  • newegg Unlocked AMD FX 6-Core Processor The native 6-core desktop processor delivers unmatched multitasking and pure core performance with all-new “Bulldozer” architecture. New 32 nanometer die shrink was designed to reduce leakage for improved efficiency, increased clock rate headroom and better thermals. Accomplish breathtaking 3D modeling and HD video editing. Chat, watch movies, play games and more with maximum multitasking.
  • newegg AMD Turbo CORE Technology The AMD FX Processors come equipped with AMD Turbo CORE Technology, a performance boosting technology that helps increase performance on the applications that need it the most.
  • newegg New Instruction Capabilities – AVX, FMA4 and XOP, AES Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) increase parallelism tailored for scientific and 3D applications that use heavy floating point calculations. Floating Point Vector Multiply-Accumulate improves throughput and performance on many vector functions (integer and floating point). Advanced Encryption Standard noticeably increases performance on the latest encryption applications like TrueCrypt and benchmarks like PCMark.
  • newegg AMD HyperTransport Technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency, point-to-point link which helps reduce the number of buses in a system thus reducing system bottlenecks and enabling today's faster microprocessors to use system memory more efficiently in high-end multiprocessor systems. With HTT, the AMD FX-6100 enjoys up to 37GB/s total delivered processor-to-system bandwidth (HyperTransport bus + memory bus).
  • newegg Integrated DRAM Controller with AMD Memory Optimizer Technology The AMD FX Processor features a high-bandwidth, low-latency integrated memory controller that supports up to DDR3-1866 and new low voltage memories of 1.35V and 1.2V and provides new Pre-Fetcher improvements and direct communications to each core in Dual-Core module (APIC registers in each core).
  • newegg AMD Virtualization (AMD-V) Technology with IOMMU Silicon feature-set enhancements designed to improve the performance, reliability, and security of existing and future virtualization environments by allowing virtualized applications with direct and rapid access to their allocated memory. IOMMU is an extension to AMD64 architecture to support address translation and access protection on DMA transfers. AMD-V with IOMMU helps virtualization software to run more securely and efficiently enabling a better experience when dealing with virtual systems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for a Blender machine

Pros: The multiple cores help with the texture baking process and its a great improvement form the core 2 that we were working with. The stock cooler does the job and its very quiet.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome CPU

Pros: It is AM3+ with high transfer rates. Never had any problems yet.

Cons: Not that powerful. And stock heatsink is bad...And comes with a red fan...Advice just gather up 20 more dollars and get the 6300

Other Thoughts: I reccomend this product to anyone who doesn't do major video editing or extreme gaming like Crysis 3 on Ultra or something like that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU!

Pros: For the price, a six core processor at 3.3Ghz stock is great! Since I'm in no need to overclock too much, I've OC'd at 3.6Ghz with the stock cooler. Currently playing BioShock Infinite with Ultra settings at 1920x1080 peaking at 65°C.
(Using a HD Radeon 7950)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Considering this is used in my first build, this is a great processor! Though I feel as if you want to see the full potential of this CPU, overclocking past 3.6Ghz may be a project. Not sure if the stock heatsink can handle too much OC'ing!

Other Thoughts: Newegg has always been quality and supportive and very competitive prices. 5 star in my book.

5 out of 5 eggsGood 6 core cpu.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do, faster than my X2 did. I'm satisfied with it's performance/price.

Cons: Might be a fraction of a second slower than a $200 cpu.
