5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: *CHEAP!
*65w keeps it really cool (doesn't go above 31°C, even when overclocked)
*overclocks very well (3.6 like nothing, could go higher too)

Cons: All of the cons are things you should know before buying so not really cons.

*no heatsink because its OEM.
*dual-core

Other Thoughts: It works great especially if your looking for a quick upgrade, or on a budget. You will love how cool it stays. If your looking for something with a little more oomph then look elsewere but this gets the job done!

5 out of 5 eggsBeastly OC

Pros: OC'd to 3.808 out of the box at stock voltage (using a Scythe SCSK-1100 in a hec 7K09 HTPC Case) +10 FPS in CPU-bound games @ 720p.

Athlon II X2 260 @ 3.808 @ 1.392V (like a BOSS)
Scythe SCSK-1100
Asus M4A785-M 785G MAtx
8GB Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G ValueRAM @ DDR2 793
PowerColor Radeon HD 6750 1GB GDDR5 Low-Profile
SeaSonic SS-300TFX 300W
Seagate 500GB 7200 RPM SATA
hec 7K09 HTPC Case

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's a fairly average performer @ stock, but it definitely gets the job done. I would have been perfectly happy using this @ or near stock, even for gaming. Gets playable framerates with CPU-bound games @ decent resolutions @ stock. OC'ing the chip brought out STELLAR performance (for the price)

GPU: low-profile PowerColor 6750 1GB (Sidenote: GPU runs STUPID HOT @ load. 100' C )

Tested GTA IV bench.
Avg 40 FPS OC @ 720p Avg 30 FPS @ 1080p
Tested DoW II bench.
Avg 40 FPS OC @ 720p Avg 30 FPS @ 1080p
Both of these are CPU-bound games.
(Haven't tested StarCraft II yet)
Ran other benches, of course, but they relate to the GPU.

I was impressed by the OC performance of this chip, and VERY impressed with how high it went @ stock voltage. From what I read, I expected to get maybe 3.4GHz out of it. 3.8 blew me away.

All that being said, I'm actually MORE impressed by the non-enthusiast RAM I used that went from DDR2 667 up to nearly DDR2 800 without issue.
4 x Kingston

5 out of 5 eggsNice upgrade from oldie

Pros: Dual core, runs cool, can overclock moderately.

Cons: Outdated but for the price you can't complain.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to replace a really old single core 90nm Athlon for light gaming (WoW) and the difference was night and day. Paired it with a 5670 (came from an 8500GT) and WoW has never looked better. It's nice you dont need to dump a grand into a system to play some games and have fun. This cpu and a sub $100 graphics card is plenty for light gaming. To the reviewer below... get a clue man, no OEM cpu ever comes with the heatsink. If you really want to read specs and whatnot about the CPU there's this thing called the world wide web!

3 out of 5 eggsNo heatsink, terrible packaging

Pros: AMD nuff' said

Cons: No heatsink was included, that is something that should be in bold in the description. This processor was shipped to me in a thin plastic box wrapped in bubble wrap, no antistatic protection at all. This CPU was protected from physical shock but not static electricity shock. Also, there was no documentation for it, I'm out of luck if I need to read info about it.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again if I knew there was better shipping protection.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mid Range Processor

Pros: Has been able to do everything from make movies, play newest games, stitch high res pictures in a reasonable amount of time. Never gets too hot either.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought it with the Fan and Heatsink

5 out of 5 eggsPower for a very reasonable price

Pros: I have this CPU in a media PC I use. No very extreme performance stuff, but the X2 260 gets everything done well. I had it overclocked once to 3.8 GHz to see how it would do. Very simple to overclock, and you can upgrade its power to that of a Phenom X3. For what I paid, I'm satisfied.

Cons: I don't have any problems with this processor, but it isn't anything special. Won't take an egg off, but if you're thinking of buying, just know that it definitely is not powerful enough for gaming. Don't expect anything special.
