5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: -Fast
-Stable
- Can hit 5ghz with ease
-Price

Cons: Isn't a true 8 core processor.

Other Thoughts: The water cooler, Where do I even start? Took me 2 hours to attach.

I had to flip my heat sink mounting bracket backwards, cut about 9 inches out of my case. Documentation can be thrown away.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Bad mistake to discontinue this. I got it for ten bucks cheaper than just the processer alone. I used the cooler for a few weeks on a phenom ii 940 and got 26c temps. Averaging 37c on the 8c. Both are 125w processors so I'm guessing the mb and ram change has more to do with this. Stable, fast, good buy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Asetek water cooler, worth the money. Fx light is able to be programmed to any cooler you want. Keep an eye out if they offer this cooler on another processer. Worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: Multi-core CPU
Came with liquid cooling kit, practically free
Price for performance

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: With this CPU I'm able to multi-task like never before. I bought this at the price of $179.99, which was $10 more than the same CPU without the liquid cooling kit.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Processor - Horrible experience installing cooler

Pros: Great price, at the time of purchase was the same price as just the CPU without the cooler. Seems to have pretty solid performance for the price.

Cons: The documentation for the installation of the cooler was horrible at best. I ended up thinking I had a power supply issue. After the initial build the computer was flashing on for a second then back off. I assumed it was the PS because I got a video card that required 450w and bought a 500w PS. After thinking that it was a power supply I took apart my main use computer that has a 750w to try it and same issue.

After disassembling my new build and inspecting the way the heat sink works, I figured out that it wasn't making a solid connection. I took everything apart down to the processor from the MB. After rebuilding and attaching the heat sink in a different way, I was able to boot. The instructions did not help in the installation of the heat sink. My 1 star rating is for the 2 wasted hours and in hopes that this is resolved.

3 out of 5 eggsVery sub-par instructions

Pros: The product itself is nice. Seems to keep cool thus far. Has a nice light on the heat sink to let you know it's powered up. Software that comes with it works nice too.

Cons: Bad instructions. Has pictures that are incomplete, and does not have written instructions for installation. I think they assume you have installed one of these before.

Other Thoughts: The product itself is good, and I would order it again. However, if you have never installed one before you may find yourself going to YouTube to see if you can get some idea of how it should go together. The clips in particular are not clear on how they should work. They can be installed wrong and then you have the pull them off again. I also found the instructions to actually be wrong regarding the preparation of the mount. It doesn't tell you to remove the existing heat sink mount, which much be done first in order to install.

4 out of 5 eggsThe AMD FX 8150

Pros: EXTREMELY FAST! I went from a Core 2 Duo E8400 to this, and BAM! Handles all of the games that I play and multitasks much better than my Core 2. In addition, the liquid cooler keeps the device very cool, room temperature in fact.

Even though it goes under scrutiny for the people who say it's not a real 8-core chip, you get what you pay for. You can pay the premium for a true 8-core from the other guy, but that'll set you back quite a lot. In addition, the cooler by itself would probably set you back $80 or more for a cooler of this quality

I had no idea where to get an updated version of the software onboard, so I used the software included in the disc. Besides a little confusion between the cooler's internals and my motherboard on how to run the fans(more in other thoughts), everything worked. The cooler has not had to go full-blast to cool at stock clocks, although since this cooling kit is designed for OC cooling, there is a lot of headroom for this mighty chip.

Cons: Not many, besides that my GPU can't be as quiet as the radiator!

The only thing I would really make a fuss over is the idea of putting aesthetic lighting on the cooler itself (the FX on the pump lights up). To be honest, I own a case that doesn't have a side window, and even if it did, it's in a corner where it wouldn't be seen. I guess for looking cool it works, but did you really need to do that, AMD/Asetek?

In addition, the radiator itself is a big puppy. in my Cooler Master HAF 912, it gave my about a centimeter from the top, and two from the side with the cooler mounted sideways. Plan accordingly, and take the measurements of the radiator into account when buying this

Other Thoughts: Some people had the issue of the cooler's documentation not being up-to-snuff...I did not find this the case for me. I put things together by the pictures most of the time, anyway.

The issue I mentioned above was a fan discrepancy between between my motherboard, an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. The Asus board did not like how the cooler's controller kept the fans spinning lower than the default "fan error warning" level, and would spit out a fan error every other boot. I fixed this when I installed the AI Suite for the board, I adjusted these, and had no problem forward.

Also, do yourself a favour, and get some aftermarket thermal paste. I went with Arctic Silver 5.

I just say this item go Discontinued, though, so you're lucky if you find it :P.

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912
CPU: AMD FX 8150
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x4GB DDR3 1600
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X motherboard

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Combo

Pros: For me it was very easy to install, i had to sacrifice my side fan do to that it was in the way of the radiator of over all easy. Its working awsome, i upgraded from a phenom II x4 970 3.5 ghz. This cpu is working at half of what my old cpu was and the cooling is awsome with the liquid cooler.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Other Thoughts: For the price right now it was differently worth it. Im loving it so far. Will review if i run into any problems with it but so far its excellent and just what i needed

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine, cooling not an issue

Pros: Despite other's complaints, the liquid cooling system was virtually self explanatory; no directions really required if you are even the least bit familiar with such systems. The processor is at spec. Conservatively OC'd in an Asus MB. Runs at constant 50C balls to the wall with low to moderate fan noise.

Cons: It's an AMD processor. Used it to rebuild a desktop for my wife. Being an AMD is only reason for docking an egg. Flame away. I will say that the directions for the cooling system are junk If you are not mechanically inclined throw the directions away and find a YouTube video.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is awesome as always. Ordered on weekend delivered free by mid week. Build done the next weekend.
