5 out of 5 eggsAMD Keeps Making Me Fall In Love All Over Again!

Pros: Everything you have heard before, great oc'ing ability, temps are very good for a hexa core, easy upgrade path, you name it and we can keep saying good things. You don't even need to OC this thing but it's fun to!

Cons: Uhh no Hyperthreading? That's about all I can come up with, which isn't saying much. oh btw it is only 2 threads less than an i7 and two more physical cores overall, which is way better than logical cores :)

Other Thoughts: I have loved AMD since the K6/K6-2 lineup. They were always the underdog that packed more punch and NEVER ripped their customers off. They were always the more reasonably priced brand and it makes me so pleased that they have stuck to their roots, even if it's not by choice. They are the "smarter choice" for so many reasons. I own an i7 930 oc'd at 4ghz, and it is great but this cpu holds it own when compressing/uncompressing rar files and encoding my videos. It is VERY solid! I cannot wait until AMD adds hyperthreading in the future. Intel will have serious competitive problems then!

1 out of 5 eggsNot Working

Pros: It was priced nicely and arrived timely.

Cons: After hooking everything up this was the 2nd item I received to be not working out of the box. Paid a local computer repair place to figure out which pieces I bought for my new build were good and what wasn't. Sadly the mobo and the processor were the things that didn't make it.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to RMA it and hope Newegg can help me out.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: -Runs cool and quiet
-Easily overclocks to 3.5GHz+
-SCREAMS compared to the Athlon X2 5200+ it replaced

Cons: I've got nothing...

Other Thoughts: BD_Rebuilder encodes that used to take a day with my 5200+ take less than an hour with this processor. The difference is astounding.

There's plenty of info out there about how to safely overclock this processor...even with the stock heat sink. I highly recommend it because this processor is capable of going way beyond 2.8GHz.

5 out of 5 eggsNeck breakingly Fast

Pros: I can't say enough about this processor. i'm glad AMD is making amazingly fast processors like this.
This with windows 7 makes the PC boot, almost instantly.

Cons: None so far,

Other Thoughts: I'm just very impressed with the speed and quality of AMD products

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: I bought this processor so that I could run multiple virtual machines on my computer. I tried running them on my quad core PC, and it couldn't handle it at all. This one does a great job.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'll probably need to get an after-market cooling solution as AMD's tend to run a bit hot, but it does well.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: Everything.

Great improvements in archiving, gaming, and encoding over my old Athlon X2 6000+.

Cons: It's not as good as an Intel 6 core.

Other Thoughts: You can't beat the price/performance ratio.

Got mine for $199.99, that's less than $34 a core!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy

Pros: Oc to 4.050ghz temp 34c to 43c on water of couse(Heatkiller3.0LC,KoolanceRP-980BK,2x240Rads) For everyday use this is overkill!! I love it. I put off this review for a couple of weeks so I could give a good review. It has tons of headroom for Oc but it is so fast already that there isn't much of a point. #1 Bang for the buck.

Cons: I would recomend a aftermarket cooler and maybe 1 or 2 extra fans I went from a AtholonIIx2 and was not prepaired for the amount of heat this baby can generate. All joke's aside my livingroom is the warmest room in my house it's like running a 140watt heater. I don't even want to here the word Intel I have a wife and kid to support and I could think of many othere things to drop 1000$ on like college fund.

Other Thoughts: A very good buy and for anybody who things that AMD is second rate to Intel then think again. AMD takes there time and does things the right way. Just do a little googling and always research first.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cool and Quiet technology, Easily Overclockable with stock cooler, Price.

Cons: The only con is the cache compared to Intels equivalent, but for me the price difference made me go for this chip.

Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 3.5ghz with a breeze. Runs Win 7 like a dream :)
