does not work. This is AFTER reinstalling the software, Windows, trying 3 different versions of the same software (Asetek's Chill Control V utility) and just plain resetting everything. I went and got an h100i just to replace that nightmare of a block.

All in all, great chip, junky cooler. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a good, solid compute chip.

Pros: Absolutely, awesome, CP. It's mounted it on an Asus Sabertooth Gen 3 Motherboard, with a Darkpower Pro 10, 1200Watt power supply. With this 220W rated CPU, you don't want to sell yourself short on power.

Cons: These aren't really cons as much as things to look out for on this CPU. Getting this monster stable is a very tricky undertaking, so I hope you know your way around the inner workings of a PC, it will be needed. The good news, is that it can be stabilized, and once done, OC'ing it is fairly easy. I've had mine as high as 5.7; but, prefer to run it at 5.2. This is on all 8 cores.

I removed the Asetec cooler that came with it, not long after installing it and ended up putting it on my daughters rig, housing an AMD 8350. I opted for a Cooler Master Glacier instead; due, to the noise levels of the other cooler, and the (what I feel) was a rather funky fan connection system.

Other Thoughts: Definitely not for the faint of heart or a beginner, as this unit is built as an extreme. If you are just curious or not sure what you are doing around the inner workings of a PC, I really don't recommend getting the 9590, as you'd probably be better served with the 8350. It's not nearly as temperamental, or touchy as the 9590, which takes some getting used to.

3 out of 5 eggsFX-9590

Pros: Ubuntu and Windows are both screaming on this, and games love it.

Cons: The water pump that comes with it can't be opened. Not sure what mixture is in there, and there is no way to refill it. A very poor design choice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU with liquid cooler

Pros: Great performance! Very quiet even with the 2 fans for the liquid cooling.

Cons: If you haven't setup a liquid cooling it can be very difficult. The cooler and the 2 fans take up alot of room. Make sure you get a case with enough room. I put mine into a Raidmax Smilodon case and had to remove 2 case fans to get the cooler to fit.

3 out of 5 eggsIssue with motherboard

Pros: The CPU was cool as a mid spring night, and not a CPU fan stirred.

My computer cases fans are louder than this CPU at all times. Even when playing the most intense of games... Or two at the same time.

Cons: It doesn't like my motherboard, something to do with the difference in the pins of the fans. This things fans require more prongs than a normal cpu fan, thus cannot be used on the Mother boards cpu slot.

Other Thoughts: This caused the board to freeze up and crash during the bio-boot up. Not the CPU's fault, but something to keep in mind when buying a water cooled system. It wouldn't hurt if the manufacturers were to send a converter or some kind of device to trick motherboards during their bootup's.

4 out of 5 eggsFAST

Pros: Great Processor. Very fast for multi-tasking. No so much for Video games this processor will limit you in certain games. AMD is known for Multi-Processes. great on default settings since its already overclocked.

Cons: Well I have two.
One- Gets to hot the Water cooler it supplied cannot keep it cool while Multi-tasking through several processes. gets super hot and have system shutdowns several times because it cant cool the processor.
Two-Older boards from Asus do not support this processor. you will need to make sure you look at what motherboard you have and the cpu support it is with.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure how I feel

Pros: I bought this CPU in a package with the Ripjaw and
Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 for myself for christmas. I had been on a knife edge switching myself and everything i knew and liked about AMD to intel just so i could SLI now i have the MOBO to do it with and it was packaged with this cpu, but, I have a problem...

Cons: the cooler that came with the CPU was leaking a red fluid in the packaging as soon as i opened it up but i wasn't worried because my wife had purchased for me the Corsair H100 cooler (not the H100i) and I don't know if thats my problem but EVERY SINGLE time i turn on the system i have to without fail open the ASUS AI suite and dial the CPU freq to 4.4 or the system will simply freeze. I've built plenty of rigs and never had this problem. I've all but given up and decided to stick with dialing it down. I want to run it at 4.7 but can't and I've chased every lead from the OS to the MOBO and even the SSD i use. I've had all sorts of people put in their ideas and nothing works.

Other Thoughts: I am not saying its a bad CPU, in fact the only bad word i can find on the this comes from intel fanboys and besides the obvious heat TDP and power requirements I will buy from AMD again but i regret not going/waiting 1 week for a restock of the ASUS 990fx MOBO and going with a 8350
