5 out of 5 eggsExcellent water cooler Nice looking FX logo

Pros: Nice looking and very reliable. These custom AMD exclusive coolers are made by Asetek and are of high quality. Performs as good as a Corsair H80i.

Included software lets you change the LED color of the FX logo and set fan speeds based on liquid temperature.

Cons: Extremely difficult to install. The included instructions are not detailed enough in showing how the small clips connect the pump housing to 4 screws. It's like there is a whole step missing from the assembly diagram.

Be careful when connecting the small clips not to break them.

Fans are very loud when running at max speed but you will only encounter this when stress testing.

Other Thoughts: I must have bought the last one in stock since soon after I purchased this the item went discontinued. I actually purchased this to use with an FX-8350, and I've added the included FX-8150 to my collection of cpus. I don't even know if the included 8150 works as I have never even unboxed it yet (I'll assume it does).

For those wondering, this cooler works with all AM3 and AM3+ cpus. This includes the FX-9590.

I use this cooler with an 8350@4.8Ghz and it keeps temps down to 54C when x264 encoding + gaming, this is with 24C ambient.

5 out of 5 eggsFast fast fast

Pros: Fast processor, cannot slow this thing down no matter what I throw at it, bought this in a combo with the water cooler and temps stay around 28c idle and 38c under full load. This chip really seems to shine under multi threaded applications. handles all games and the gaming performance compared to my sandy bridge 3820 is negligible, but the price difference is not.

Cons: no programs out there to challenge the full potential of this chip

1 out of 5 eggsGreat when its not freezing

Pros: Pretty fast, makes video rendoring quite a bit faster than my last rig!

Cons: The day that I started installed this I started getting random freezes, I figured I was low on wattage so I threw a new power supply at it. That didn't end up being the culprit (but I got a new power supply with my wifes blessing because of it, I will call that a mixed con) so I checked every single component to no avail and it was still working fine when I swapped in my old CPU. The random freezes are still a continuous plague, and waiting for the new PSU put me past the 30 day swap warranty with newegg... Which led me to AMD "support" where I was given a windows update that had no effect, then I was told to contact newegg and ask them to help me troubleshoot the problem and to make all further requests for tech support with newegg...

Other Thoughts: This really makes me wonder about my continued loyalty to AMD, I know it's more bang (in numbers at least) for your buck, but if this is how they treat customers with broken products, I am no longer interested in that kind of "savings."

5 out of 5 eggsGreat chip

Pros: great processing speed. Decent multitasking, runs cool and stable. the liquid cooler is awesome keeps chip very cool and is quite silent. As mentioned the light on the cooler is pretty cool. I feel I got it at a steal well under 200 bucks.

Cons: none i can think of (no I won't mention the eight cores not being real cores. one nothing runs on eight full cores at all. two this feels just as zippy as my i7 970 six core but didn't hurt my pockets like the 970 did.

Other Thoughts: I would have bought it at retail price need be

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: -Fast
-Stable
- Can hit 5ghz with ease
-Price

Cons: Isn't a true 8 core processor.

Other Thoughts: The water cooler, Where do I even start? Took me 2 hours to attach.

I had to flip my heat sink mounting bracket backwards, cut about 9 inches out of my case. Documentation can be thrown away.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Bad mistake to discontinue this. I got it for ten bucks cheaper than just the processer alone. I used the cooler for a few weeks on a phenom ii 940 and got 26c temps. Averaging 37c on the 8c. Both are 125w processors so I'm guessing the mb and ram change has more to do with this. Stable, fast, good buy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Asetek water cooler, worth the money. Fx light is able to be programmed to any cooler you want. Keep an eye out if they offer this cooler on another processer. Worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Multi-core CPU
Came with liquid cooling kit, practically free
Price for performance

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: With this CPU I'm able to multi-task like never before. I bought this at the price of $179.99, which was $10 more than the same CPU without the liquid cooling kit.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Processor - Horrible experience installing cooler

Pros: Great price, at the time of purchase was the same price as just the CPU without the cooler. Seems to have pretty solid performance for the price.

Cons: The documentation for the installation of the cooler was horrible at best. I ended up thinking I had a power supply issue. After the initial build the computer was flashing on for a second then back off. I assumed it was the PS because I got a video card that required 450w and bought a 500w PS. After thinking that it was a power supply I took apart my main use computer that has a 750w to try it and same issue.

After disassembling my new build and inspecting the way the heat sink works, I figured out that it wasn't making a solid connection. I took everything apart down to the processor from the MB. After rebuilding and attaching the heat sink in a different way, I was able to boot. The instructions did not help in the installation of the heat sink. My 1 star rating is for the 2 wasted hours and in hopes that this is resolved.

3 out of 5 eggsVery sub-par instructions

Pros: The product itself is nice. Seems to keep cool thus far. Has a nice light on the heat sink to let you know it's powered up. Software that comes with it works nice too.

Cons: Bad instructions. Has pictures that are incomplete, and does not have written instructions for installation. I think they assume you have installed one of these before.

Other Thoughts: The product itself is good, and I would order it again. However, if you have never installed one before you may find yourself going to YouTube to see if you can get some idea of how it should go together. The clips in particular are not clear on how they should work. They can be installed wrong and then you have the pull them off again. I also found the instructions to actually be wrong regarding the preparation of the mount. It doesn't tell you to remove the existing heat sink mount, which much be done first in order to install.
