5 out of 5 eggsStill chugging

Pros: Still working smoothly after nearly four years.

Cons: Like others have said, loud.

Other Thoughts: For those also in the market for a quieter fan for this bad boy, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggs1055t Thuban

Pros: 6 Cores running without so much as a hiccup for four years. Affordable, Stock fan sufficient.

Cons: Loud fan under stress. Discontinued

Other Thoughts: This is simply the best processor that I've owned, scrimped on the processor years ago in order to splurge on a nice GPU. Was well worth the money, it's been about 3 years and still haven't upgraded, almost don't want to. This thing has handled so much gaming and stress but still working just fine.

I'm almost hesitant to upgrade it.

3 out of 5 eggsIssues during gaming

Pros: It runs smoothly, it plays movies. it turns ON.

Cons: When playing starcraft or diablo 3, the system freezes occasionally. A restart is required. On forums, they said it may have to do the chip being unable to manage the directx processes correctly. My friend with **Tel don't have this problem.

5 out of 5 eggsA Discontinued Beauty

Pros: When I went through with my first build some 3 years ago, I chose this processor based on current benchmarks and price. I wanted to splurge on a GPU and save on my CPU, so this fit right in my wheelhouse. It has since become my favorite piece of hardware in my machine. It runs like a champ through everything that I throw at it, and I HAVEN'T EVEN OVERCLOCKED IT. I haven't had a need to! It runs great with my Radeon HD 6870 (which isn't a splurge at all) and nets 60+ fps on most modern games. It's time to upgrade my GPU, but this bad boy is staying exactly where it is.

Cons: The stock fan sounds like a jet fighter taking off now, but that's to be expected. I'm in the market for another cooler now, but the stock fan has treated me fine temperature-wise for three-plus years.

Other Thoughts: The saddest part of the whole thing is that this baby is discontinued and AMD hasn't made anything else this good since. You can find this for pocket change through other outlets, I'm sure. Leap on the first one you find, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

5 out of 5 eggsWin for me

Pros: I ran this on two computers for over 2 years with windows 7. Very stable. Computer sleeps when it wants and runs for months with no symptoms.

Cons: Make sure you use the correct bios versions for your motherboard. If you are experiencing some instability symptoms, you should check your bios version as part of troubleshooting.

Other Thoughts: I favor Asus motherboards and AMD CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggsRibabosha!!! 4 years on and counting!!

Pros: The best processor I have ever owned, Enough said!! I have been tempted to upgrade but it is not worth it. I don;t see the need. These 6 cores enable me to multi-task perfectly, all games even today's games play excellent!! Video editing and I write computer programs and compiling code while working with another project....it just eats through everything with ease!

Cons: None.
AMD no longer manufactures this chips and replaced them with current day vishera.

Other Thoughts: Workhorse processor. Still going strong 4 years later. Built my system 4 years ago and it has worked very well. Running Windows 7 64bit

Thank you AMD

5 out of 5 eggs3+ years onwards still going strong

Pros: Clocks to 4.0ghz on air, was cheap when I got it in 2010, if you can get one now it'll probably be peanuts. Runs any game at max settings without trying still.

Cons: No longer manufactured, AMD has not made a CPU this good for the price you paid since.

Other Thoughts: Built my current rig in 2010, just updated my GPU to a current high end card and clocked this 6 core up to 3.8ghzx6 and its like a brand new machine.

For the ppl complaining about the stock fan... really... spend the $20-$30 for a good aftermarket cooler. I've had a HUGE Zalman copper circle finned monster on this CPU since day 1 and doing that really does extend the life of your parts.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this thing

Pros: Amazing and reliable. Two very important things for any computer component. This thing has been threw tones of abuse with high end gaming with multiple instances and much streaming to twitch. Can gaurenty that it will run great. No real issue with it.

Cons: only thing I can think of has been said. It sounds like a rocket ship taking off after 3 years. Although a fan replacement has fixed the overheating and sound. Just that the poor little fan wasn't ready for the task at hand.
